I think JM is dumber than XJ. Like, XJ hurt SF because there was a bunch of evidence, peer pressure, him lying to her. JM hurt XF because one of dream bubble.

Title Good Bye, My Princess Spoiler
But...It doesn't end sadly..........
Oh yeah I thought you were disappointed that the ending for L&R wasn't sad. Overall, both shows are super tragic, though the tragedy that occurs in GMP is one of personal choice, not of fate (like L&R's tragedy). I do agree that the tragedy vibes are different though. L&R's tragedy vibes are more like "poor Sifeng" vibes. They're very in your face about how tragic and epic this love is (which is totally cool too). In GMP it's more subtle, and the reason they can never be together is sewn not only into their past memories, but his personality and need for power. Unlike XJ and SF whose main problem comes from misunderstanding and lack of knowledge about one's feelings, XF and LCY's main problem is LCY. But like, they are arguably the two most tragic/heart wrenching cdramas out there, so people who like GMP will most probably like L&R despite the subtle difference in "tragedy vibes".

Okay just rewatched AOL and honestly still don’t know what the last 2 realms are??!
OH MY GOD ME TOO!!!! One of the reasons I kept on watching was because I was super curious about what the other realms would be (I thought they'd like go to the other realms or something) and like... nothing. Traditionally though, it would be the spirit realm and the ghost realm.

oh my god fans can be insane sometimes. I literally get headaches reading their comments. I usually try to ignore them, but seeing this is just so heartbreaking... why can't we all just enjoy something we love without having to rip apart something we don't like?

what episode are you on? We all think Teng She is awesome!
they might be talking about Xiao Yinhua (Sifeng's pet).

This drama was supposed to have 72 episodes air but then it changed twice with 59 episodes airing instead
Yeah I know. I wish it had 72 episodes haha.
On Love and Redemption Sep 19, 2020
I know everyone hates long dramas but I kind of wished that there were 70 episodes? Like, I feel like if there were 70 episodes a lot of things would make more sense and the ending wouldn't be as rushed. (I selfishly want the 9 lives to be more detailed).

I'm fine with like one or two horror dark theme ones, and while yes I get super scared too, I feel like the celebrities…
Oof okay then yeah I do wish they could get rid of some of the dark scenes if it could cause injury. I feel like it's fine to have like half the season be sort of horror (since most of them aren't really "horror" at all), but the black outs are kind of dangerous. Though, I do have to assume that DL and YM like know that there will be a lot of blackouts and are okay with that. I didn't watch season 1 yet (haha I watched this season because of Guo Qilin), but if there is are more problem-solving things then I'm excited.
On Great Escape Season 2 Sep 18, 2020
If you guys like this show because of the problem-solving aspect you should watch the "大神版" or like big brain version of this show. It's subbed (?) on YouTube (don't take that as a granted though). IT's basically the exact same problems and scenarios but the big brain people (they aren't really celebrities) go through it much faster and sometimes have different approaches to problems.

i hope MGTV production team stop making this horror-dark theme. firstly, we can't really see the member's face…
I'm fine with like one or two horror dark theme ones, and while yes I get super scared too, I feel like the celebrities and us, as an audience, know that it'll probably be scary so it's not like they're forcing it upon us. (So I don't think it's really "playing with people's fear". But also, my favorite episode was episode 3 (it was so funny), and coincidentally, it was one of the ones without the scary dark theme. And, yeah, another problem, as you said, is that because they add the scary stuff, they have to take away some of the problem solving stuff. (Though, I do think the scary stuff in episode 5-6 was okay, since it was central to the whole problem and made for a cool logic/war strategy episode).

LYF is okay. I think ZYC is better at acting, but I don't think LYF is like as bad as some other idol actors out there.

Title Love and Redemption Spoiler
Oh thank God! Finally someone gets it. I have been reading so many comments regarding the comparison between L&R…
The plots are different but the setup is extremely similar. Also besides that the themes and genres are also pretty similar. They're both epic xianxias involving a lot of tragedy, fate, (also the whole FL doesn't know love thing), misunderstandings, love triangles, deities and demons, human trials and schemes. Even the whole structure is pretty similar - ML meets FL, ML falls in love with FL, misunderstanding (in AoL it's about who FL is, in LR it's about who she likes), resolution, more misunderstanding, brief moment of happiness, more misunderstanding, FL "betrays" or "misunderstands" ML, she makes up for it, happy ending etc etc. I like Xuanji so much more than Jinmi too, and I also like LR more than AoL, but like, I can definitely see why people think the dramas are similar. (Also, the same actress plays both JM and XJ's mom, and the guy who plays the heavenly emperor in AoL plays XJ's dad in LR, and both MLs have the "phoenix" character in their name).

Wait Dijun died? I thought he just got stripped of his cultivation and had to relearn while in the human realm. I actually felt kind of bad for Luohuo Jidu because like everyone only liked him because either they liked Xuanji or they were using him, and yeah because he was the biggest victim of all.

Not a character per se, but the whole demons are evil and gods are good thing. Obviously Bailin isn't exactly a saint, and Sifeng isn't a villain. The drama also picks apart several so called "good people" who, while not inherently evil, shouldn't be labeled good just because they're part of an orthodox sect.

三观 is kind of like morals (from what I understand). China loves when shows have the correct morals and encourage right behavior. For example, I would say that this show encourages people to look beyond just stereotypes, and also shows the power of love. That aligns very much with good morals and righteous behavior, so many people would say "三观很正 (literally meaning morals are straight)". If a show encourages bad behavior people would say "毁三观 (or destroying morals)".

That would be such a great idea and it feels like one that really aligns with the "三观" that Chinese people hold high. Despite there being quite a few complex and nearing evil characters in drama, like Run Yu, Gong Zi, Li Chengyin, none of them really changed because of love. They may have been deeply in love, but at the end of the day, at least Gong Zi and Li Chengyin held power higher than love.
