Another one with a blah ending. They could have jumped forward and made him a great grandfather like he wanted.…
the great grandfather ending sounds really good, but 12 episodes is just nice. the hilarious moments that made the drama fizzled out towards the end and the last 2 episodes were just meh
i had similar questions and more: 1. Why was the FL caught in the time-loop in the first place? Was it to help…
Officer Zhang was usually very interrogative, and very unlike him to not get to the bottom of things.. And both the ML (blood stained) and FL were just walking along the roadside from the bus stop they got off till they reached the earlier bus stop. Ain't there other places along the road that they can get the ML cleaned up first?
Not perfect, but quite addictive that could lead to slight post-drama traumas, taking public buses and hearing Canon in D music popularised to drama viewers by kdrama Hospital Playlist, with its short 45mins x15-episode run and repetitive explode-burn scenes across 25 time-loops
the main leads were tired and exhausted especially the male lead ,, he's the one I felt for the most ,, he was…
i had similar questions and more: 1. Why was the FL caught in the time-loop in the first place? Was it to help the deceased student of her age and her family seek closure? 2. Why was the ML weaker with each subsequent time loop after he accidentally stabbed a passenger? 3. If the Police Officer Zhang went into the final time-loop after he died in one time-loop, as he didn’t interrogate but merely asked the two leads outside the police station in the final episode? 4. Why the ML and FL had walked a bus stop distance, after the ML accidentally stabbed a passenger, to the village where Tao stayed, where the police were and yet dodged the police?
Oh... Beach Boys - is this the grand master of bromance cum beach/village healing dramas?? Jewel in the Palace is such a classic.. And none of the 4 season-themed tetralogy Endless Love drama series in the list??
tbh, I was never expecting such a long list, and was actually wondering if i should have limited to 3 titles per person at the start, so the list is shorter, more manageable and less overwhelming for viewers, particularly new viewers, to catch up on! :)

Hi, can you let me know where i can watch this drama in English or Chinese subtitles? Enjoyed watching it more than a decade ago and hoping to rewatch this. Thanks.
not invalid, but wont it be good to see the growth of Xiao Zhan’s performance after these years, plus XZ’s…
i saw previously that Joy of Life 2 will be a prequel to Joy of life 1. so if it is indeed a prequel to 1, and thus i reckon likely to be on the encounters of FX's mother and her relationships with Qing Emperor, Chen Ping Ping, Xiao En and Ku He etc, then it is unlikely to have YBY in 2. fingers crossed 🤞
Not at all. Where have you seen this series' association with BL? 🤔
ah.. recalled, now that you mentioned - the deceased in one of the cleaning case was in a male-male relationship, highlighting general society stigma on, and pressure faced in, such relationships.
Interesting thought, as I was actually wondering about that while reading this comment section. Some people do…
Glad we share similar thoughts! And you are so right on noticing similarities as one watches more dramas of the same genre.. i was wondering if an objective rule of thumb is to try to watch as least 20% of a drama series before finally dropping it.. we can chat more at the discussion thread :)
I honestly dont remeber each character name and plot anymore to put a proper argument with you. I guess this is…
i didnt watch the 20-episode special edition as i understand it focuses on the relationship between the two MLs. To me, the drama's core is not their relationship but the plot and the powerful messages on ugliness of society, good vs evil, weak vs strong. This drama has an ensemble cast, and the 50-episode edition develops the characters (including the key support characters) and explain the plot better.
Your posts come across to me, with expectations wrt the bl theme (and WOH), and wrt anime version. Btw, if it is not clear, I'm totally with you that this drama is over-hyped as bl, and frankly to me, this bl tag so undermines this drama, as the story, plot and messages are amazing. I still honour what I said that a review will always be subjective, and hard to be 100% impartial. So yea, my review is definitely not 100% impartial.
To be fair, I have not commented on the acting prior. I think the cast did great, touching me immensely with their stories, and making their characters iconic.
We obviously also hold different views on whether WY will risk whole family if he doesnt owe anything from wen siblings, and that's also okay.
Honestly, it doesn't bother me who will play Yang BingYun in S2 as long as the main casts and support casts who…

I have only watched the live action drama, so no novel, anime etc. Based on what are shown and what i understand from the drama, as how i hv done for my prior comment, WY will do the same for the Wen siblings just as how they have done for WY. He never looked down, nor branded them as evil, just because they were from the Wen Clan. WY didnt kill the Wen folks when Wen Chao turned them into puppets to go after him, LZ and NHS at the Dancing Goddess Temple.
If interpreting from novel, anime perspective, there will likely be different views, as from what i understand from reviews and comments that i saw, WY is GG (grey and gay LOL) in the novel, and other uncensored adaptations.
A review will always be subjective, and hard to be 100% impartial esp if one goes in with expectation(s).
As someone who doesnt want to miss a really good drama, but neither do i want to spend time watching a drama that i wont end up enjoying, i hv often wondered if there is an objective point to drop a drama. So much that i started a discussion thread. https://kisskh.at/discussions/general-asia-forum/70221-when-to-drop-or-hold-a-drama
From the brief discussion so far, it looks like most drop as soon as one doesnt enjoy the drama and it doesnt matter to most that this might mean missing a really good drama.. Is it because there are too many dramas around to choose from?
