Title Fangs of Fortune Spoiler
...whether it's worth it? I read that there is no kiss and no happy ending... my heart can't take a bad ending…
You're welcome! ❀️
oh I see, you definitely should give both of these dramas a try...if you don't mind slow burn trope or no skinship type of love then I think you will be able to enjoy the romance aspect in these dramas πŸ€—

I suggest you give this one a try. I am like you, I only watch romantic genre dramas if that genre isn't involved, I wouldn't bother watching it at all. Somehow, for this drama despite the romance not being the overall sole focus of the story and how the leads had no kissing scene. I ended up loving the romance aspect because of the chemistry between both leads, Neo and Dudu. They might not have intimate skinships but you can feel their chemistry through their playful banters, bold flirting and heartfelt conversation. Most of us who enjoyed the romance aspect of this drama call them the old married couple/parents of this show as they give off such vibes. The romance trope leans to slow burn trope and leads do profess their love in a unique way by using other words instead of a simple I love you. Idk if you've watched the double, but the romance aspect there is almost the same as this one the only difference is this will be portrayed as an everlasting love (you'll know why in the end). As for the ending, it might not be a happy one but it was left open-ended so it gave a sort of bittersweet feeling. The ending matched well with the whole narrative of this drama. The deaths weren't in vain but they were all significant and meaningful.

Googled flowers that ZYZ is holding when he meets WX years later. Look what I found. Chamelaucium or Geraldton…
Such a meaningful summary of how their relationship exactly is, and the jade pendant he carved actually had another meaning in chinese, it is said to also mean 'indestructability' apart from purity. Their love is so deeply beautiful ....not to forget how where his piece of soul resided instead of wandering the vast world πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜πŸ€

Hi @xuehua , I looked everywhere but couldn't find it. How could there be an aunt-nephew relationship between…
Hello! regarding your question about the aunt-nephew relationship between Wen Xiao and Zhou Yichen. Both of them aren't actually related by blood. Simply they are a community family or fictive kins. Zhou Yichen's real family had been massacred hence leaving him as the sole bingyi blood-carrier. On the other hand, Wen Xiao was taken care of by her master Wan Er when her father got killed by a demon when she was very young. The two of them only met when Zhao Yuanzhou left Wen Xiao at the Demon Hunting Bureau. As a result, they ended up sharing childhood memories together. The foster father of Wen Xiao had no blood relation to Zhou Yichen either, so there was no clear relationship that was shown about him and Zhou Yichen. It's definite they aren't blood related, but what we can assume is that the only reason Wen Xiao is considered an Aunt for Zhou Yichen is because she holds the highest rank as her foster father is the leader of the Demon Hunting Bureau and Zhou Yichen's rank is lower than Wen Xiao. Hope this helps! and thank you 😊

come to think of it, the first happy meal that our little family of misfits had together also turned out to be their last 😭

Your review captured the romance between Wen Xiao and Zhao Yuanzhou beautifully 🌸!
couldn't agree more with this line:
"The emotional bond between Zhao Yuanzhou and Wen Xiao is undeniably the heart of this drama"

D-2 since FOF ended and I am missing our old married couple. How do we move on, knowing ZYZ's dream is for a peaceful and carefree life did come true but at the expense of him not being able to be with WX to witness all that πŸ’”

This is my first time learning about the mistreatment he went through. He definitely didn't deserve to experience…
that's upsetting, I hope he gets to sign with a better agency πŸ™

After reading this again…Wonder if this is also why WenXiao is badly written. Heck, even an alternate name for…
From the get-go, I knew this was a male-centric drama (regardless if it is BL or not) so I kinda knew FL character here will definitely be in some way treated unfairly. I think this has been a consistent pattern in c-drama industry, directors always tend to sabotage FL characters in some way or another as they ought to make ML characters shine more. But, in those other male-centric dramas I had watched, even the badly written FL character can get more screentime and enough focus in the storyline. While here, despite Wen Xiao being a well-written character irrespective of physical strength, the screen time and focus on her character is evidently lacking. She really got treated unfairly πŸ₯²

Yeah they should, but I think one of the reason why his agency isn't taking action could be because they don't want to make a big deal out of this (but this is a big deal). I mean, they maybe have an idea of what is happening but Neo might not have wanted for this to escalate and affect his work here. Hence, he rather endure it all. In c-ent industry, actors can get quickly cancelled even over the littlest things. Right. I hope he doesn't go through all of this again in future, crossing fingers that the director of love in clouds treats him well.

I was planning to watch Dashing Youth, I can't believe he got sabotaged there as well. Makes me question why they are doing that to him. I watched all interviews, bts clips, show guesting and any other content FOF cast have. I think Neo has a good personality in real life, he is caring towards his cast mates and is respectful. I'm not a fan of him, but this is what i've observed from watching all these contents, so I don't get why he is getting these type of bad treatment from directors when he isn't a problematic artist to begin with. Like, I would get the director for scolding him if he was unprofessional or have a bad/problematic attitude when filming but if he is doing his work well, that doesn't make sense to me. He is definitely bullied. I'm happy for him about that too, karma does work well.

Yeah. I thought so too, seeing his Weibo post about Zhao Yuanzhou especially that one lengthy post, it's a special character for him. Knowing what he went through for this role he loved is so heartbreaking. He deserved better.

I just hope he doesn't get trauma out of these mistreatments he went through. He definitely endured everything by himself. I honestly think there is more to this, knowing how notorious some cdrama directors - specifically GJM could be.
