You know it's a biased drama when the pathetic men gets cheated on while the pathetic woman gets to "cheat" and her better husband ends up apologizing for being better or "faster" in life.
When making a show with multiple stories and couples then the representation should at least be a bit fair.
In this drama non of the women had any negative consequences for their cheating. Four were still married at the end and out of those four two were still cheating happily at the end.
The two women that ended up leaving their husbands wanted to do that so that wasn't really a negative consequence.
If this drama had been any fair Hisako should be the only one still married. The husband of Hisako cheated and she also "cheated" not knowing that was her husband.
Saya, Yuriha and Yuka should have ended up divorced and alone.
Sakura should have ended happily with her lover the same way Noriko ended with her lover.
Sakura ending up happy but alone is also fine though.
Also Japanese dramas have a weird fetish of always making everything unrealistic and overdo everything. In some dramas it works but sometimes it just becomes so ridiculous. Their characters becomes unrealistic and seem like cartoon villains etc.

I don't think it's rude at all. The first point is obvious just by watching the drama. And when something like this is obvious then it's a clear indication that the drama or movie is not that good. You shouldn't be able to easily know if the writer is female or male but that's the case with this drama.
The second point is totally fair. If you are going to make a show/movie/drama whatever that encourages cheating then I sure hope that you get cheated on also because that's the morality you are preaching. Heck not only do I hope the writer gets cheated on but I also hope a bunch of the users on here gets cheated on after reading these comments.
Also it's obvious why he's focusing on the women cheating because they are the ones being shown in a "positive" light and excused - the men are not excused or shown as sympathetically.
I got no problem with a show/movie showing cheating etc. as long as the show is fair and/or give some consequences but this show is not fair which makes it obvious it's written by a woman.
That said what does it even matter - it's not like me or anyone else hoping someone gets cheated on means that someone will get cheated on anyway.

You are the only one here writing some sense. The amount of women trying to justify other women cheating is hilarious. Also makes it pretty clear that you probably shouldn't be trusting of women unless you want to be cheated on.
The show by itself give that impression but when you then have a bunch of women defending the show it's even more clear that a guy who isn't careful with his wife is going to be cheated on pretty much.
I don't actually believe that but from this show and from these replies that's def. the impression given.

My experience with movies and cheating has shown me the opposite. In general when the man is cheating he's shown to have a nice wife and is shown as a piece of shit.
If the woman is cheating she's shown to have a bad abusive husband and is shown sympathetically as an abused lonely wife.

Yea anyone who think they know what is healthy or good for another person (better than or against the wishes of that person him/herself) is arrogant as fuck.
And claiming anything as psychological fact (especially when the topic is as subjective as healthy relationships) is hard to take seriously.
A very very big amount of psychological studies are not facts. What basic needs are you talking about here? The leads didn't lack any "basic" needs from each other in the movie. Also trying to make a huge deal out of the male lead beating the ex a bit is dumb . When he came and proposed to her right after being told they were about to be married he's kind of asking for a beating at that point.
About him moving in. The reason she "let" him stay in the house was because he had keys to the house given by her grandmother. And since her grandmother had just died and she didn't get the house yet (he might also have been given the house if the grandmother had written him into her will) then she couldn't throw him out. This was not her house yet.
They decided (more like she decided) on the specific house rules they each had to do. You might not yourself be happy with that living arrangement but the female lead in the movie decided on that and ended up being happy with that kind of life with the ML in the movie. They were clearly on the same page and the movie made that pretty obvious.
If she's happy living like that then it's a healthy living arrangement for her. Just because you wouldn't be happy doesn't make it an unhealthy relationship because your idea of a healthy relationship is not an objective fact.
You were the one bringing up porn industry trying to argue about Japan being a male-dominated society. My point was that there wouldn't be such a big porn industry in Japan unless the women agreed to participate. The women earn big money on this and therefore participate in this. You tried to pin all this on men. And if some woman want to invest their own money and start directing porn movies they can do so themselves. My guess is that not a lot of women find interest in directing porn movies.

If you don't think this is targeted women then I don't know what to tell you.
That said then we all have a right to decide what is good/healthy for ourselves and what we wish for in our lives. What you consider "healthy" is not an objective truth and what is healthy for one individual is not always healthy for another because everyone have different needs to be happy.
Also in their huge porn industry some of the women earn more money in a year than you probably can earn in your entire lifetime. I think it's arrogance to claim that you know better what is healthy or good for another individual.

What are you talking about one example. This case happens in far majority of dramas when in real life it's the opposite. And whether cooking is a "life skill" is irrelevant. The point was that in real life women cook more than men yet when you go through majority of dramas you quickly realize that in dramas men cook more than women - because women love to see that in dramas.
As I said these dramas are written by women for women to enjoy.
Also I kept my language pretty civil unless you are a 6 year old child.

The cinematography in the usual Chinese historical dramas is so damn cheap and bad. This drama has way better cinematography than those.
In terms of clothing then as the other person wrote. The clothing style doesn't have to be about production value. Having more "flashy" clothes doesn't have to mean the budget is bigger.

The production seem way less "cheap" than the regular historical dramas. This looks more like a movie than a cheap drama.

Be a prince or be in a drama. Or just join your local choir or ballet class.. Whether they are kick ass are another story but I guess some of them might be stunning.

I guess. I haven't read the novel so I got no clue. But seems they are cutting stuff out. I don't think this will be a harem show either so they might change a bit in the story.
That said then I doubt they've already done the filming for a potential season 2. They are probably "testing" whether the show will be popular with this season. If it's popular they'll film a new season.

I can watch the show in Europe so try a European country.
I checked for Germany, Romania, Netherlands - they all worked.
The US also worked.

The first 6 days (until December 21st.) two episodes are updated each day. After those 6 days it's one episode a day. The drama will be finished Janurary 15.

Have you watched the drama called Royal Tramp? That's one of the dramas I've enjoyed watching the most. The ML is a piece of shit (considering his upbringing then it make sense) but it's kind of "refreshing" and funny. I think that was the first Chinese drama I watched and finished without skipping.
In that drama the ML ends up with 7 wives.

I remember playing this game when I was a kid man. I loved it so much I wanted to be a farmer for real. But yea that was before I was old enough to understand what being a farmer would really be like.
Also yea that seems way more "realistic" in a setting where this guy is supposedly surrounded by this many girls.
I'm actually a bit surprised how many replied back arguing that it's not unrealistic that the guy is not fooling around with any girls in his situation.
I wish the drama would stay true to the novel but I guess that's not going to happen.
