The issue might be billing. This is a female led drama and he’s too “big/popular” of an actor to take on an essentially supporting role.

It’s the dimples and big features. Her face is more petite but I kinda see it.

I definitely get where you’re coming from. I think the editing of this drama in the first few eps really makes it hard for the audience to connect with the characters and their pain. But it’s good that you’re continuing.

I will always defend my girl, she can do no wrong. He Yan, because of her upbringing, is supposed to be smart on the battlefield, but very naive with everything else. ZY’s portrayal is perfect so far, adorable yet strategic. Don’t pay attention to those haters always trying to find anything to negatively impact actresses. It’s one the worst aspects of C-ent, their misogyny.

They did a face change for him and his character is still there throughout the first few eps so he’s not the reason for the short eps.

I agree, the episodes are a bit too fast paced and it being 35 minutes really don’t give the actors enough time to build these characters (in the first 4 eps). But yeah, they’re beautiful to look at and they’re trying their best ok?! 😂

Her acting is so natural in LOFG, glad she’s improved so much over the last couple of years. She’s one of actresses that started out too strong with her debut being Wei Lai, so people hold her to a different standard. But it’s been so fun watching her grow as an actress.

There are minor issues with editing and quite a few changes from the novel. But it’s super fast paced and really fun. Zhou Ye is adorable and boyishly charming. 11/10, some of yall can never make me hate this drama.

It’s always been 36 eps, the 40 was what people assumed.

Gone are the days where period dramas are expected to be 40 eps. Moving forward, most long dramas will be 24 to 30 eps, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s only 26 eps for this one.

The other guy is the second male lead. The drama is very different from the novel so until the script gets released we’re not going to know the details of every scene.

When I catch the writer of this drama’s ending, it’s on sight. Just why? Haven’t they suffered enough?

Half way through the show, and her cousin is such a sad hoe. The fact that he’s still yearning for his demon performer dead wife when he knew her for like 2 days and she tried to kill his family. Like dude get over yourself, so lovebrained. The cases, I feel like could also be shorter and more concise, but everything is really fun so far.

Why can’t we have both?

Bi Zhi looks like he needs some vitamins or a lip tint. Boy looks sickly the minute he made his first appearance.

The mystery continues with this show. But I think the director has a long term filming relationship with Iqiyi so this show might be there. Guess we will know more once they finish filming.
