Title Squid Game
You think so…? I think it’s subjective. In Alice there were parts that felt so random and dumb and almost…
For sure our opinions are totally subjective but that's just human, right? :D
For me, the first half of Alice was so much better than the second, but I'm still very intrigued to see what happens in season 2.

For Squid Game, what let it down was firstly the games themselves were just..blah. No wit, strategy, nor psychological warfare needed like in Alice. The Wolf game and Distance game still linger in my memory from months ago now, but the games in Squid are nowhere near as sophisticated.

Next, so many plotlines were super obvious like what happened to Ali, who won the game in the end and what happened to his mother. Also the cartoon-like VIP villains at the end made me cringe!

So our scores are reversed, as I gave Alice a 7.5/8

Alright just binged through this.
My thoughts: pretty good, but nowhere near as good as the original Liar Game; even the recent Alice in Borderland was more suspenseful . Japan just does mind games so much better.

Fair warning, in episode 4 there is heavy flashing and flickering of lights from 16:10 to 20:10ish minutes. I…
Thank you so much! I have epilepsy so flashing lights can trigger me, so I really appreciate this.

Now this is the kind of C-drama I've been looking for! So far, so great.
Going to wait until all episodes are released so I can binge through the rest.

What a treat. How did this get past China's censors haha I thought dark humour would be on the banned list

I thought this drama started off strong but 2/3rd of the way through it kind of petered out.
Fan Xiao Yu was my favourite roommate.
Overall it was a nice, easy watch!

I've just started this and from episode 1 feel like I've plunged into a series mid-way. So many characters, struggling to get a grip on who is who, but I'm intrigued so will keep watching.

Can someone please clarify what this new delay is about? Is it due to the recent laws in China banning certain topics from dramas & films? TIA

If you're looking for a show that showcases female bonding, teamwork and artists trying new concepts, don't even think about watching this, just watch the Korean 'Good Girls' show,

If you're looking for a show that unnecessarily creates drama by pitting the contestants against each other, with evil edits and stressful situations and is hosted by a biased MC, then watch this!

Interesting.I haven't really noticed jdrama having this particular issue but perhaps it's because I haven't watched…
What I love about Jdramas are that they are often quirky, and can pack a punch in just a short number of episodes.

There are without a doubt some amazing FL across all genres in Jdramas (the SPEC series for example). Unfortunately the vast majority of FL in romance/romcom genre are portrayed as limp bubble-heads who can't fend for themselves.
I think that's because a lot are live action based on manga/anime and that's the usual female standard there.

This drama has established Kim Hyun Joo as one of my top favorite actresses, she is really an acting genius (not…
Just watching this now, this is my first time seeing FL act and she is amazing, and like you said absolutely stunning! P.S. In Korean the title translates to I'm Taken...which is a little bit better than I Have a Lover, I guess?

When a Jdrama has a FL who is NOT an immature, baby-voiced submissive weakling, I'm always down to watch! Issei's moody sulking, while shooting smouldering looks at Hayame, is a treat but it only works because there is actual chemistry between the two actors.

Really enjoying this so far, and looking forward to the last few episodes

Really impressed with the lead actress, she carried the whole show.
I enjoyed having a smart, competent, independent FL compared to so many dramas that have immature, idiotic & baby-voiced FL. Unfortunately we did have the usual stalker tendencies in the ML, but at least he was supportive of FL and had his own struggles. It was a pretty good watch, but nothing I'd particularly recommend to a friend.
Planning on watching another drama from the lead actress :)

I know it makes sense for the viewers to keep Bai Lu and Allen Ren as the ML and FL from One and Only, but in the book after reincarnation everyone looks different, including them.

In the past she is described as quite plain looking while he is very handsome...while in the future she's drop dead gorgeous and he's very average/plain looking. The whole point of the novel is loving someone not for their looks but for their "beautiful bones" (aka what's under the skin...who a person is inside). Looking forward to watching this though!

I'll put aside how realistic (medically) the plot is but I have to say that all the main actors were amazing. Whenever they cried, I found myself tearing up too. For a short film, it packed more emotions than most 30+ episode dramas.

Does this end on a cliffhanger (like how Netflix split Kingdom into 2 series), or is it a complete single season? TIA
