I thought Thomas said if their conduct outside the competition was unbecoming, they could get disqualified? This video should be Lin Xiaoyu's second strike since LKS didn't report her for locking her in the car before. Also, since he spends so much time watching the CCTV, didn't he also see Victor swap LKS's ingredients the first time? Thomas seems to only care when it's convenient or when he can blame LKS and JQF for something.

I'm hoping this latest stunt has firmly removed the scales from Blu's eyes so he can focus on the competition and stop wasting time on Xiaoyu. I skip all of Victor's scenes so I don't know what he's up to but I'm sure it's nothing interesting lol.

As for all the criminals in this show, I really hope they get caught soon. Especially that doctor. I hope he loses his license and goes to jail.

The entire reaction from all quarters about Oliver's failing taste buds is really much ado about nothing. Everyone…
My thoughts exactly. Everyone was overreacting and making a huge fuss over his personal problems instead of acknowledging that he really is a genius if they didn't even notice that he'd lost his taste. Those reporters especially were so embarrassing cos they all took it so personally.

Uncle Lin is one of the only characters with sense and I appreciate him too

They are both so flawed and don't know how to talk to each other, NYS can only say talk to me, and does not actually…
You have a point about Tan Jin knowing him, but I guess I just want her to try a different approach. Give him the information and let him do what he wants with it, and that way there's no one saying "well if you'd told me things would've been different".

But seeing how NYS acts now, I'm starting to understand her more, cos he's clearly not ready to do what needs to be done in the fight against his father.

My suspicion is that Fang Ting is the older half-brother of NYS by the mistress. That's why he knows the old man…
That's my suspicion too but also why I said it sounds too cliche to me lol

Title Because of Love Spoiler
NYS is so funny cos on the one hand he claims he won't fight her for custody, but then his father says he will do whatever he wants as long as he gets Ping Ping and NYS is just quiet. He knows his father's plans even if he doesn't know everything the old bastard is doing, but he just looks on like an idiot and then acts like it's out of his control when things start happening. If he doesn't want to fight for custody, he should tell Tan Jing that he will sign whatever she needs him to sign relinquishing any claims to Ping Ping until they get to a place where they trust each other again. I'm sure if he did that, his father's mask would fall immediately and he'd finally see what's been right in front of his nose this whole time.

As for Tan Jing, I feel for her cos she's all alone, but what's the point of not telling NYS what his father has done/is doing? If she doesn't tell him what's going on, he's just going to keep assuming she's being unreasonable and then falling deeper into his father's clutches. I don't know how she thinks this is helping cos clearly it didn't help in the past, and it won't help now.

Finally, I wonder what the story is with NYS' father and Fang Ting. Fang Ting seems to have a deep hatred for the old man and I hope they tell us why, cos I have some suspicions but they sound too clichรฉ even to me lol.

I also think Ke Song's parents are nice and normal. They're not overbearing or scheming or manipulative. It's easy to see how Uncle Lin and LKS's dad are brothers. I don't know where Xiaoyu got her nasty personality from though.

I might've missed something, but can someone explain in last scene of ep 28, what triggered ML to suddenly behave…
I think it was because he couldn't taste the mushrooms and her father talked about teaching him to make it now that he's tasted it. He always acts that way when the issue of his taste buds comes up, and it's getting a little repetitive now.

The biggest unanswered question is - how the hell did Ji Ung manage to make the second documentary interesting…
Lol. I guess that's why the other producer asked him to tell the right story and stop letting his feelings get in the way - the unspoken love story. People would ship them anyway when they see how they look at each other and talk about each other in the documentary.

I don't think there was any big mystery behind her parents' deaths. They just died, I guess. And Ung's biological father was just a deadbeat, that's why Ung was so scared he might turn out to be like him. They didn't explicitly explain either of those things though.

Completely agree on ML.He is pretty much being abusive and manipulative. His troubles are his and dragging someone…
I get all that and I'm not saying he has to be perfect. What I'm saying is that I don't like his behaviour at this point in the show. I can understand what he's been through and still not like the way he treats Ke Song. A person can have unresolved trauma and not be abusive. Anyway, like I also said, I'm looking forward to his growth as a person once he unpacks everything that he's been carrying.

Ahhhh, I didn't even know he was already married. He just seems overly invested in every little thing Yi Ran does in that relationship. I guess he believes it's for YR's good so that's why he's doing the most, but it's just weird.

I'm sure (at least I hope) there will be character growth eventually and at that time, my opinion will change. For now, I can't excuse his behaviour because of his circumstances. Everyone has flaws, yes, but that's not really an excuse for doing hurtful things to people around you or to yourself. I'm looking forward to his transformation cos I'm tired of not liking him and I want him to be happy too. Also, while he may be trying to find out who poisoned him now, he was extremely unpleasant to Ke Song long before he knew he'd been poisoned.

I wanted to write just the same. For me Xiaoyu has already taken the #1. She's behaving like a stupid little kid.…
The thing Xiaoyu said about Ke Song's dad made me wonder just how much she really hates Ke Song and how long it's been going on. Cos initially it seemed like she was acting out cos she didn't get what she wanted but now it looks a lot more vindictive.

Title Cupid's Kitchen Spoiler
It's starting to look to me like Xiaoyu was also the one that got Ke Song to eat that pepper that nearly killed her when they were kids. This manipulative and borderline psychopathic behaviour didn't just start from nowhere. She also seems to hate Ke Song's parents and enjoys seeing Ke Song in pain. I really enjoyed the slap Ke Song gave her cos it's been a long time coming.

Unfortunately, Ke Song immediately reverted back to being a doormat after that and I'm so tired of it. I wish they'd let her stand up for herself especially now that she's seen what a snake her cousin is instead of always being timid and taking the blame.

My thoughts on Jiang Qian Fan remain the same since he refuses to learn how not to take out his displeasure with life on everyone around him. He keeps acting like an African parent and instead of apologizing to Ke Song for being an a**hole he just gives her food to eat and pretends nothing happened. The pattern is starting to look a touch abusive cos it's always after he's done something like scream at her or humiliate her in public.

At this point I'm only watching this to see Ke Song grow and cos of the food.

Oh, why is Yi Ran's brother micromanaging his relationship with Chu Ting? If he likes her that much maybe he should go date her himself?

I'm always confused by this trope in dramas of doctors discussing someone's illness/treatment with their ex/assistant/secretary cos that seems extremely unethical.

I don't know who Qian Fan offended in his previous life to be surrounded by so many snakes now. From the assistant to even his doctor, all of them have agendas. It seems only the housekeeper can be trusted (and now she's gone).

I must admit I'm mostly here for the food and Lin Ke Song so I skip nearly every scene without her, but I'm glad to see my initial assessment of her cousin turned out right. I look forward to Ke Song kicking her butt in the tournament. I really like the interactions between Ke Song and Quan Fan but only when he's not screaming and being unnecessarily rude to her because of his own frustration.

Shout out to grandma for giving Ung some more insight into Yeon Soo and what could have been going on when they broke up. I really want Yeon Soo to talk to him but I also understand her not being able/willing/ready to be completely vulnerable with him even though she loves him. Ung for his part is still the best, being patient and understanding even if he doesn't really know what's going on. Seeing Yeon Soo's burdens from being an orphan to being nearly destitute were so heartbreaking and I get it if she's never able to revisit the lowest points of her life. I'm still worried something will happen to grandma, especially cos it felt like grandma has just been waiting for someone trustworthy and reliable to leave Yeon Soo with when she's gone.

I hope Ji Ung's mother showing up and dropping this bomb on him won't send him into a further spiral but I know his friends will be there to help him no matter what. Also just gonna say this isn't a love triangle at all cos he's kept his feelings to himself so how can it be a triangle? No one is torn between 2 people, no one is burdened with dealing with someone else's feelings. He just has feelings he is trying to sort/push through (or die trying). Him having feelings for Yeon Soo doesn't make him a bad friend, it just makes him a flawed human being. Every week, inevitably, someone complains about what a horrible person he is for having feelings he can't control and which haven't had any
real impact on the main couple together or individually, and I think it's a little unfair. His feelings for Yeon Soo and around his mother are things he will need to deal with eventually and he may never even discuss them with Ung as his best friend, but I'm sure the conclusion will be satisfactory.

Why does the synopsis say she went to America though?? Anyway...

I thought the first 3 eps were cute. I enjoyed the dynamic between the leads, but Elise, the ML's ex/business partner, is truly too much. This thing cdramas do where women would rather ruin their careers or businesses than let the ML be in the vicinity of the FL is really tiresome. No woman who worked that hard would throw it away over a man pls (okay, maybe some would but I'm over this trope ๐Ÿ˜ฉ).

After watching eps 4 and 5 though, I'm not exactly sure WHY FL is letting this man torture her and control her life? She's never had a desire to be a master chef and getting to eat in a fancy restaurant seems like a very small prize for the amount of stress she's already gone through (like seriously let her eat for heaven's sake). I want her to tell him to go get a factory copy of himself the next time he starts going on about his rules and how it works for him.

Also, her cousin is weird for saying she didn't mind that Qian Fan wanted to mentor FL and then badmouthing her behind her back. Especially since Ke Song wouldn't be in this position if it wasn't for her insisting that she sign up for the competition.

NJ is cool but I still can't help feeling like she doesn't fit in this drama. I don't know what it is about the character but when she comes on screen I feel like I'm watching a different show.

It was funny when Yeon Soo was twisting herself in knots trying to be different to save the relationship, cos all she really needs to do to avoid repeating old patterns is be more open with Ung about her feelings, her thoughts and her fears. The pride that made her bottle it all up and make bad decisions before doesn't seem to be an issue now, so I hope she can drop the facade and let him see everything.

I'm not really worried about Ji Ung except that he seems to be trying to work himself into an early grave. Chae Ran may be good for him but I lost any motivation for that romance when she kept trying to force Ung to react to Ji Ung's feelings for Yeon Soo. If Ung was that kind of person it could have seriously damaged their friendship. She'll lose her entire mind if NJ and Ji Ung hit it off ๐Ÿ˜‚ (but I know that won't happen).

I adore Ung's parents and the way they love everyone Ung has brought into their lives forever.
