Like most lakorns the FL is stupid, giving many scenes where she embarrasses herself. She is scheming and rude. She tries to act over smart, marches in to help the villagers with no plan in her head. I wonder if a lakorn would ever write a ML in this fashion. Even if they do, they'll make him 'cute'.
FL even tries to kidnap her nephew but is easily fooled by the ML, is rightly kicked out of the village but is shameless enough to wonder how her actions were wrong! She knows how her dad mistreated her brother for marrying a village girl, and yet she behaves just like, fooling the villagers, taking advantage of their kindness, trying to buy them with expensive stuff and pizza. When they don't wag their tails she snaps at them.
All this till 8 episodes. I didn't have any patience left so dropped it. Though I must say, the ML was not toxic at all. So many lakorn lovers might not like him.

Heartbeat started off very well, it was really nice and funny. But then it went downhill and I skipped through the last few episodes so that I could finish it asap. The ML wasn't strong enough, and it got boring after a while :(

Glad u found out :) 32 episodes is too late. I finished a k-drama just now 'heartbeat', the leads didn't get together for 8 epi and this is a 16epi drama. Then suddenly they are in love and I'm like 🤔😂
Once again, I didn't trust MDL ratings but went thru the comments and was prepared to skip the episodes in order to finish this. The romance wasn't there for the 1st 8 episodes and then suddenly was thrown at us, so I was never invested in it. Seems like 2 different people wrote this drama, it started off so well and then...

I didn't want to mention but yea I meant Thai BLs, I'm struggling with them a lot. We are in the minority though, I see loads of fans loving these BLs so why would makers try to improve. China would have given them a tough competition but it's almost out of the race lol

Going by the tags, and comments below, I think only lakorn lovers would appreciate such stuff. Hopefully China will never come up with such stupid movies/dramas anymore, they have far better stories to tell.

Exactly! Many BLs these days seem to be written either by youngsters or just to attract youngsters with little character development, unable to touch our heart.
'stay with me' recently showed how good Chinese are in this genre. I wish someone would just leak uncut c-BLs to the world lol
