Child prodigy can easily mean that a 6 year old kid can outsmart a 50 year old in brain storming...so 10 year old child prodigy is even better in this regard. A child prodigy may not have killed them but can very easily help them in hatching the murder plan. Also, a failed drama doesn't necessarily accuse a writer's fault. A Chinese writer writing legend of zhang hai definitely knows more about china and it's folklore norm more than you. It looks idiotic and funny seeing someone questioning ml's cleverness when he clearly mentioned child prodigy. You gotta learn first what child prodigy is before questioning the plot. It's as if - someone said he is blind but you are asking why couldn't he just see. Again, child prodigy means a child who can outsmart any adult in physical ability or mental ability despite being a child.

I started watching legend of zhang hai and it's awesome. The female lead is more like a side character, so their chemistry won't be like this drama's main leads. LOZH is focused on the male lead only (l have understood this watching till ep 10)
