same thoughts, her character wasn't badly written but it's the evident lack of screen time and focus on her character in the storyline that made her not shine as much as the others.

This is my first time learning about the mistreatment he went through. He definitely didn't deserve to experience all of that. I remember watching an interview of him with Dudu, he expressed how he watched all GJM's works and liked it. Zhao Yuanzhou for him is a role which he thought of expanding his acting skills. He liked his role too. It's sad to hear what he went through for this role. I personally think his efforts and hard work didn't go in vain in this drama, his acting skills and how he brought life to his role as Zhao Yuanzhou really stood out for me. I think lots of other people whether fans or none fans noticed that too. So, no matter how director tried to sabotaged him, his acting never fell short instead he shined in this drama. Although such unfortunate events happened, his professionalism and dedication to his craft as an actor is truly commendable.

So far, I don't see that as being the same case in this comment section. Most people who shared their opinions about the romance aspect in this drama, whether a want for more screen time or a kiss scene had been solely an expression. No one ever targeted the actors or actresses, even the drama itself isn't being ridiculed for that.

I for one, appreciated the romantic scenes we got between the leads here, as I saw the romance between them like you. However, I still wanted at least more screen time or at least a kiss scene from them (there was supposed to be one shown in the bts scenes but it got cut), expressing that doesn't necessarily lead to me seeing the romance aspect lacking. It meant, I saw the romance and liked it, and wanted more. Simple as that. People will always have different opinions whether you like it or not. Having such opinions or expressing such ideas is a normal thing.

I got that idea from your comment alone, it came off totally offensive. You were blatantly labeling everyone who liked the romance as obsessed people. If your comment had been more specific instead of generalizing everyone as obsessed, then it would have been better perceived.

I don't see how liking romance or wanting for a kiss scene could equate to an obsession. I think everyone has a right to enjoy their own personal preferences, and the hype for what they like about a drama. People who liked the romance part in this drama more shouldn't be downgraded for such thing they enjoy. Like c'mon this is all just for entertainment purposes only, and we find joy in these discussions why make a big deal out of it lol

I've been seeing their bts clips on Weibo it seems a lot of their scenes together were cut, they even had a kiss scene there. Sadly, I don't think they'd do that.

I get your point! I agree with you too, they could've done that. However, the main focus is really centered around Zhu Yan. So, that ending they gave had more significance for Zhu Yan as a character. I had no problem with how Wen Xiao's character was written, the only problem I had with her character is her lack of screen time and how most of the time, the storylines focus wasn't on her. Which is why I wish they could've given her a bit more focus and added an epic moment for her at the end at least.

I would've liked that ending too and consider it semi-happy ending because atleast both of them died together, Zhu Yan wouldn't be so lonely when he already spent most his life in loneliness. But then again, Zhu Yan wouldn't have any reasons to die for, because the ever-burning wood that causes him to go on a rampage had been removed from his body. Hence, his death now were for 2 greater causes: 1) to save his love one, 2) to save the people from being demonized. Zhu Yan's been the vessel for malicious energy and as he explained, the power of the Baize Token can only be maximized with the existence of a stronger malicious energy, and Wen Xiao's tears were also a form of power that could clear evilness. The Baize Tokens power inherently co-exist with the malicious energy as it serves its purpose to control it only when it becomes stronger, otherwise without it, it weakens. So, if Wen Xiao died too, there would be no one to use the maximized Baize Tokens power and Zhu Yan's death would be sort of wasted then. The ending we got now stuck with the whole narrative of the storyline which is Yinglong & Zhu Yan's shared tragic fate. Yinglong turned into stars to bring brightness to the world, Zhu Yan turned into rain with the help of the Baize token's power to bring pureness and clear evilness.
