I was actually surprised iQIYi heat is the same as Youku since iQIYI did not spend on domestic promotion but relied on Youku. iQIYi saved a lot of money and still got the heat.

It completely misses the point to squeeze Xie Qingyuan’s life with the Chens (her adoptive parents in the novel) into just a couple of quick scenes. Their whole dynamic was way too complicated for a fast montage. The Chens were amazing people who gave her such a great, fulfilling childhood, and that kind of background needs a whole episode to actually make sense. Rushing through it completely ruins how close they were, so honestly, it’s almost better that they didn't even try. If they show her life with the Chens then they need to connect it to her mother story too. With only 30 episodes, they focus on the main story only.
sorry it's been years since I watched it. You're right, it was her sister; see how unimportant it was who got killed, I just remember it was a family member, now I recall it was her sister who entered the palace and yes, they did show flashbacks of her time with the sister, so viewer got the emotions behind the revenge, but she was much older has family history, in this drama the FL was baby.
