oh really, no wonder. good thing the show purchased it, i swear the song fitting very well for the drama, the heartbreak and the angst. even the song title describes the drama as a whole 🥺

i would say don’t trust the rating and the bad reviews way too much. some people don’t even understand the whole messages of the drama, or perhaps ignored the knowledge about it. but i can understand if this drama is not everyone’s cup of tea. fl is annoying at times, but as an audience (we see what she couldn’t see— so it’s understandable for her to act in that kind of way).

i would also say, i feel lucky to watch this during airing time with 2eps per day— because the excitement while waiting for another eps to drop was a great feeling. but the cons watching after airing time perhaps is that, you had the whole eps to binge and ppl cant wait for it to finish due to some misunderstanding between the couple. the best advice, just watch and judge it by yourself. for me, the good outweighed the flaws, and i love this couple dynamic so much and it’s the best drama for me so far this year. i laughed, shed tears, screaming, pulling my hair, but the journey and the ending truly worth the time. i think they’re always together even they’re on mission to k-word each other, and yes, it’s not costumes drama without any of the characters suffering. but the angst is good, liu yuning just own the character of Nan Heng. this is the best performance of him so far. just try watch few episodes, you’ll totally in love with most of the characters in here especially if you managed to reach the end. good luck!

coming back to say, i miss our chaotic couple so much. missing over the top comedic moments between Nan Heng and Song Yimeng. praying for them to be reunited again in the near future.

the ost ‘love catastrophe’ is one of the hauntingly OSTs ever exist thanks to this drama. it’s my heartbreak anthem song! love this drama so much. now, pls reunite the leads again in another costume drama.

i discovered this drama even before i discover MDL. so, at that time, watching this (one of my earliest cdramas experience), i absolutely love it. love the angsty festive, love the chemistry between the leads and certainly love the ending. i think this one of the toxic love story that i would love to watch (dont bargain for this irl), but for the characters and the story, it was such a good one imo. i think this one deserved to be 8.5 at least, but yeah totally understand if it was not everyone’s cup of tea.

ahaa i see. yeah i remember all the hints you mentioned. i just thought it was weird, but because there’s too many background stories and i couldn’t fully grasped it all, so i didn’t think about it too much. but like you said if it’s following the novel, then now the puzzles seems to fit. wow, such a huge revelation. no wonder the emperor in later half of the story seems very SUS.

i don’t understand about it either. it’s follow old rules, new rules thingy im not sure. but i guess, if the CEOs and presidents gather along to celebrate them, it means only one thing. it’s a well received drama from the audiences. am so happy for them 🤍
