Why is the rating so low? I like this one more than Reply 1997. It has more spotlight on every characters.
...on MDL or actual viewer ratings? The ratings are actually pretty good for a cable-channel drama (i.e. tvN) ^^ And the score on MDL will probably go up in a few eps once the story focuses more on the OTPs
np ^^ I think there was a lot of positive feedback from viewers and critics too. And yes, you have to watch Ashida Mana in this drama, she's absolutely amazing.
lol it was so confusing seeing him talk to his brother from Kazoku Game like a normal human being

I think Mother (2010) is a more compelling story overall, it's a lot more fast-paced in comparison to Woman (2013). It's weird the main character's biological mother is the same actress in both dramas, but I guess it works because she's good at that role. Ashida Mana was also really great, she's probably one of the best child actresses I've seen in a Jdrama. So yeah, give it a try sometime ^^

I can assure you that most people want an honest and critical look at the drama rather than a brief overview (and you do a very good job of doing just that :D)
Hmm...so far tbh I think the Kdramas I'm watching are showing some potential, but they're not really all that enjoyable as of yet. Woman (Jdrama) is really good, I want to watch the last episodes sometime soon.
How about you? and is there anything on your PTW list that you're looking forward to watching in the near future?

np ^^ Your other reviews are also great. I really appreciate your honesty and in-depth critical analysis of the dramas' various elements, especially since you're usually right on the mark

hmm I'm always in denial whenever there's a sad ending, so I like to think she stayed alive but lost the baby.
and yeah, the conflicts were too messy and melodramatic in tone by the end of the drama. It kind of took some of the charm away because the escape+crazy fiance+unplanned pregnancy were really clichéd.
p.s. - Have you ever watched Queen In-hyun's Man? I rewatched some highlights yesterday and I swear I still love that drama so much

Cool ^^ hopefully you'll like them (even though The Quiz Show is more on the odd side, not really everyone's cup of tea)
Yeah, in the last few episodes I think the writers didn't even know what to do with the story anymore :/ too bad, it started off strong
I've heard about that one, I'll make sure to watch it sometime, thanks ^^
If you liked Liar Game, you might like The Quiz Show and Maou, imo
I really liked the Jdrama Mother (2010), it was great from start to end

same ^^ I usually try to find dramas that are slice-of-life and about interesting situations (so mostly Jdramas). but I also like kdrama rom-com sometimes :D how about you?
What about Tae Gong Sil from Master's Sun? I loved how in the beginning she found this guy that can make her world…
But why did she need a man to become all of that? tbh I found it sad how the ghosts "went away" as soon as she held onto his arm, as if she can't be independent without a man and get rid of them on her own.

Yeah, because I still really liked it overall ^^ they had a lot of chemistry.
I haven't watched that Yamapi drama, but I heard it wasn't that great :( too bad
Liar Game is awesome :D and Devil Beside You will always be one of my faves
Some of those characters are pseudo-strong female leads. They have just the right amount of traits to make them likeable while still remaining mostly submissive damsels-in-distress. It would be nicer to see complex characters who do more than just bicker and pout tbh
P.S - A woman doesn't need to "take it like a man" to be strong (and who's to say men are strong by nature? those are all societal expectations...)
