Meaning, their conversation happened only after months had passed after the incident not years, and after that exact conversation they had he went to completely search for his soul in mountains and seas which took 3 years. Exactly just like you understood too.

Yeah that confused me to when you mentioned it, because I thought the same as you. ZYC searched for ZYZ soul for 3 years, regarding the age matter it must not have been international age but rather their lunar age, hence, even if it was just 3 years, ZYC is already 30 y.o in lunar year.
