It's pretty clear you don't get my point. It's not about her ending up with the ML, it's her story with the 2nd ML that was obviously downsized to an infatuation instead of a more poignant and deep seated love story because writers are so lazy with their typical romcom type plots. Obviously ML jealous stares and sad faces wouldn't be enough in that scenario.

Shame this drama has evolve to your typical drama where FL only has eyes for the ML.

FL's mother at least doesn't actively endanger her daughter. Obviously they have a distant relationship but she has remaining maternal instincts and obviously still cares for her well being. On the other hand the ML's father is completely despicable and has lost any shred of family and blood connection to his son. Hopefully there is a twist and he finds out his favorite son was born from his second wife cuckolding one of his subordinates.

I've finally finished watching this one. I can't remember when I first watched the first episode but it was at least a decade ago.

I've read the cast list somewhere and they give some background on the characters and some spoilers. The child is not hers but her dead brother in law's son. The kid was registered under her name. I don't know of the entire backstory but that's it.

I'd say there is a pretty big chance Jiang Pei Yao to play the FL bff in her next drama.

Ao Rui Peng look very dashing and elegant. It's good they give him a more mature look. He had a very boyish looking persona in Blood of Youth.

The ML comes off as very ridiculous, unserious and comedic. Frankly he is overdoing it, I feel like his character in the King's Affection is more appropriate behavior for a scholar who is also a member of the royal family. I guess they felt adding some comedic flare to his character could soften his pedantic and bookish attitude. A little humor is fine but they are overdoing it here. I wouldn't take this guy seriously despite being the top entrant in the scholar examinations.

Nothing wrong with GZY character, I quite like how his character developed in the drama. I'm glad we have directors like Edward Guo who are not beholden to lead actors and their demands. This faux scandal is just performative acting from fantards and haters trying to create unnecessary scandal so their pointless little demands are met.

Another CEO drama 😞, I think the last time I enjoyed or got interested in a CEO drama was Secretary Kim half a decade ago. I was interested in seeing LSY in a fusion historical drama but the plot in the modern timeline is so overdone.

My most favorite character ever of Yang Mi is as the Fox Queen and High Goddess Bai Qian in TMOPB. Hopefully this new fox character will be as memorable.

This drama and dramas similar to it like Bloody Romance usually go over the heads of certain viewers.

So many male eye candy here, even the main villain is very handsome.

I give this a 7.5 and that's being generous. If not for the high production value, I'd score this lower.

Obviously because he has many hit dramas.
