done with this ep...that mountain scene with the moon above them was so beautiful 🥺 when zhu yan asked shi ying why he cares so much about the people and shi ying answered it's because she's among them 🥹 although he immediately inserted her parents, relatives, etc. etc bc he's afraid he'll be seen through.. at least that's one of the moments we see shi ying being most honest about his feelings. i hope he doesn't restrain himself too much from expressing it, especially to zhu yan.

the character design is only similar (and it isn't unique to be honest) but in terms of the character itself, they have contrasting personalities. so i have no idea what you're talking about. and the film you mentioned is based on a popular chinese folktale so it's not like it's original itself?

also if you're talking about plagiarism, accuse the author of the novel, which this drama was originally adapted from, instead

on another note, you can tell how both characters are flawed and with time, you'll see their growth so maybe we'll just have to wait

exactly...he's inconsistent and really can't make up his mind. his resolution in keeping himself away from zhu yan is so weak. he keeps pulling himself away and then when zhu yan shows up, it's all back to zero again.

this drama just keeps dragging this push and pull between the leads when there could've already been a big scene where shi ying becomes actually firm on a decision and doesn't waver at all, seeing how we're already more than halfway in in this drama

finished ep 25...that "bed scene" was hilarious 🤣 i just know shi ying was tempted
