Did they change it so the pyramid game is school-wide rather than just in the elite class? 🤔 That would change dynamics and seemingly make it harder to justify no one ever intervening.
uh, really? Really you don’t know? You don’t see how terrible the writing was? how the editing was so bad that even the audio was FUBAR in one episode? Or how they just totally jump scenes and we need to assume what happened off screen even when what happened off screen is too big to leave that as an offscreen assumption? how about all the loose character threads?
no. iQIYI is as uncut as it gets. they have never said they cut a bunch of stuff out, it’s just my theory given the state of the series and how many things don’t add up
I strongly believe they cut a lot of material out after it started airing because someone somewhere decided they didn’t like the actual story. because it wasn’t such a mess in the beginning. I wrote like an essay for a review bc of this
Top, Tee, Por, Jin and Fluke were all friends throughout highschool that's why they're at Por's vacation home.…
Also note that in the present day they are all in university. White went to a different high school and started dating Tee then but are still together now in uni.
I don’t agree with the idea that Non deserves a boyfriend who will care more and take care of him better. While…
I do like Phee but I’m not offended by your opinion of him. To be honest, I don’t think anyone can “take care of” Non. Non’s trauma can’t be fixed by a boyfriend, it has to be worked through and fixed by himself. I think Phee was as supportive as Non would allow him to be so I don’t feel like I can say if his support is good enough or not. I’m not terribly invested in anyone winding up together tbh.
I don't mind Phee and Jin as a couple. Mostly because if Non is still alive, he deserves better boyfriend, someone…
I don’t agree with the idea that Non deserves a boyfriend who will care more and take care of him better. While I don’t agree with Phee’s reaction to Non when he saw the sex tape, his emotions were high and I could understand that the words he said likely weren’t what he would have said if he was calmer. However, putting that emotional reaction aside, how could Phee have been a better boyfriend to Non? He got his dad to help get him out of trouble with the horse accounts once he knew about them. He asked if there was anything else. He asked Non to promise not to keep things from him, which Non did promise. He asked about the teacher and believed what Non told him.
At no point before the sex tape did Phee turn his back on Non, refuse to listen to him or refuse him help. However Non repeatedly chose to keep what was happening to him and what he was going through from Phee. As a result I don’t see how you come to the conclusion that Phee was the bad boyfriend here.
The writing team on this show deserves all the props in the world. Seriously, so often I see shows where the writing is the downfall and even capable actors cannot elevate it. To have a show this well written is like water in the desert. One of the four writers seems to exclusively write horror & thriller work and I think that prowess really shines through here.
Maybe I'm stupid but i have a question; what about the text Him gets (i think it was ep 1 or 2, i can't really…
My honest assumption the entire series was that Blue attempted but failed to complete suicide and was actually alive somewhere. I suspect that was the original plot but they changed it. It makes ZERO sense for Blue to actually be dead when none of his friends (including Him!) acts like he is. How did he kill himself and Dream and Chao don’t even know? Was his death just swept under the rug? Then how does Te know about it? How does Him even know about it when his parents were so against the relationship??
I think Blue was supposed to be alive but his parents transferred schools or sent him abroad or he was in an in-patient facility and was supposed to come back at some point. It would explain a lot of the little comments people who knew him made about wanting him back in the band and stuff. It would also explain why the series just runs out of plot steam pretty abruptly around episode 8 or so, shifts to a ChaoPhai dominant story focus and just sort of meanders and goes to hell.
I wonder if someone decided that plot was somehow too dark or too mature and forced them to change midway through. It would also explain why the problems with the show are largely in editing and story but editing got really bad. Also might explain why we suddenly went down to 25 min episodes from 40 if they were just cutting material and trying to figure out what else they could make after everything was shot.
the show starts off okay. gets a little better. then gets tossed into a wood chipper. by around episode six you get exhausted and by eight or nine you’re not sure why you keep watching but figure you should see how the rest of the train wreck goes. and every week you regret sticking around but keep doing it.
Nont and Zouey being the gay fairy tickle torture twins? Just…what? why is Nont so very campy gay about this whole investigative process? I can’t. 🤣
Zouey and the violin and the scene with First….Zouey why are you so sus?
the fist fights. the torture scenes. the hostage taking. and it’s like fluffiest gay shit ever to watch. How am I supposed to take them seriously? Not a single one of these boys has an air of authority and harashness about them. Could we get Prom to lead the interrogations maybe?
I thought New, Non’s brother, was in university though. Did I just make that up in my head because he’s studying…
Okay I’m tracking where you’re coming from. I can’t quite get myself on board your theory train but I’m curious to see if you wind up right or not.
i thought of the same thing. the ending kinda implies that jin will be the only survivor but if jin survives fluke…
it’s not as bad, no, but he’s just as culpable for sitting there and allowing the web of lies to start that caught that guy. Eapecially since he likely wouldn’t have been as tight lipped if it was one of his friends getting the blame for something Non did.
We must be watching two different shows because I’ve seen Jin tell his friends to stop being dicks to Non, to…
I also considered that Jin may be friends with them to avoid being bullied by them. He is obviously newer to the group since he doesn’t know why people call Non “Greasy” or dislike him. Jin appears, to me, to be a relatively soft, sweet guy initially. My working theory is he was befriended because he was useful to one of them for some reason (maybe good grades or good at a subject they suck in?) and wound up liking being accepted and having a group (so typical of teenagers right?). And when he realized they were the sort to bully people he stayed for self-preservation. Because they are less likely to turn on their own, right? They’ve certainly proven through the series that’s true. Or he just liked being part of the cool kid crew with rich Por and Tee who has that hot cool guy vibe.
I dislike Fluke SO MUCH. People let him off the hook bc he “stays neutral” or “is just on the sidelines.” But more than anyone, his inaction enables the continuously escalating behavior around him. He is ultimately selfish, out to not get involved because it doesn’t serve him to. People are selfish, you have to look out for yourself, that’s fair. But he is the object lesson of “all it takes for evil to win is for good men to stand by and do nothing” (paraphrasing, I know I didn’t get the quote perfectly).

White seems so genuinely innocent. It seems easy to think he’s really just the boyfriend that came along. But he’s SO innocent and clingy with Tee that I don’t believe he isn’t also in on it with Phee and Tan somehow.
You genuinely don’t see ANY of that?
At no point before the sex tape did Phee turn his back on Non, refuse to listen to him or refuse him help. Enjoy the ride?
