I was looking for a variety show to watch to practise my Mandarin, so thank you! Started episode one and it seems really warm-hearted and a positive environment.
i literally came here to find out the same thing. i am highly concerned for his health, ngl. in lie to love, he…
Literally same. Started watching Lie to Love and I'm never one to comment on any actor/actress' weight or looks, but he honestly does not look well. Hope he's doing well!
Anyone know if this ended? No episode uploaded this week.
Don't worry, it's not over yet, it's supposed to run for at least 30 eps. Seems like they took a bit of a break. I watched Ep 21 on KakaoTV so it will likely be released on youtube w Eng subs later this week.
I heard lukewarm reactions to this drama but I started it anyway and I'm so glad I did. Is it historically accurate? Hell no Does it have eye candy ML & SML? yes A FL who actually has brains and doesn't speak in a babygirl voice? yes yes Villains you love to hate? yesss
If you want to watch something super enjoyable, fluffy and dripping with the glamour of the '20s watch this! (FYI I skipped all the scenes with SML's annoying marshal friends and it improved my viewing experience 300%)
Hmmmmmmmm...... I can smell the propaganda from here! Let's see if they even mention any individual African countries, or make the usual Cdrama mistake of treating Africa like one homogenous blob. Every single time I've seen Africa or Africans brought up in Cdramas there's racism and ignorance so I'm already cringing thinking about this.
HS4 = Heart Signal Season 4. Heart Signal is an observational love reality show, it started in Korea and then China made its own version. If you like Transit Love you will probably enjoy HS too. HS season 3 of the Korean version was the best, in my opinion :)
The main reason I kept watching throughout S1 &S2 was the sizzling chemistry between Xiao Qu and Dr. Zhang. Happy to see character development and growth from all characters. Unfortunately , have to point out the random pure racism in one episode (using African clients as thug-like figures...wtf) whyyyy Dreamy Dr. Zhang telling off Xiao Qu's parents was just perfect.
I just finished episode 7 and am so frustrated with logic & plotholes that I have to take a breather from this series. I know, I know it's supposed to be a partial reflection of the true idiocy that emerged IRL (COVID deniers, anti-vaxxers etc) but even the more rational characters are acting in ways that are beyond my comprehension so it's just stressing me out. Will try and pick it back up later.
After 22 epis, I actually feel kinda bad for XQ. Her only fault is she loved SBS blindly. Without that, I don't…
Have to disagree with you. I felt bad for XQ only up until a certain point, and then she became a pretty awful character once her delusional obsessive behaviour showed (ripping off the posters) & she lied and tried to keep SBS and SZY apart. Her delusions are her problem. The fact that she gave up her opportunities and swapped to single skating for SBS (who never ever did anything to make her believe she liked her) is insane. From day one that they met SBS made it clear that he didn't want to be her girlfriend, and so she has nobody to blame but herself. The botched confession misunderstanding is just dumb scriptwriting and SBS's idiocy for sure. However, XQ is a very devious character. Her brother the coach is also very manipulative. He should quit being a team coach and focus purely on being LXY's personal coach if her success is all he wants to achieve. It seems that he is a terrible team coach, he put all his energy in making sure that LXY won gold medals to the detriment of all the other team members. He only cares to train up team members who can support LXY. Thank goodness Coach Zhang was recruited! All the team members liked Coach Xiao at the start because he was kind to them, and didn't push them hard because he didn't expect any of them to win medals, all his focus was on LXY winning her gold medal. Unfortunately it seems SZY is blind to Coach Xiao's schemes and the fact he doesn't care about her winning a medal just LXY.
The botched confession was just painful and completely unnecessary. Why scriptwriter whyyyyy. Xiao Qing is seriously delusional, can't believe she still is trying to twist things her way afterwards. I guess every drama needs an awful character like her that we love to hate though!
The standout performances were from the child actors (particularly Ting Ting & Xiaoyu). Have to admit at times I got a little teary. There should have been more focus on the main couple as we didn't see their progression anywhere near as much, compared to the side couples. A real shame, as the ML & FL did have chemistry from what little we did get to see. Plot was a little lacklustre at times, but I liked how they actually incorporated real nursing/medical information at the end of each ep.
For me this was a 7/10. I watched Danger Zone and thoroughly enjoyed that, so went looking for other Taiwanese cop dramas. This one didn't pull me in, plus the ending was meh.
Exactly what I said... SBS should have a pro male coach, right? His status as a champion (eventhough it was for…
For sure, Xiao Qing has zero business teaching him. It's laughable but it's just dramaland where logic doesn't exist! I just want XQ to leave SBS alone
Another major plot hole : why tf is Shao Bai Sheng still practising with crazy Xiao Qing?? They should have zero reason to practise together...they should even have totally different coaches now.
Is it historically accurate? Hell no
Does it have eye candy ML & SML? yes
A FL who actually has brains and doesn't speak in a babygirl voice? yes yes
Villains you love to hate? yesss
