The bodyguard/ML love interest is a total drag on the show. She's got zero chemistry with the ML and her assertive and impertinent attitude are way overdone. What the heck was the writer thinking creating this character.

LYX looks too fragile and lightweight-looking to pass off as a rescuer. A little bit of muscle would not hurt. Seriously Bai Jing Ting who I thought had a slight build in YAMH looks like Mr. Muscle next to Leo in this drama.

I've never warmed up to doctor-lawyer pairings in drama land or in real life for that matter.

What a psycho that Princess Taiping turn out to be.

My favorite doctor/uniformed officer drama. In comparison to DOTS and YAMH this one had a lot more nuanced plot and backstory. I think the other two relied more on their leads chemistry. This one was engaging and enjoyable right to the end. I'd love to see this remade into a K-drama.

I like this one better. YAMH plot was rather thin and one dimensional.

It was great until they added that ridiculous and contrived love line between Su Wu Ming and Yingtao. A forced and unnecessary plot that ruined the flow and chemistry of the drama.

The FL is more of a secondary character in this drama. I am liking they are not inserting unnecessary romantic moments between her and ML.

Su Wu Ming is a gem. The actor plays the cheeky and pompous sheriff/detective to the hilt. He is absolutely hilarious. The ML has the right mix of arrogance and cockiness. Thank goodness his bravado is not overdone.

I thought the same. Anything set after 1949 and before the end of the Cultural Revolution is a big no no for me. It will reek of Maoist propaganda.

Go Kyung Pyo's character is a certified jinx both in the past and the present.

What an incredibly asinine and pointless question. The answer is of course no. Any half wit would know that since this is distinct work. Obviously the poster just raised this gossip because of lingering hatred of actor in said scandal.

I've only ever seen Bai Bai He in Love Is Not Blind. A funny and endearing movie. This was the film that made her a star in China.

Mango TV historicals epitomize campy and cheap production and style. I find their cinematography to be mostly an afterthought, the costumes recycled from one drama to another, the dubbing to be atrocious, etc. I think they do fine in modern dramas and I have watched many that I enjoyed. However their low production budget really shows their limit in historical dramas. Aside from The Sleepless Princess, I don't think I can name another good historical from Mango TV with a good story and equally decent production.

In the poster Wu Lei looks like Song Wei Long.

Goodness why do you need to even ask that. She's way better than Zhao Lu Si, that one is clear. Yang Mi btw is the lead in the the definitive xianxia drama Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms.

Esther's voice is really distinctive. I first heard it I've Fallen For You and you can tell right away it's her real voice.

She's not the wife honey. Unless someone is engaged or married, I fail to see why anyone would be shock when something like this happens. There is really nothing more that can be said. The other party should get the drift and move on. This is completely ridiculous behavior, even in those who are married going through these kinds of problem. Ever heard of discretion, privacy and being prudent? Someone needs to slap that "girlfriend" possibly ex now to a cold and hard reality.
