Ahhhh, I didn't even know he was already married. He just seems overly invested in every little thing Yi Ran does in that relationship. I guess he believes it's for YR's good so that's why he's doing the most, but it's just weird.

Completely agree on ML.He is pretty much being abusive and manipulative. His troubles are his and dragging someone…
I'm sure (at least I hope) there will be character growth eventually and at that time, my opinion will change. For now, I can't excuse his behaviour because of his circumstances. Everyone has flaws, yes, but that's not really an excuse for doing hurtful things to people around you or to yourself. I'm looking forward to his transformation cos I'm tired of not liking him and I want him to be happy too. Also, while he may be trying to find out who poisoned him now, he was extremely unpleasant to Ke Song long before he knew he'd been poisoned.

I wanted to write just the same. For me Xiaoyu has already taken the #1. She's behaving like a stupid little kid.…
The thing Xiaoyu said about Ke Song's dad made me wonder just how much she really hates Ke Song and how long it's been going on. Cos initially it seemed like she was acting out cos she didn't get what she wanted but now it looks a lot more vindictive.

Title Cupid's Kitchen Spoiler
It's starting to look to me like Xiaoyu was also the one that got Ke Song to eat that pepper that nearly killed her when they were kids. This manipulative and borderline psychopathic behaviour didn't just start from nowhere. She also seems to hate Ke Song's parents and enjoys seeing Ke Song in pain. I really enjoyed the slap Ke Song gave her cos it's been a long time coming.

Unfortunately, Ke Song immediately reverted back to being a doormat after that and I'm so tired of it. I wish they'd let her stand up for herself especially now that she's seen what a snake her cousin is instead of always being timid and taking the blame.

My thoughts on Jiang Qian Fan remain the same since he refuses to learn how not to take out his displeasure with life on everyone around him. He keeps acting like an African parent and instead of apologizing to Ke Song for being an a**hole he just gives her food to eat and pretends nothing happened. The pattern is starting to look a touch abusive cos it's always after he's done something like scream at her or humiliate her in public.

At this point I'm only watching this to see Ke Song grow and cos of the food.

Oh, why is Yi Ran's brother micromanaging his relationship with Chu Ting? If he likes her that much maybe he should go date her himself?

This is one of the best food themed series, it's filled with so much foodgasm. Very well made and attention to…
The street food is actually my favourite part 😍

I'm always confused by this trope in dramas of doctors discussing someone's illness/treatment with their ex/assistant/secretary cos that seems extremely unethical.

I don't know who Qian Fan offended in his previous life to be surrounded by so many snakes now. From the assistant to even his doctor, all of them have agendas. It seems only the housekeeper can be trusted (and now she's gone).

I must admit I'm mostly here for the food and Lin Ke Song so I skip nearly every scene without her, but I'm glad to see my initial assessment of her cousin turned out right. I look forward to Ke Song kicking her butt in the tournament. I really like the interactions between Ke Song and Quan Fan but only when he's not screaming and being unnecessarily rude to her because of his own frustration.

Shout out to grandma for giving Ung some more insight into Yeon Soo and what could have been going on when they broke up. I really want Yeon Soo to talk to him but I also understand her not being able/willing/ready to be completely vulnerable with him even though she loves him. Ung for his part is still the best, being patient and understanding even if he doesn't really know what's going on. Seeing Yeon Soo's burdens from being an orphan to being nearly destitute were so heartbreaking and I get it if she's never able to revisit the lowest points of her life. I'm still worried something will happen to grandma, especially cos it felt like grandma has just been waiting for someone trustworthy and reliable to leave Yeon Soo with when she's gone.

I hope Ji Ung's mother showing up and dropping this bomb on him won't send him into a further spiral but I know his friends will be there to help him no matter what. Also just gonna say this isn't a love triangle at all cos he's kept his feelings to himself so how can it be a triangle? No one is torn between 2 people, no one is burdened with dealing with someone else's feelings. He just has feelings he is trying to sort/push through (or die trying). Him having feelings for Yeon Soo doesn't make him a bad friend, it just makes him a flawed human being. Every week, inevitably, someone complains about what a horrible person he is for having feelings he can't control and which haven't had any
real impact on the main couple together or individually, and I think it's a little unfair. His feelings for Yeon Soo and around his mother are things he will need to deal with eventually and he may never even discuss them with Ung as his best friend, but I'm sure the conclusion will be satisfactory.

Why does the synopsis say she went to America though?? Anyway...

I thought the first 3 eps were cute. I enjoyed the dynamic between the leads, but Elise, the ML's ex/business partner, is truly too much. This thing cdramas do where women would rather ruin their careers or businesses than let the ML be in the vicinity of the FL is really tiresome. No woman who worked that hard would throw it away over a man pls (okay, maybe some would but I'm over this trope 😩).

After watching eps 4 and 5 though, I'm not exactly sure WHY FL is letting this man torture her and control her life? She's never had a desire to be a master chef and getting to eat in a fancy restaurant seems like a very small prize for the amount of stress she's already gone through (like seriously let her eat for heaven's sake). I want her to tell him to go get a factory copy of himself the next time he starts going on about his rules and how it works for him.

Also, her cousin is weird for saying she didn't mind that Qian Fan wanted to mentor FL and then badmouthing her behind her back. Especially since Ke Song wouldn't be in this position if it wasn't for her insisting that she sign up for the competition.

NJ is cool but I still can't help feeling like she doesn't fit in this drama. I don't know what it is about the character but when she comes on screen I feel like I'm watching a different show.

It was funny when Yeon Soo was twisting herself in knots trying to be different to save the relationship, cos all she really needs to do to avoid repeating old patterns is be more open with Ung about her feelings, her thoughts and her fears. The pride that made her bottle it all up and make bad decisions before doesn't seem to be an issue now, so I hope she can drop the facade and let him see everything.

I'm not really worried about Ji Ung except that he seems to be trying to work himself into an early grave. Chae Ran may be good for him but I lost any motivation for that romance when she kept trying to force Ung to react to Ji Ung's feelings for Yeon Soo. If Ung was that kind of person it could have seriously damaged their friendship. She'll lose her entire mind if NJ and Ji Ung hit it off 😂 (but I know that won't happen).

I adore Ung's parents and the way they love everyone Ung has brought into their lives forever.

I cannot believe our ML did not graduate! Didn’t she break up with him so he could pursue his dreams further…
It really goes to show that she completely miscalculated his priorities. He had always been very open with her about what he wanted out of life and if it wasn't for her pride, she would've discussed his further studies with him and learned that he was even planning to travel with her. I just hope she's learned from past mistakes now.

The icehouse find and who supplied the liquor has been a key plot point for the last three episodes.
I must've missed something. I thought the ice house and the liquor stash from the first episode were 2 different things.

Two things keep nagging at me while watching this drama... first when exactly will they discover the hidden stash? Cos that seemed like it was going to be central to the plot but instead it's just been forgotten. Second, why is FL falling for the inspector? Maybe it's just a feeling thing but they haven't really done anything to translate that to the screen for us to see so I'm not feeling it at all. I do think it would be much better if the leads actually spent some more time together.

Yeah I think going forward CW first needs to understand why YS broke up with him and know that she actually never…
I truly wish they would have an actual conversation instead of so many half sentences, unanswered questions, and bickering. I guess this is also what happens when 2 socially awkward people have to communicate and emotions are involved.

Everyone saying Choi Ung should be honest about his feelings but he's the only one who's honest really. He examined himself and he knows if he dates her again, and she leaves him again, he will not recover. So he said I can't date you again but maybe we can be friends. I think he really believes he can be friends with her and he wants to try a low stakes relationship with her for once.

Yeon Su never told him why she broke up with him, or that she wanted to date him again and she went along with the friends thing. It took until halfway through ep 10 for her to finally admit to herself that she can't actually be friends with him, so right now it's up to her to determine what comes next.

I thought Ji-Ung was going to be more of a catalyst in ep 10 but he was really just going through his own problems and he needed friends. I don't think he will ever actually confess to Yeon Su, especially now that they're friends and while I don't care about whatever crush his colleague has on him, maybe it'll help him break out of his own crush on Yeon Su.

As for NJ, right now, that character feels so weird in this story. Like, where does she fit in? She feels so alien to the plot but I guess she will serve a purpose eventually. I don't like or dislike her because I don't really care about her. They keep showing us how hard her life is and how awful people are to her, but that doesn't mean anything to me because anytime she shows up I feel like I'm watching a different show so I tune it out.

The preview for next episode looks promising cos I need Yeon Su to step up and be assertive about what she wants instead of passively waiting for Ung to say whatever magic word she wants to hear. Either that or let him go so he can keep living his life in peace. I'm still enjoying this show and I look forward to it every week.

I don't think I've ever cried so much watching a show as I did watching the final 2 episodes of this drama. I can't think of anything to say beyond that this was as good as it gets. Everything from the delicate storytelling to the incredible acting and profound cinematography and direction, really made this my best drama of 2021.

My heart broke several times throughout the drama but in the end, I was still smiling through my tears. I will never forget this show or this cast, and I'm so glad I didn't skip it as I'd planned to do initially.

So... It's the matrix, right? I can't believe we have to wait 2 weeks to see how Kakarayan plans to deal with this mess. I wondered about Fali/Lemed's motivation before but it turns out that he is the jealous one and not Toem. What I'm not sure of is if he's jealous that Kakarayan would rather live the lie because it means being with Tien-ti, or if he's jealous that Kakarayan gets to live a lie and be happy while he has to endure the bitter truth alone. It could be both.

I don't think Fali is evil or bad. I think Kakarayan made the first mistake but I also wonder... At what point does a dream become reality? If the world was merely a dream that Kakarayan had, does it become real and separate from him the more it grows and changes? Or will everything disappear if Kakarayan wakes up? Is Tien-ti even real? Is anything except the dark, empty void where Kakarayan and Lemed live even real?
