Guys, is this worth watching? The plot and art angle seem interesting but I've really disliked the FL's acting in every role I've watched of hers (especially the recent Devil Judge, her acting was awful)
Anyone else have the same view of her but ended up watching this and would recommend?

A twisted plot that could only come out of the delightful nation of Japan. Enjoyed it!

Started this randomly because ML is eye candy. Had zero expectations but it's actually ...kind of amazing?
Both ML & FL are learning on the job, supporting each other. There's character development and they're tackling some interesting social issues like the effect of too much parental pressure on children.
(There's also a scene in ep. 8 that was so unintentionally funny that I actually cried my mascara off w laughter! flying kid iykyk )
This is a slow burn and tame romance but the plot is intriguing and you can't help but end up rooting for ML & FL. Honestly this is a hell of a lot better than most Cdramas I've started & dropped recently! I just wish the actual romance heat level was upped.
8.5/10 & the standout character & acting was by ML

Never heard of this before, but planning to watch it now, so thanks for bringing it to my attention! Observational shows like this can be hit or miss, but when they're good they're so fascinating.

Kind of has a similar theme to a Korean reality show I've been watching called Transit Love, where real-life exes all come to live together in one house to decide if they want to get back together or pursue a new relationship.

100% agreed. I feel kind of disgusted...had to drop it almost immediately.
This has a weak plot, a doormat FL with no self-respect or dignity and an abusive ML. How has this become normalised? It's toxic, not cute!

Like you, I can switch off my brain and enjoy a silly drama too but now I can only look at dramas like this with distaste.

I think it's because recent dramas have spoiled me with healthy relationships so I can't bear to watch utter drivel like this.

This drama is the cosiest warm hug you could ever wish for.

I just finished this and came here to say the exact same thing! Not your cookie cutter Cdrama. The ML's acting was particularly great, he portrayed the twisted character so well!
The plot was gripping the whole way through. No perfect personalities, lots of mistakes, betrayal and heartbreak.

Just an excellent Jdrama expertly showing how quality wins over quantity.

It's the cast that makes this show. I've become a huge fan of Mi Joo, but honestly the entire cast are great, they have amazing chemistry and they should continue to work together in whatever format.

Toxic ML + idiotic FL + weak plot = complete waste of time.

Agreed! It's such a shame because the ML's character is actually kinda loveable but the actor who plays him kills the vibe. If they had cast a different actor, and there was proper chemistry between FL & ML it would have really propelled this drama to a much higher quality.
The obsessive SML is actually cast really well, I feel that like actor portrays the creepyness super well.
Too bad the ML lets it down, as I love the FL's personality, she's no shy weakling!

My favourite part was the friendship between them. I once lived in an apartment block where I had 2 next door neighbours become close friends and it was such a blast! I mean, we never ate in the hallway or swapped partners but it was still so much fun.

Thank you for taking the time to explain what happens in the final eps. Ugh whatta wasted potential of a series. FL is quite a toxic gf in my opinion, I felt DC deserved so much better!

Guys, I can't do this anymore. I'm a fan of the FL's acting from her prior work so I struggled all the way through 28 episodes but I give up. This drama is really not for me.
Can someone give me spoilers as to what happens in the final 12 episodes? Thanks!

Hah! Agreed, started with zero expectations but I'm enjoying it so far (even though I'm not normally a fan of the actor who plays ML). If only every FL was clever and competent, and had lots of men chasing her :D

My favourite person is Coco. For real, she deserves all the best. Just a ray of sunshine and positivity. She's too good for all the guys in the house (well tbh if she and Minjae still fancied each other they would make an amazing couple, but it's clear that they both only think of each other as friends.)

I'm on episode 9 and feel like the alternate title should be Lu Yuan Zhi Gets Into Trouble (Again).

Agreed! The games themselves were not the suspenseful mind games that I was expecting. Plus many of the plotlines were very obvious. They could have made it better by having the final game won by someone unexpected, at least!
