Also lets get one thing out of the way - him getting together with the FL wouldn't have made him a "not upright" person or bad person. The FL is an adult in the drama and the ML had a wife who was cheating on him with his boss and was even fine with the boss trying to get him fired. Actually she was willingly helping the boss.
So no he wouldn't be unlikeable if he had gotten together with the FL.
If the genders were reversed you girls wouldn't be here trying to make these ridiculous arguments. If a wife was being cheated on like this and then stayed with the husband and rejected a younger guy girls like you would be here saying how the FL is stupid and not that she's "upright" - get fucking real.

The ML not getting together with the FL is just showing him as a dumb person.
The drama does nothing to make it understandable why he would stay with the wife or not get together with the FL.

Your comment is ironic to read on a page designed for dramas because you are complaining about how media panders to lonely men when 99% of dramas panders to women - especially lonely women. You'd expect the opposite.

The review is kind of wrong as in the drama does not say that it's okay to date multiple people - it does the opposite.
The writer purposely draw parallels between daughter and father. That's why FL told ML that they should accept the truth because she didn't wanna end up cheating on ML.
The drama def. didn't say what FL did was correct (dating multiple people) otherwise the FL wouldn't have been "punished" by being ignored by ML for so long. What the drama did say however was that your heart can "flutter" for another person anytime (this is not a crime or your fault) and just like FL felt something in her heart for 2nd ML then the father equally did so with the woman from the music studio. What matters is how you react to this and FL got a wake-up call when she caught the father.

The ending was open ended but alluded to the fact that their story hadn't ended and you can basically decide whatever that means to you.
Whether they stay as friends or ends up dating are both possible based on the ending.
The FL did move to Seoul and 2nd ML was from Soul so there is that.

How would you know how your father behaved outside of home when you weren't there with him and the opportunities he got?

He is fine but the real star of the show is second female lead. I don't care too much about Lee Si Young but she was too good in this drama.

When the men cheat 95% of the times they are never forgiven in these dramas. But when women cheat they are forgiven 95% of the times in these dramas.

Yea an open ending can be good but it needs to make sense thematically or leave some kind of big impact and not just feel like the writer was a coward.
An example is the movie 'Memories of Murder'. The movie is open ended (obviously due to being based on real life incident that wasn't concluded at that point in time).
However even if the movie hadn't been based on a real life incident then the open ending would still have been good because that open end actually fits into the movie and theme.
Another example is 'Inception'. The ending is open - we are never told if it's a dream or not. Yet this fits the theme of the movie that at the end of the day it didn't matter. All that matters is that ML is happy (and with his kids) and accept the reality he has decided is true.

The movie was kind of open ended but then not really.
The ML stopped smoking as a sign of their love.
At the airport he did something he had been afraid to do throughout the entire movie - show his love for FL in front of other people.
As kids he ran away while the FL stayed back on the roof (partly due to not getting scolded from creating the "roof pool").
When older he ran away after they had kissed while FL stayed back.
Towards the end when FL went home he followed her but ended up escaping once the family members started to ask questions.
In the end he had the courage to be honest in front of the family.
The flashback to their time as kids also tells us the FL hugged him back when kids and the way the movie is changing between present and past in the ending tells us she's also hugging him back in the airport.
The only reason I consider this open ended is the fact that the movie is South Korean and cousin marriage is illegal in South Korea. Had this movie been a movie from a country allowing cousin marriages then I'd say the movie was pretty clear about the ending. The writer probably ended it as "closed" as possible as to not promote something illegal yet making it pretty obvious that the leads are "meant" together.
This movie is def. very underrated.

I know I'm 4 years late but I'm not sure what you found unrealistic or vague. I'd go as far as to say it's one of the most realistic portrayals of romance I've seen in a movie. The acting (at least from the two leads) was also so good that it's almost as if you are watching real life unfold being the fly on the wall.

Yea the ending sucked also and to me it seemed that the writer didn't have the courage to make a decision about the ending and took the safe way out avoiding to "promote" divorce.

The girl was def. not young enough that a guy in his situation (him having a wive cheating on him etc.) would reject her due to her age. In real life he'd have gone with her.
If she was younger than 18 then maybe but that's not the case.

This drama would have been good if the writer had actually handled the ML more "realistically". His character makes no sense whatsoever and seeing the high ratings when the character of ML is impossible and fake is weird as fuck.
This writer is seriously lacking quality (like many other drama writers) when writing ML characters.
My guess is that the writer is too focused on making the ML character fit the fantasy of the target audience (mostly women) rather than making a character that makes any sense and behave realistically.

He is right though. The writing is dumb as fuck - there is no way in hell in real life the guy wouldn't get together with the other girl after the wife had cheated.
