what are you people on? what's wrong with QL?? i think she's a great character and a sweetheart. i think it's…
She would have been fine as an extra but the actress playing Qianluo is way over her ability. She has no acting skills or the charisma to make me like this character. Granted, I've never like bratty and childish characters and even more when they are played by actors who can't even act.
I thought I was the only one… omg she irks me… looks so forced…. I would have préfèred the 2FL…..
You're not the only one. If you did a backreading then you'd know a lot of people watching this show including me has a problem with here. The actress is very limited and her role is not helping.
Li Han Yi and Zhao Yu Zhen are the only compelling pairing in this one. I really felt bad for what happen to them. The main pairs though have about as much romantic chemistry as siblings.
Cool. This drama however is not Red Sleeve 2 nor does it tries to be that, so i dunno why these comparisons are…
Of course it's not but the FL is a court lady so comparisons to other court dramas are inevitable. It's fine if they have a different characterization but to disregard common conventions whether it's formal behavior or court protocol is unnerving. I suppose many find her spunky attitude endearing but the act is tiresome and wholly inappropriate for the court.
The FL's too bubbly and spunky personality doesn't sit right with me especially towards the ML who is the King. Add to the fact the FL vaccilates between extremely cheery one moment to depressing and morose the next instant.
I know a lot find Lee Se Young's acting in both Masquerade and Red Sleeve too stiff and formal but it was a great fit for the setting and the atmosphere of the palace. It was never overpowering and tiresome.
You can leave, this drama is not for homophobic donkeys
Even worst I just read your comment under and it's obvious your little fantasy and irrelevant opinion that this would be more succesful as a BL drama is quite unwelcome and very rude.

Your hysterical reply is not useful. The proper answer would be no, this is not a BL drama. You should be inviting people to watch not go on a rant because your feelings was slighted.
She seems to run in and out of scene like a child, instead of an accomplished martial arts spearwoman. The director…
True, I am fine with her apparent lack of romantic chemistry with the ML. My problem is she doesn't seem to have much rapport or connection with the group. Her showing up out of the blue and with her usual petulant and stubborn attitude is not a good recipe for a relatable character. Anyway I'm just glad the writer is not forcing the issue with regards to her relationship with the ML.
Sikong Qianluo is one of the moist pointless main characters ever. The girl has next to nothing chemistry between the ML and her one note characterization is dull and uninteresting. The second FL is better but I find her romance with Lei Wu Jie rather forced. The girl LWJ met at the port had better chemistry with him IMO.
I thought I was gonna be spared a drama glamorizing prostitution but here we are. Episode 11 must be the day the writer couldn't come up with anything useful or substantial. Sending an Imperial Consort to a brothel, because people in ancient times totally did that all the time... The plot is really interesting however the writer is a second rate story teller and is incapable of fleshing out the story logically and writing a tight and focused storyline .
I'm fine with the FL's cheekiness and playful attitude. What I don't like is the campy atmosphere and unserious attitude of the imperial court. The empress is ridiculous, the nameless concubines are just loitering around. The FL who is suppose to be a high rank consort does not act nor she feels like one. Where are the Imperial officials here? I don't recall them introducing a single one. At this point it's just ML trying to get revenge on some still unseen guy and the FL trying to escape the grasp of Prince Fu.
Isn't it amazing how FL had the guts to recommend an idiot, a totally unremarkable character and a useless accessory like Langhua as Sect Leader all because she's the current sect leader's daughter and a woman herself. A few moments later we got to see how stupid that recommendation was. It would have been fine had she suggested a semi intelligent and half competent individual.
How many Chinese actresses are even competent in modern dramas like Shen Yue? Yes she has her comfort zone as a romcom actress but it's still a much more commendable path than relying on high budget productions, a boatload of special effects and high traffic plots like xianxia dramas to garner success and accolades.
Episode 22 will go down as one of the most stupid and pointless fillers I have ever seen in drama land. I was not expecting an engaging and meaningful love story in a wuxia drama but I expected better than the lackluster chemistry and the poorly written story development between the leads.
