well OK but you sounded so distress with words like "annoying me", "getting on my nerves", "boring", "unbearable to watch", and "find strength to finish", I felt really bad for you. Is that healthy? Sorry i misunderstood you.

Your mental health is more important than finishing a movie that upsets you. There is no need to force yourself. Romance movies often explore emotional themes while other romance movies may focus more on action or adventure. Perhaps the complex, multi-faceted, and nuanced emotional themes in WOL do not appeal to you. It's okay not to like a particular movie.

favorite scenes in Ep40
1. Father and Son. They gave the scene plenty of time, not too much and not too little. There is so much to unpack there in those interactions shown in matter of 7 minutes. The father was a flawed and weak man but never an evil man. He never understood his son and was a bad father. Li Ni was an exceptional person, and the father was simple minded and prone to anger and hitting his son. It doesn't matter how bad the father was before or how loveless their relationship, if father and son can reconcile, that is a beautiful thing in life you would wish for anyone who is estranged, and it's heart -warming to see such a scene.
2. The fishing scene is funny.
3. LCF personal guard carrying LCF ashes to be buried is a touching scene.

Wished they gave a kid to Taozi and Ears and the kid inherited his super hearing.

excerpts from main cast interview:
1. XK: those ancient beds were just wooden planks. Our elbows and knees really hurt. Our heads often hit the beds too.
2. Gao Han is scared of heights, but he had to jump from an old building, and jump into a real natural lake.
3. Gao Han: Thank you LCF, for making me live bravely for once for Cui Lin.
4. When Gao Han jumped from 20 meters (66 feet) into the lake, his armor was 18kg (40 lbs) and still wearing wires. He had to jump repeatedly. After he fell into the water, he had to be carried by the current, and he had to do this all by himself. It was typhoon season too. The last time he fell, it immediately rained but the director continued with the scene.
5. XK: No one is perfect. Basically, LCF from the beginning, you already loved A Ying.
6. GH: A Ying is the breadth of life for LCF.
7. XK: I had to take care of the two kids while filming on location. Tried being a father for two days and couldn't handle it.
8. Jing Tian: I am grateful to viewers who supported us. I see comments that they worried about the storyline. They are angry because LCF craziness and because Li Ni and Cui Lin thoughts don't match. It made viewers very panicked. But I feel like they really enjoy watching it.

Miss gu is just as delusional as fake cuilin if she thinks she can get Lini's love and becomes crown princess…
Miss Gu plays the long game. But her mother ruined it with the drugs now her father has to speed up the game. After she told the emperor of Cui Lin's death, the emperor felt sorry for her and said he would make her Li Ni's consort and I assume crown princess. She thinks after some time, she can change him and manipulate him to love her. Remember her mother already resorted to s drugs to increase his sexual desire. I'm sure they will figure out a way to get her pregnant too. Once she has a son, she no longer needs Li Ni. Miss Gu wants to be useful to her father because all her life, she was the useless daughter; but now she is ambitious, and she does love Li Ni too.

Li Ni father and brothers were never raised to do anything in life, but to live a luxurious, useless life; and certainly not to be an emperor or crown prince. The emperor has no talent for anything but crickets. The emperor is a coward and has no ability to gather intelligence, so he depends on his trusted advisors for everything. and to begin with, he has never trusted Li Ni before. Also, LI Ni has military backing him and that military are the guards in the city, so it is natural for the emperor to be afraid of Li Ni. This is quite typical, unless you are the founder of the dynasty. His two sons rebelled and die so it is reasonable for him to think Li Ni would rebel too.

I think I'm the only one greedy now , because i really want it to air ASAP ...
I love the character Yang Hua in SHPH. Only Xu Kai could have made that kind of boring character come to life and give Yang Hua charm. Royal Feast was my second Xu Kai movie I watched. That movie seemed really long to me, and Xu Kai is not in all the scenes. Also, I had hard time following some of the situations until I found great comments in You Tube that helped me understand the scenes better. Xu Kai was absolute perfection in portraying the imperial grandson. If not for Xu Kai portray making the imperial grandson such an outstanding character and display his temperament so well, I would not watch it even though the entire cast was great especially the older actors were superb.

I'm in turmoil here haha. Seven and XK are one of the collabs that I've been wishing and hoping, and it's a dream…
She is 5 yrs older but she looks really young. I don't know why, I hope I'm not wrong, but I think the chemistry should be great.

can 't wait ...
Xu Kai looks amazing in the clothes he will be wearing for his modern dramas. That alone is worth watching if you like to admire beauty. He has been working out, so his figure is very nice. I always root for Xu Kai success. I believe in this actor. I love his hardworking ethic and sincerity. He did a recent interview and said he hopes to use his own voice more in the future. He will get there. He's only 28. He's got a lot of time to develop more skills.

Why the hell 40 episodes seriously 30 are enough for this kinda plot 🤷🙁
movie industry is all about making money and why not? if the fans like it, they make it. Some people felt that WOL has too many episodes but now that I'm at episode 39, my personal opinion is they did a great job stretching it out to 40 episodes. Every episode to me was meaningful to the story, fast paced, and nicely done.

Li Ni’s face was a mix of shock, disbelief, confusion, and skepticism when he saw Cui Lin, whom he thought had died, come back to life.. His expressions reflected his struggle to process the reality of the situation and question what he was seeing before him. The look in his eyes was as if he was thinking, ‘What’s going on?’, ‘Am I dreaming?’, ‘Is this real?’, and ‘Where am I?".

Later, with the same serious intensity, Li Ni said to Cui Lin that he just remembered that he forgot to make the bathtub larger.

Li Ni: You freaked me out. I don't care. You have to make up for me. You made me so grieved and cry so many times. All the people know their crown prince is a cry baby now.
Cui Lin: How do you want me to make up for it?
Li Ni: I don't know yet. Maybe I'll come up with an idea in two hours.
Li Ni: No! I forgot one thing important.
Cui Lin: What is it? Jieshuo? Imperial guards?
Li Ni (looking very worried, scared, and concern): The bathtub in the rear hall. I forgot to change it to a bigger one.

Ep 39 was intense when Li Ni carried Cui Lin’s coffin into the palace. The sword fight that ensued inside the palace was great. I enjoy fight scenes that are up close and realistic. The movie doesn't seem to have a lot of bodies in a scene, yet they can still make the fight scenes exciting. Everything happens so fast. What a satisfying way to kill a villain.

Why is it not believable that the fl and ml survived and have two kids? I'm assuming it was a happy ending for fl and ml.
1. two kids with their names
2. scene of ml from behind, clearly him at the end of the movie
3. no way the fl can die, that is counter to the character throughout the movie she always defied death
4. they never showed the ml and fl actually died

WOL is a light-hearted, easy-to-follow, and fast-paced film. It neatly resolves all conflicts, leaving viewers with a clear ending. Notably, it takes the time to unfold its story across ample episodes, ensuring a fulfilling resolution. Its many sentimental scenes make it highly rewatchable. While it fits within the romantic comedy or romantic drama genre, beyond the surface, the movie explores profound themes related to the human condition. By skillfully portraying internal and external conflicts, as well as clashing values, it transcends typical romantic comedies or romantic dramas. To fully appreciate its charm, approach it with a sense of humor and a willingness not to take it too seriously, and just enjoy the movie, get lost in the fun, don't worry too much about all the little details in the story or the characters.

The General, I agree that he loves his daughter unconditionally. The Prime Minister, I'm afraid, is only good…
At the beginning when she entered the movie, Gu Wanniang said to her maid that she was most useless of all her father's daughters, so that was a clue that that is all about to change for her. All her life, she's been wanting to be of use to her father, so that was another clue to me that she will play a big role for her father, the prime minister.

who says insanity has to make sense?
Insanity, especially when portrayed in storytelling, doesn’t adhere to the rigid boundaries of logic.
1. Drama gives writers and directors the freedom to be creative.
Even when portraying insane characters, they can bend the rules.
2. Insanity as a Metaphor. Insanity need not follow everyday logic.
It can symbolize deeper themes—chaos, fear, or societal flaws.
3. Dramatic works thrive on intense scenes. Unpredictability keeps audiences engaged.
4. In movies, we accept things that defy reality. Magic, superpowers, or absurd situations become part of the experience.
5. The Power of Madness: Sometimes, the most impactful stories emerge from the illogical.
Madness adds depth and resonance to narratives.

Revenge and hatred are recurring themes in Chinese dramas. These intense emotions often drive characters to take drastic actions, leading to complex and engaging storylines. Each viewer’s interpretation is subjective, and there’s no definitive answer to whether a character’s drive is “too much.” As long as we engage with narratives that captivate us, the magic of storytelling continues.

In Chinese dramas, the theme of insanity is common:
1. Vengeful Insanity - consumed by revenge or betrayal descend into madness. Obsession with seeking justice or retribution lead to irrational behavior. This theme adds tension and complexity to the storyline.
2. Forbidden Love and Madness - characters from rival families or opposing factions. The intense emotions and societal pressure can push them toward madness. Love triangles, secret affairs, and societal norms contribute to characters' inner turmoil and instability.
3. Supernatural Influence - curses, possession, mystical powers cause erratic behaviors to madness.
4. Power Struggles and Paranoia - Ambitious characters vying for power can become paranoid and distrustful and lead to mental instability. Court intrigue, political machinations, and power-hungry officials create a fertile ground for characters to lose their sanity.
5. Tragic Past and Trauma - psychological scars, unresolved traumas descent to madness.
6. Love Lost and Despair - unrequited love, heartbreak, tragic separations result in irrational behavior, push them over the edge.
