Ep 22 is really heart breakingWoah ... didn't see that coming. Xiao Yu boyfriend is too much. He ought to be shot…
I was screaming for Xiao Yu to get out of the taxi as soon as she noticed him losing focus the first time. She really doesn't deserve this new tragedy.
I want to be angry at Peng Pai’s daughter but then again I can’t. I understand at that age you think everything…
I'm not even mad at her, she just has terrible parents and her behaviour is because of them. Between her mother not being able to separate her daughter's life from her divorce/ex-husband and the complete waste of space that is Peng Pai, the poor girl has been through enough. Although it did feel like she cursed Xiao Yu considering the way things unfolded after she left.
I have to say, I'm not a fan of all this trauma Xiao Yu is going through with only a handful of episodes to go. Peng Pai has been dirt to me since we found out he lied about being divorced for their entire relationship, but ep 22 solidified his position as absolute garbage. Not for being hesitant about having another child, but for trying to make Xiao Yu think her reaction to his ridiculous proposition was "childish", and then for trying to say it was her fault that she got into that accident. I hope someone runs him over cos he deserves it. I hope Xiao Yu can recover from this and find happiness again.
I'm still waiting for Feng Xi and her chef to realize they've already fallen for each other but it's cute watching them figure it out lol.
Even though she only appeared briefly in this episode, Shan Shan still stole my heart. I'm completely smitten with that character and I always want more of her.
This kind of let me down by the end but I don't regret watching it. I really loved discovering ZDY through this drama. She was perfect as Shanggu for me. I also felt so sorry for Yuanqi in the end cos his parents just kept dumping him with other people like some unwanted burden. I truly don't understand why they even bothered with the plot of them having a child when they were going to have ML and FL ignore him for most of his existence.
Also have to say this drama washed the bad taste of Liu Xue Yi as Hao Chen in LAR from my heart cos I was in love with Tian Qi by the second half of the show and he only got better. I will be salty forever that Yuemi died and never got the reincarnation treatment cos of all of them, she deserved it the most. She deserved to be happy and to be loved the way she loved everyone around her. That statue should've been the key to her return but I guess the ancient god just hates us.
All in all, I'm glad I stuck it through and watched this even if I wanted to wring Bai Jue's neck most of the time. Here's hoping he stops making decisions for Shanggu in the future and they actually raise their child (and live happily ever after, of course)
I literally burst out laughing for a full minute (I had to pause) when the Dr came rushing into the courtroom to clear Kang Yo Han's name. I can't believe they thought it would be that easy to get rid of him when this man has been quietly plotting this for at least a cool decade. I'm here for the all out war between Yo Han and the Foundation. There will be so much scorched earth left behind, I wonder who will survive.
I felt bad for Elijah cos she obviously wants real friends but now she may be going back to believing that everyone wants to use her for one thing or another, and that's sad. Ga On really messed up there, and honestly he should never have taken her out of the house without Yo Han's knowledge.
I also find myself wondering about the chief justice who got Ga On involved in all this. I suspect everyone's motives now cos they keep telling us that people are never purely good so I wonder what revelations will come out about him as well. Plus, what he said to Yo Han in that meeting was almost exactly what the minister said so that got my antenna up.
I don't really like Dai Xiao Yu but I loved every second of her telling off Feng Xi for her stupidity. Imagine nearly ruining their fledgling business because of her rat of a bf. Yikes. She should be thankful that he ended that toxic relationship but I guess she won't appreciate her luck for a while.
I really don't understand why Hye Ryung insists on staying married. She's lost all interest in her cheating husband now and they only make each other miserable. It's such a waste of energy, even if she's doing it to stop him from being with his mistress. I just need her to free herself (and her shitty husband) of this toxic relationship.
It took me a minute to figure out that Pi Young wasn't imagining things this episode, and I couldn't stop laughing when that old witch finally heard that her golden boy was actually cheating. I just want the old woman and the mistress to fight cos that would be so entertaining.
I wasn't surprised at the reveal at the end of so 14 cos Seo Hyun is the family's fixer so of course she knows…
Oh, and can we all agree that that sus nun is lying? Cos the facts are starting to paint the real picture and nothing she claimed to have seen fits the narrative (except dead Ji Yong). How could Hee Soo have been at the top of the stairs AND also knocked out on the floor? Unless like someone said, Seo Hyun was the one on the floor and she lied at the hospital (but the show already revealed that Hee Soo was passed out next to Ji Yong)! So many possibilities!
The police, when Kwak Su-Chang died: Must've been the windThe police, when Han Ji Yong died: OMG There's a brutal…
They are so dedicated to finding HJY's killer when they had to be dragged kicking and screaming to even investigate KSC's case. This is why I'm rooting for whoever killed Ji Yong to get away. F the police.
I wasn't surprised at the reveal at the end of so 14 cos Seo Hyun is the family's fixer so of course she knows what went down. Plus the whole time I kept saying, did they forget Hee Soo is an actress??????? I'm very excited to see how this gets wrapped up cos those women.... Oh THOSE WOMEN. I LOVE THEM. I wonder if the detective will actually find out what really happened and if anyone will have to pay the price for killing Ji Yong.
On Ji Yong though, I know he was a total piece of garbage but he was a product of his environment. His parents treated him as less than human so of course he turned into a monster. By the time Hee Soo came into the picture, he was damaged beyond repair. Truly the only good thing he did was making it so that she could be Ha Joon's mother.
Can't believe when this show started I was barely paying attention and now I'm sad that it's almost over. Do we think Ji Yong tried to kill Hee Soo and ended up dead or was it all part of the plan? I'm not sold on the amnesia cos it's way too convenient and she can't really spin her reaction to Ha Joon almost getting hit by that truck (as an aside, does that kid have a death wish or what????). Also, I cannot put into words how glad I was that I didn't have to sit through more of the grandson and the maid in the last 2 episodes. They were exactly where they should be, in the background as part of the scenery.
This was a joy to watch. I especially loved the relationships between all the lead characters. They were all very smart and capable which I enjoyed. Also really liked the mystery and the political intrigue. Glad I watched it and totally recommend.
My favourite thing is Kang Han Na's character constantly misusing phrases and not knowing what words mean lol. I'm looking forward to her being chaotic in school!
I think this drama is really underrated. It's such a lovely story and I loved all of it, even the silly tropes. My favourite things were the best friends and the Jiang Xiao Ning's smile. Totally recommend.
It's so creepy how Ji Yong keeps saying Hee Soo shouldn't be troubled because she's carrying his child and not because he loves her or cares about her at all.
After ep 6 I would love for Hee Soo and Seo Hyun to leave this family altogether. Seo Hyun can reunite with her girlfriend and Hee Soo can go raise her children far away from this dysfunctional lot. I know, I know, it's unrealistic but I can dream, right?
I think Hee Soo knew the truth even if she was in denial and I'm glad Seo Hyun told her eventually. Also, why does it feel like that reverend sister is manipulating all of them?
Baek Eun Hye is so good. I can't believe that she got me right in the feels playing a character with no lines most of the time. The fact that I can see the pain of Ji Ah's mother's ghost just from her face is amazing. The scenes with Ji Ah and her mother in episode 12 are so heartwrenching. BEH and Jang Na Ra were amazing.
Great piece! I'm really excited for D.P. It looks like it'll be a good time. Didn't get bingo but that's just me slacking. Gotta do better lol

I look forward to next week with excitement!
