His acting is truly superb and no easy feat, he must have conditioned himself a lot to really bring life to Zhu Yan. Notice how easily he transitions his emotions from heavy emotions to lighter ones so convincingly, and not to mention how his eyes truly reflected the raw feelings of Zhu Yan in that exact split moment. I still felt the sadness even if I merely re-watched that specific scene alone. HMH really connected well with his character.

open-ending since an extra episode added, the ending is rather bittersweet, but it leads to a hopeful conclusion

I heard about that drama too but I haven't watched it either, I have so little time 🥺....it's okay, I can understand too much information can get in the way, often times our axons must be so exhausted already 😂...oh that's more bearable to watch since 34 episodes, I could probably watch that first

I just rewatched a scene of Wen Xiao and Zhao Yuanzhou on episode 6. The scene when Zhao Yuanzhou's feelings grew for Wen Xiao as more than a friend and fainted as he violated one of their contract's term. I remember watching this same scene the first time around, I thought it was very funny then and how overdramatic Zhao Yuanzhou was when he kept pretending to be so weak just so he could lean on Wen Xiao, now watching this scene at present made me only sadder. He might have been joking during this moment but now it seemed like he wasn't, he was actually really crying when he told Wen Xiao not to be too sad for him and how he'd turn into rain to accompany her. Zhao Yuanzhou's jokes masked his truths, they were his coping mechanism 😭💔

I remember about that too being mentioned in earlier episodes as they said two swords were made of Yinglong's own horns. However, with how I connected that piece of information to the revelation of Yinglong and Bingyi's past story, there was never two swords to begin with. The truth everyone knew was disoriented - including what Zhao Yuanzhou knew. Everyone thought of Yinglong as an evil demon that got killed by Bingyi. Even Zhao Yuanzhou knew Yinglong as someone who turned evil, if you remember the scene when he was trying to explain history to Wen Xiao, Pei Sijing and Ying Lei since they wanted to repair the cloud light sword. The actual real truth about Yinglong and the cloud light sword only got revealed when Yinglong himself gave both Zhao Yuanzhou and Zhou Yichen a test. It was mentioned by Yinglong himself how he forged the cloud light sword ; two swords fused into one, the cloud sword made from his bones and the light sword made from his horn. To further support this claim, when Zhao Yuanzhou made Zhou Yichen see Bingyi's sword technique only one sword was shown. When the Yinglong and Bingyi's past were revealed only one sword was shown. Lastly, when Zhou Yichen saw the future, only one sword was shown yet again. It's not that they forgot about the other sword, but the information they knew about the truth was false until Zhao Yuanzhou and Zhou Yichen learnt about the truth.

I actually love MJTY a lot, it was the reason why I got into FOF because I thought they give off the same vibe but I didn't expect to end up loving FOF more now. Yes, you will enjoy it too even if it might not be like FOF.

oh that's a bit confusing to follow since someone mentioned above that love line of FL character has been changed here, I guess I would take this as rather a different series then

their love story is truly beautiful despite it being sad, at least ZYZ fulfilled his promise to accompany WX whenever it rains 🥺❤️‍🩹

Sadly, I don't think there is a cdrama out there that comes close to FOF but I would still give you some recommendations from my faves.

1. Love & Redemption
- a drama that is a bit close to FOF
- wuxia & xianxia genre with mythical creatures too
- cinematography is on the lighter side
- friendship journey, ML shares tragic and sad life like ZYZ, there is a bit of bromance towards the end between FL's past life and the villain of the drama (you'd get it when you watch).
- this one has a bit more romance and a kissing scene between ML & FL

2. Til The End of The Moon
- no bromance
- wuxia & xianxia genre
- ML shares same tragic fate as ZYZ

3. My Journey to You
- a bit of bl/gl too
- wuxia and same cinematography as it is directed by GJM
- the fight scenes here is really good too, FL is a spy

I haven't watch these dramas yet, but a friend of mine who is also into BL suggested these two:
