You are so right. Many people try to analyze this like it’s real life, I think that’s because they’re not used to omegaverse. Even when the show explained it, it doesn’t seem to sink in for some people. They were all unconsenting, even Hua Yong who’s seems the least affected.

Actually omegaverse originated in fan fiction in the Supernatural fandom. Originally there was a lot of shifter stories, like werewolves, human-wolf hybrids that have powers, the bonding, pheromones, stuff like that but also turn into wolves. Then people started writing similarly but without actually turning into wolves, so the wolf became more metaphorical. There are still authors that write them as wolf people, but others don't, more variety.

No, this is why this series is such a big deal. Today they just announced that Thailand will start working on a new one with the actors from My Stubborn. There was another series called Pitbabe that uses some of the terminology of omegaverse like alpha and omega but they didn't dare go fully into the world so most people don't count it, I haven't seen it. My knowledge of omegaverse comes from published novels. A lot of people's experience with it is from fan fiction, but I don't read fan fiction.

The novel is complete. I believe the translator is still working on the stories Hua Yong wrote about him and SSY, the ones about being a merman.

That is Shaoyou's hesitation towards marking Hua Yong in the early episodes even though he seemed so in love. Remember the conversation they had when Hua Yong said he couldn't have sex with anyone other than a bonded partner, Shaoyou is not willing to commit to forever at that time, which is Hua Yong's ultimate goal.

Since you seem to be new to omegaverse I must tell you that in this genre there are common tropes but a lot is left up to the author. In most of the stories I've read the bond is mutual and permanent, and most of the time they bite each other. In this story only the more dominant one bites the other, but the bond still seems to be mutual.

We've only heard about the levels with alphas because they have attack pheromones. We've heard about S level which are the best, then also A,B and C. They haven't really mentioned levels with omegas but I think they probably exist, like an S level omega probably has more powerful seductive and soothing pheromones.

I would argue that if I was the type to be defensive and get offended, saying "Thai only gives p*rn" would do it. Thankfully I am not. I understand you were defending Desire, and many people think a good offense is great defense.
