Episode 10 of IAGW was awesome, right? :D I don't know what people are smoking when they say it's draggy or w/e lol

They're not...they've always been 60-90 minutes long, depending on the episode.

There's a lot of focus on the friendships, it's not supposed to be exploding with sexual tension in every scene. IMO, recent episodes have been consistently good and even going uphill in terms of character development and plot devices.

If you don't like it then it doesn't matter how many episodes there are. I personally love the characters and the writing and I'd be very happy if it had 20-35 episodes. There's actually lots of conflicts in every episode, it's just that they're more slice of life than most dramas.
You're not going to get a fast-paced and overdramatic Kdrama-like style in this, and that's the charm of this show. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but that doesn't make it bad.

Those 60-90 minutes long episodes should be 20 or 30 at most. It's such a bore when there's so little chemistry between them

Thank you for the Jdrama awards! 2013 was a great year for Jdramas ^^ You should definitely watch Hard Nut, it's short but it's really funny and well-executed

I personally didn't really like ITWY, but I thought it was nice as a type of alternative to typical dramas and their cliches, you know what I mean? It's cute and there's some nice moments, but that's about it. There's too much ~fortune cookie wisdom~ in it too lol it can get pretty cheesy

I'm also trying to find a replacement for IAGW orzz;; it's a bit like a Japanese drama in a way, like how they focus on a group of friends and keep the conflicts simple and relateable, I wish more dramas did that

May I suggest some dramas from your PTW list then? Some of my faves: Maou, Love Shuffle, Orange Days, and you'll probably like Liar Game, Buzzer Beat, and Kurosagi too ^^

tbh, those are cultural differences that mostly exist because of different patriarchal values and Confucianist traditions (especially in Korea). It's not so much about showing feelings, rather it's more about adhering to gender roles in a relationship/family in a conservative sense. And those "Western dating show" answers you mentioned are typically more about societal expectations, it's not really an honest expression on their part and it shouldn't be criticized even if it were as such.

Also Shotenin Michiru no Minoue Banashi (http://mydramalist.com/japanese-drama/5474/shotenin-michiru-no-mi-no-ue-hanashi)...people were probably put off by the anti-hero and the lack of likeable characters in general lol
