New was mentioned in at least one previous episode when mom was so intent on sending him money that she took out a loan or something and dad criticized her for prioritizing sending him money over paying their credit card or something similar.

I agree, though, that it seems pretty unlikely they would tell him about the disgrace his brother had become. Unless it was to say how grateful she is (since we don’t see dad talking to him) that he is so good when his brother is so awful. But I still think omission would be her go to.

I agree that while he had some backbone it’s not the strongest backbone. But it’s the only one present in that group so I’m giving Jin some extra credit because being the ONLY one standing up to and calling out your friends is pretty intimidating and scary generally. However, that said, I don’t even know why Jin is friends with them in the first place. How did he get there? He’s friends with them for a reason so that alone says something about his character (and it can’t possibly say anything good about him).

There is a lot we don’t know about Jin. Comparatively, he’s not a bad guy. I think Fluke is more grey than Jin, personally. I think Jin is a very realistic portrayal of a teenager trying to balance what he thinks is right against the group mentality. He SHOULD tell his friends to fuck off because they are assholes and bounce. He SHOULD do more to protect Non, who he clearly had a crush on, from their abuse. He does neither, but also how many real people in his situation would do better than he has? (putting the filming of the underage sex aside for the moment because I won’t ever excuse that.)

People really want Tan to be New but I just can’t see that. Non never talked to him nor heard from him once that we’ve seen. Why would he show up now and go undercover with Non’s boyfriend that no one seemed to know he had?

We must be watching two different shows because I’ve seen Jin tell his friends to stop being dicks to Non, to call him by his actual name, to glare at them when they do stuff and tell them it’s not okay. Yeah, he clearly gets exhausted by trying so it’s not ALL the time but he tries and he’s the only one who does. Jin is literally the only one with a backbone in that group, unlike Fluke who knows everything and says nothing.

I don’t think he leaked the video. His computer crashed. He seemed to be telling Fluke the next day that he didn’t before he got cut off. He took it, he gets full blame for that. But I don’t think he actually spread it. But that does raise the question of who did.

Is Jin completely innocent? Not at all. However he isn’t anywhere near as guilty with as many sins on his hands as the other four.

Those who watch and say nothi n allow and enable the behavior.

I thought New, Non’s brother, was in university though. Did I just make that up in my head because he’s studying abroad? He’s older than Non and Non is already either a senior or junior, I forget which. That means he’d need to fake documents and his identity to get into school. it’s not o it side the realm of possibility but it doesn’t seem likely. We don’t even know how close New and Non are. It seems to me like his dad is really the only one in his family who cared about Non.

My current theory is that Tan is Phee’s best friend. Because your best friend is likely to know about your bf in another school, is likely the person you talk to about all the shit whrn said bf disappears and is the person most likely to have your back to stir up trouble. If the connection between Phee and Non is discovered then a bff could be trusted to keep digging if Phee can’t stay in the mix of things. Also much harder to connect him to Non. Especially if he and Phee didn’t go to the same school. but that’s just a hypothesis. I could be wrong.

nope, those three are all on the same level. While some people take it out on others when they are abused and bullied, not everyone does (nor is being abused an excuse to do so). Por made that choice. Just like Tee made the choice to pass off Top breaking Por’s camera onto Non. Both are CHOOSING to place the stress they are under onto Non and both are doing so by creating a financial burden.

Top couldn’t afford to fix the camera it but Non could afford it less AND Por was more likely to not be such a dick about his friend breaking it. Por CHOSE to pressure Non to pay for the broken camera even though it was pointed out by Jin that it didn’t look like damage that could have happened when Non fell bc the camera never hit the ground when he did.

Do not forget that Fluke CHOSE to be a bystander and keep his mouth shut. Jin doesn’t know who actually broke the camera but Fluke was there and witnessed it. He watched Non stress and spiral and continued to keep his mouth shut bc he didn’t like Non, for reasons we still don’t know. When the horse accounts were outed it should have been clear to Fluke why Non got involved with that, and yet he still said nothing.

In many ways, Top is the lynchpin in Non’s spiral, but in many ways he’s less culpable for how bad it got than Tee and Por are. Fluke may be seen actively bullying him less than the other three but he never once decided to try to be a decent person or even call the kid by his name. However neither Top nor Fluke actively pressured him or continually, actively set him up for the domino of illegal activities that followed. Top tripped Non when he had the camera in his hands and clearly knew about the accounts from Tee bc he never opened one. That puts him barely above Fluke in terms of actively causing the despair and stress that followed.

If Tee hadn’t had him take the fall for the damage none of this ever happens. If Por isn’t such a dick when Non allegedly damages the camera this doesn’t happen. If Fluke ever opens his mouth, has a backbone and does the right thing by calling out his friends then none of this ever happens. If Top doesn’t cause the damage and help the cover up none of this ever happens. Hell, if Por doesn’t bring a stupidly expensive camera to school then none of this ever happens.

But without the pressure and harassment from Por, Tee doesn’t have an in to get Non to open an account. After all, Jin had talked him down and said he would help. Non was a lot less stressed and more optimistic because of Jin.

In the end they all bully and harass Non and enable each next step to continue. Jin is the exception, but he’s ultimately what shoves Non off the edge.

they’d probably still have holes. Though, from the half of the novel I read, they did make the show leagues better than the novel. So I guess if they really wanted to they could probably do something decent.

I don’t think there’s enough story to tell for a second season unless it focuses on side characters like Pete, Kenta and Kim.

But was he REALLY without powers or did Tony and Kenta just never realize it? Something about Pete telling Kenta in that flashback that he was always so tired when he played soccer with Kenta has always sort of itched my brain. And this guy, presumably without powers, goes toe to toe with alphas who clearly have fight training and are implied to be stronger than normal people (something about how Tony tells Way Babe shouldn’t stand a chance against him because Way is an enigma. Not because of his mind control/persuasion powers but because he’s an enigma and therefore more powerful than an alpha could ever be).

Ever since that flashback I’ve wondered if Kenta has enhanced physical abilities. Babe has increased senses like hearing and sight and seemingly also agility for reaction speed. I keep thinking Kenta is the physical side of that with greater stamina, strength and endurance.

Kenta, the only person who considered Tony his actual father, both betrayed him by giving Jeff & Alan evidence AND killed him but no one could be bothered to go give that guy a hug when he fell to his knees crying? Not even Pete who, just last episode, claimed he still considered Kenta his brother (and looked like he wanted to peel his clothes off)? No one? That guy went through so much in the last few episodes in particular and we don’t see him again after that scene?! What?!

I’m not sure why I’m still watching this show. It’s like a compulsion fueled by hope it gets better but it keeps getting worse.

Episode ten clearly wasn’t even fit for release in terms of editing with the uneven audio, lack of backing audio for consistency and some dialogue being completely absent (yet still included on the subtitles somehow). If you need more time to get your stuff straight just put it on hiatus for a week or two to catch up.

Then there’s also the erratic, inconsistent writing and the directing that must be terrible if even Ryan (who we KNOW can act from Twins) looks like he barely knows what he’s doing

The cast of this series deserves so much better.

I’m genuinely impressed you got through two episodes. I tapped out after the first.

This isn’t uncommon with Thai productions. Middleman’s Love is the example that immediately comes to mind to me for this sort of thing.

Pilots and Trailers in Thailand are NOT indicative of being a sneak peek at the finished series that will air as they are in the west. Pilots and Trailers (used interchangeably here) are more like marketing pitches. They do a short to give a sense of the story and look then put it out there to see what the interest is in the project. If there is enough fan interest AND enough interest from financial backers/sponsors then it gets made.

Some shows go into production years after their trailer is out. Some it’s only months. As a result casting can change for myriad reasons, including scheduling conflicts, actors only being contracted for the pilot or not being interested in taking part in the full series.

The amount of love I had for Mike in Twins is just irrational. I need to see Ten thriving in so many more roles in the future.

I really hope to see Frame again in something soon. Especially something with good writing. I think he has a lot of promise.

I genuinely hope someone casts Ryan in a lead role with good writing. He’s done so well with below average writing, imagine if he had something decent to work with.

I disagree about First and Soong. Specifically because First is pretty consistently the sub in their dynamic. In this episode he forced Soong into the sub position and we’ve never seen Soong be a masochist, only First. Just because someone gets off on one role doesn’t mean they get off on or even vaguely enjoy the other.

Agreed. This was usual Captain behavior with Keen. Keen deserves much better, he’s actually a decent guy. He just won’t admit Captain is trash and will continue to do this to him.

Zouey’s revenge was definitely not revenge. but I don’t think he was still really mad at Teena by then. it was more playful revenge than anything else.
