Hi Bailang! I’ve been waiting for your review and this is exceptionally spot on and well written. Since the day i’ve read your comment under this drama page, i know i always can trust your review. It’s a well written & thoroughly in depth review, love everything you said about Hanyan’s character.

I wish more people can read this review and not quickly thrown their judgement without understanding the whole context of the story. Anyway, thank you so much for this! Hope to see your reviews again in another drama that we both enjoyed watching.

i think is a revenge done right, the storyline was quite satisfying for me. yes, i feel sad not knowing what’s the lie, but i guess.. they just want to finish the ending right there and then. so, they just finished it up and keep us guessing. but imho, it was a quite successful drama & ending.

cant help you girl. based on the few comments below, they cut 6 episodes to fit that only 30 episodes. so we never know. maybe like fyx said, we should all forget about the past and move on 🤧

from what I understand, some of them in Fu Yunxi’s house, the one he took at Danzhou (he explained this in the prison). some being ‘washed’ because they ‘sacrificed’ it in order to frame FXY & Hanyan (explained by ZSY to maid Tao in the kitchen). the rest i stop caring about the details, because that’s definitely not the focus of the drama 😂

verbally she didn’t. but i think the stabbing was unintentional. like it’s not a matter of he deserved it or not, it was totally in a heat of a moment. she’s in rage and out of control, and he being there, always trying to be in her way.. so, it’s really the wrong timing. but don’t worry, she might no say ‘sorry’ out loud but her actions in the remaining episodes will prove how sorry she was to him. you need to watch the rest of the episodes to figure it out. i think she’s done redeemed herself for that ‘a heat of moment’ action.

i think they fully trusted each other in ep29. even before that, they trust each other but Fu Yunxi hide the truth on why he wanted to sacrifice himself— the thing is, fyx didn’t want to tell the truth abt his sickness, hence leading up to misunderstanding between them.

acting wise all is good! but Azhi is the real winner in this drama. the kid actress dubbed her own voice, shed tears when she need to cry, pleading, begging, laughing cutely.. a future for c-entertainment surely brighter with her talents.

same. thank god, i stay away from the comments section to avoid spoilers. i thoroughly enjoyed the remaining episodes. twist after twist, jaw dropping, teeth grinding and satisfying ending!

i honestly cant wait for her upcoming drama. she finished filming veils of shadow. wondering what project she will choose for her next drama, what genre and who’s the ML 😍

the lesson i learned from this drama is that, if you think you are smart, at any moments, someone else can be smarter than you. you can’t always be at the top, manipulating, gaslighting and playing victim all the time, at any moments, someone can be manipulative to you as well.

also an act of kindness will always be rewarding no matter how small the act was. and an act of evil will comeback knocking at your door steps, hauting and hunting you down.

this is the glory for those who have patience and kindness in their heart.

looking forward to see more badass & gray characters from Chen Duling! she definitely proves her acting versatility in this drama.

omg! what a satisfying ending. couple who do dangerous things together, stays together, thats all that matters. thank god, i believed in trusting the flow and let the story unfolds.

for me, this is a revenge story done right. Hanyan let go her obsession for revenge, and let the step mother to settle the score with Zhuang Shiyang. i think that’s a very satisfying ending, to end someone’s life by his own closest people. (isn’t it irony, zsy killed the closest people in his life— now the same victims coming to end his life?) PERFECT!

for a drama with 30 episodes, i dont think this was done in rushed, it was fleshed out layer by layer with the theme heavily focused on revenge. Hanyan managed not only to bring glory to her own life & her husband’s family, but also to other women who had suffered and treated harshly by other men. love how at the end, it was shown that she & fu yunxi developed trust with each other and start working together. i love how they both expressed emotions on doing things for each other’s sake. the final scene where Hanyan seeing her mom on the wheelchair makes me cry again. the happiness is there, in the comfort hug of her new found home!

the show it’s getting to the end,

to the writer, thank you for creating Zhuang Hanyan, a broken girl, who was being stripped away from a mother’s love since she was born, brutally beaten, insulted, and humiliated at the hands of foster parents. she might not be everyone fav character— she’s cunning, twisted because she knows pain more than anyone could ever bear. she rise from dirt, hands tainted with blood, taunting with a stigma of a ‘barefoot ghost’. her journey to seek for a ‘home’ makes her barefoot bruises and bleeds, but she fought hard in search for it, desperately to claim it as hers. but the happiness that seems almost at reach, suddenly becomes her nightmare that will forever haunted her sleep.

her desperate wishes — she wanted to own, a home, her mother’s warmth hug— forever gone, taken by the second closest person she ever loved. gripping by trauma, rage and resentments, she once again turned darker, chose to bare her bruised soul red and black. she who suffers so much— only wanted to seek for revenge, she’s far from selfish— if selfish was her trait, she won’t live to see another day after the only ‘home’ she had, forever gone.

Zhuang Hanyan would be my fav character and Chen Duling best performance yet.

what a talented child actress she is!

it’s not that easy to kill, especially those who have power/gaslighting attitudes like Zhuang Shiyang. if that’s easy to do, yuwen & xiwen already done that long time ago. but their plan took so long to be executed, and when it’s almost happened, Hanyan came to the picture. plus, after the murder took place, zsy cleverly burned the world’s map and claim that only him can redraw and remember the map. then the majesty instruct the army to protect zsy. see, the whole point is that.. is not that easy for hanyan to be near or act reckless towards her own father. she needed power and evidences to do that, and that’s what she’s been doing all along.
