I'm sorry but even as a casual fan I don't like Esther's baby voice here. I didn't mind it in Love between Fairy…
I'm sorry it bothers you, but I adore her voice in this drama. Her voice was not always high pitched in this drama. There were later scenes when she became more serious around others, she started to lose the childish voice.
In which episode did they get together? In which episode did they breakup and get back again?Any love triangle…
This is not your typical romance drama. There is romance but the focus is not romance but on self-discovery, lasting friendships, solving problems, finding courage, achieving objectives, and accepting fate. The characters are very mature and smart people except for one little girl. Other than some jealousy, there is no real love triangle or breakups. The ending is not your typical ending, but it offers hope for a happy future.
if you are a fan of Esther Yu, you will surely enjoy her performance in episode 35 so it's worth watching the entire drama to watch that scene. She has been praised highly in many reviews for that noodle scene, but in order to grasp her emotions, you have to understand her character and her relationship and bond with Jinzhao, and how significant a bowl of egg noodle is in her 3 years.
I hope you try it and don't give up on it. If you don't mind spoilers now, you can fast forward to watch ep. 23 where they unravel about Kun and the Yu people, then go back to the beginning. It won't give away the mystery. The drama is worth watching if you enjoy a good cast of characters and good acting. It's also rather emotional drama full of heartache and tragedies so beware but the ending is full of hope for a new beginning. I consider it a happy ending because in real-life, we don't always get a second chance, so this is truly a happy ending to me.
The director is new, and his style is measured but overall, the cast, chemistry, and the acting is very strong and makes up for it in my opinion.
That’s crazy. That pictures of XuKai in the video that made people say he is fat - like really? This is what…
I think the whole weight thing did get to him. He lost a lot of weight, and his face is drawn in and changes his looks and expressions. But I think he gained some weight back recently. It is hard for him to keep up the workouts with his busy work schedule. The people criticizing him some of them probably don't even work out every day.

I like his fuller face. It is more expressive and healthier, more youthful glow to it. Also, the camera actually makes actors faces look fatter than they really are. His handsomeness is not in the shape of his face but it is in his eyes and other features on his face, and expressions and mannerisms and charm that comes from within the person. I have no problem with his fuller face in ALP. It doesn't matter if he gained some weight, his face is so charmingly expressive. His charm is also not typical of Asians, but more typical of Hollywood.
Here is a video talking about Xu Kai's fat-shaming someone mentions below that's crazy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmADuSQsaoU
This is why Kun went bersek with the dark human emotions. People can be so cruel, esp. on social media. In my opinion, Xu Kai perfect figure is rare for Asian man. He is over 6'1", has broad shoulders, wide chest, long legs, long arms, exquisite hands, long graceful fingers. Most Asian men even if 6ft, but they still can't get away from the typical skinnier more narrow Asian body structure, which is shorter sloped shoulders and narrower chest.
The ending is happy, it's perfect, and well written, makes sense. If you haven't try this drama, then you haven't experienced everything in drama life.
Watching this I kept saying oh he as to be an Idol! Xu Kai looks like he is part of Seventeen or Enhypen or some…
you're not the only person who's made that comment about being mesmerized. it's not just his outward appearance that is attractive. he has a charm that is so rare, that comes from the inside. What's interesting is that he's so underrated in China. He is very Chinese as far as his values, behavior and characteristics, yet he also has a charm about him that is rare for Chinese. I really don't know how to explain it. I can detect differences between Chinese and Americans or Europeans charm.
I'm ngl, I'm a bit confused about the Yu clan. I'm wondering why they didn't just relocate after the Kun disaster?…
When Kun ascended, it created a catastrophe of extermination for the Yu people. Of course, the living can move, but their purpose is to heal the wounded. The heart of the demon world is the place where they heal their wounds, and it is in the Kun's body. Because the body is the intensive care unit of the Yu people, those who have awakened must continue to heal others, and those who have not awakened can remain immortal in the heart of the demon world through the power of time of the fog soul. Because only the fog soul can be blood-bound, and the fog soul can imprison time, those Yu people who were injured in the earthquake may have died in a few hours, half a day or a few days, but they were put in the fog soul, let time pass slowly, and then slowly treat them.
I saw a review on viki rating this drama a one and that person doesn't even try to disguise themselves as a hater.…
On Viki, below the comments and ratings section where you can upvote or downvote an individual rating, I just discovered there is also a discussion section and it's like a war zone. People downvote comments that simply say I like the drama. It's incomprehensible.
