You should know that he reviews other cringe dramas with good reviews. But good dramas are reviewed poorly. It's…
That's interesting, but I dont mind cringe when done right. My problem is when a drama is to be taken seriously but doesn't commit to being serious (whether it be an issue with the script, direction, acting or editing). As I said in my response, I think this drama has all the right pieces to be great but I could not get over the pieces that, to me, don't connect.

You captured this perfectly, production is great, premise is promising but between the sibling angle, the childish portrayal and other-ness portrayal of Thailand, it was a hard watch. Only got to episode 4 before I put it on hold. I fear I will be dropping it.

Title The Double Spoiler
I was wondering why they opened the episode talking about Tong er's future but was so excited to see how Ji shuran's…
Right! I dont know how I ignored it. Cause in my mind, this is 28/40, the ring leaders aren't completely cornered yet so I brushed it off and was not expecting her death at all.

Title The Double Spoiler
i was so distraught i didn’t catch what happened to shuran. is she exiled from the jiang house now? is she on…
I was wondering why they opened the episode talking about Tong er's future but was so excited to see how Ji shuran's plans were gonna be spoiled that I ignored the foreshadowing😭

As for Ji Shuran, it seems they finally believe that she was the reason behind the first daughter and wife's death, so at the very least she has been kicked out. I hope when her daughter wakes she tells them the truth. Hopefully the fact that her mom drugged her should scare her enough to come out with it all

Questions for people who watched: Is the show over? Is it worth it? I don’t want toxic female lead trash. I…
It is over, and it is very funny. I'd say give it a try.

Right. They tried to make it emotional and climatic but it just reads as a mess.
He does kinda look like he's having fun. The last episodes just has everyone acting out of character

The ending feels so… unfulfilling. Like many things were left out or was just not built up right. I feel like they could have kept some of the same plot points and still ended it better. The balance of characters, motivations, and storylines was all wrong. Yung Hua was barely on screen and when he was, everything was somehow profound or mysterious, Qin Shi's internal and external conflicts were vague or were brought across very flatly. And for whatever reason they brought back Meimei and Wenyu just as I was being thankful that they had minimal screen time… it was just… bland and disconnected. It just feels… unfinished.

I still enjoyed this overall but dang.

Title Summer Strike Spoiler
I see why so many persons are saying they hate the first episode. It really does come off like a dark comedy at certain parts (see her crossing a wide intersection in moving traffic to get coffee for her boss). 14 minutes in, and I too was exhausted with her, as the ex-bf said. I know how suffocating her circumstance can be, but whatever it is that makes episode 1 so unbelievable (as @Kate said below the overexaggerated and quick dump of problems instead of fleshing them out) kinda takes the focus away from the actual issues she is facing and just makes her look bad.

Either way, I'm looking forward to her story. And I love that she exposed the team lead before she left.

I've only watched the 1st ep & she's irking me already. She's the one that seems arrogant to me. Thinking he's…
Fair enough. I hate the way they are portraying editing and her company… Overall, a lot of substance is missing from this drama. But because I like the ML, I've resolved to just look the other way and hope they don't dumb down all the characters. His smile, the restaurant owner, her uncle and photographer bestfriend are all that's keeping me here tbh.

Yep, they are definitely sacrificing her character to feed the trope

She knows all that she needs to to realize that he has been very helpful. As @elie808 says, I think they are just playing into the trope, and are trying to make her smart and dumb all at once. Case in point ****slight spoiler ahead***

She sits with her feet in the tub, with her laptop on her lap, answers the phone and starts gesturing and would you know it! Her laptop fell in. And who just happens to be in the hotel room next door? Our ML ofc. Pointless dumb plotline.

The fact that the ML is nice is this drama's saving grace.

Up to episode 5: ML is such a sweetheart. He smiles so easily and is genuinely nice for niceness’s sake (he's not cruel or mean at work either). FL holding a grudge even though he had been nothing but helpful to her was irking me, but I’m starting to like her. She is clearly a competent writer/editor, and treats everyone else quite well, so it's just a matter of them starting off on the wrong foot.

Their dynamic thus far is pleasant and playful, and his crush on her is adorable.

I feel similar. I don’t have an issue with age gaps, but here he’s 19 years old, and like you said, fresh…
😲 Well… I'm going to try it… Hopefully it doesn't get too weird.

You can watch with no problems. Though she is eight years older than him he is twenty at the time they get together.
Ohkay thanks for the response. Knowing he's twenty feels a little better. I'll have to give it a try.
