Collateral damage

JingJing and QianFei are having some girl time. What was unexpected is Lu Ze’s company affected by the assessment plan. They have to find a new investor or spun out of the project. He is upset with Qian Fei because he was told she was the one that made the decisions. He has overestimated her actual role and Ms Liao was not going to let him think otherwise. So now he has cowardly put the onus on her to tell JingJing. He has a right to feel blindsided and angry, but he can’t blame Qian Fei for his company’s finances. He also trusted Mr Liao keeping him on because he believed in his company. It never crossed his mind that at some point they were over assessing his company’s value to cook the books. Yi Fei gave her a very direct set of reasons why their company had to go. They could not be refuted. It was simply the bottom line. Her love/hate relationship with that teddy bear.😂🤣 I’m so mad at Yi Fei .BAMBAM BAM then she hugs and snuggles it after beating. 🤣😂Wang😡🤬He comes to her home late at night wanting a settle, ent and her to change jobs. He should have a black eye rather than hurt nose. He has lied to his gf so when this all comes out where will he be then. He is such a coward. He gets steamed up with JingJing calling him out but he takes no responsibility for the position he put Wian Fei in. He did not tell his parents or help with venue deposits yet he wants her to cough up 500k. 🤬 Yi Fei is out with friends and hooked into a blind date. She is pretty and has a beautiful voice but he’s busy txting Qian Fei about late night snacks. 🤣😂 He even suggests a future date to enjoy the girl’s cooking. His arrogant air is crossing paths with his smitten one.🤣😂The colleague has it right about their sharp tongues being a good match. 🤣😂 Yi Fei gets a thanks for handling Wang and late night snacks while the pouty ex hides his cowardice with a lie to new gf. 😝 Looks like things heat up with Lu Ze’s company in the preview.

Starting to see that their relationship is extremely complex and layered.

Superficially, the ML comes off as an abusive, obnoxious bully and she is justifiably pissed at him for not just his current 'unfair' behavior towards her but a long held grudge over him apparently having stolen her speech way back in high school. But then this is interwoven with him taking complex steps to 'take care of her' both in the current time (subsidizing her to have a new apartment near him, trying to force her to take a less stressful career path) and also in the past, when they were young. The problem is, his care has almost always focused solely on preventing her from being in situations where she might cry. This is his legit mission that he seems dedicated to. But this means he's also been super-controlling and she quite naturally resents that control because she wants freedom to live her own life. Further, it is his over-protective dominating control that has actually often been the trigger for 'crying events' in her life and so she has come to associate him with her medical issues. BUT ... she also literally grew up with him closely involved with helping and caring for her and she's weirdly quite used to him not only being around her but physically doting on her, touching her, fixing her shoelaces, adjusting her clothes. He may be (probably is) wrong in his 'control everything' approach to caring for her. Because it does harm to her. But his core intentions are strangely legit. Oh ... and ugh. What is it about Gau Han Yu (Du Li) that makes him look like such a creep as the SML? How can he be handsome and so pathetic looking at the same time? I can already tell he's going to be the type of character that I kinda hate watching screen minutes wasted on. I predict some sob story background that tries to build viewer empathy for him (to create a fake 'love triangle') but in the end he will still be an evil creep. A very annoying trope.

The secrets of Zhang family

Oh, I kind of love how we are getting back to the Evil God and its statues! 🤩 It makes it feel like all of it is completely connected, not just consequential. And there's a possibility to treat Zhang Haixia and get him back to normal! I couldn't be happier... really! 🥹🎉 The only things worrying me with the cure are that Haiqi is dying, there isn't much time left, and no one else really knows the recipe... yet, at least. ⏳ And secondly, it's the same question I had before about Haixia's conscience if he gets back to normal. Oh, I am so excited and worried at the same time! 🫣 nervously-excitedHailou taking the bride's place... 🤭 Can't wait for tomorrow's episode! P.S. And now I am double-guessing my previous thoughts about Haixia himself. Considering how he looked at that dead man in the cafe, maybe his killing is not as controlled as I thought. But those men brought it upon themselves... I knew Haixia would do something to them the moment they started trash-talking Hailou. 😮‍💨

At last!

Every line of dialogue meant something, in the past 13 episodes. And in episode 14, it comes together for Bai Shanjun.I don't remember ever being this excited for a romance in a C-drama, since... "Winter Begonia". Between Bai Shanjun and Lady Fufeng, the partnership is now at a natural stage of its progression. Back to listening to the beautiful songs of the drama OST~

Can Haixia be cured/redeemed?

Hmm, why does it look like Haixia is quite in control of his dark side? He's still dark, no doubt about it, but I think he is actually looking for a way to treat his dark ways. "No matter what happens, you'll leave a fallback plan for me too, right, Hailou?" — when he said this, he looked more pensive than disappointed. I am not sure whether it was a good sign or not, though. 🤔I think Haixia maybe has accepted his fate and now just walks around like a dark guardian angel for Hailou, making sure he makes it out alive in the end. It's like a personal redemption arc he has going on. 🤔🤧And the story about Priest Su Yu brings me hope—maybe there really is a way to help Haixia? This leads me to what I heard about them having three possible endings prepared for this show. Maybe one of the options is where Haixia actually gets cured or learns to restrain his urges, so he can live a somewhat normal life? But then the question is—what would Haixia's conscience say about that? Would he be able to live peacefully and be okay with what he has done? 🥺The Little Taoist and the Chief of Phoenix Stronghold... tsk tsk tsk! 🤭😏

Little acts of care

Yifei actually was very mature about his break-up, and to be fair, I prefer the way it was ended in this episode. He was reasonable and had considered her well-being a lot after they ended things. I think Fei actually looked at him differently during that scene. 👀 And Lili crying after that? Well, girl, you've been asking for it for a very long time already... 🙄 I wonder if her tears were sudden regret over her choice? 🤷‍♀️I kind of already like Jun and Fei's bartender friend. They both are into games, he likes her mixology skills, and they both are friends to one of our leads... Could that be potential for a second couple? We'll see! 🤭😉 And, OMG, those parents—selling the gear he used half a year to get... As someone who plays video games too, I know how awful that could be! 😧Fei's worry about Yifei after his break-up was nice, and him trying to find ways to give her some money... 🥹 They already try to help each other genuinely and sincerely. It's so nice to watch these little acts of care. 🥰💖

First big changes

Wow, I take my words back about the girlfriend! She's not good in any way—not even for comedy. 🤦‍♀️ She flirts with men left and right (which I actually noticed in previous episodes too), and Yifei kind of knows, yet chooses to pretend it's all work-related. Maybe it is, but is it, really? 🤷‍♀️ And then she chooses to break up with him suddenly by asking a third party to do it? Talk about cowardice! 🙄 To be fair, I think the real reason was Yifei's lack of money and luxury, not the picture of him and Fei in the car. BUT, the bright side—the apartment now will be just for the two of them! 🤗Thankfully, Yifei took it somewhat calmer than his predicted reaction foretold. 😌 I actually kind of enjoy his little childish side too—playing with planes while alone in his room, the way he enjoys Fei's cooking, and even him trying to steal some... 🤗 Sometimes he's petty and can be quite annoying, but overall I quite enjoy his character. Someone called him a "grumpy white knight", and I must agree, he kind of is! 😌😂The reason for Fei's layoff wasn't entirely clear to me—was it because of the mean, jealous colleague, or maybe because of the picture? Or maybe even something else? 🤔I do enjoy how both leads are starting to care about each other's well-being, even if it's still only on a micro-level. 🤗 And we've already had a few face-to-face, eyes-meeting moments! 🤭

YAAYYYYY SALLYYY

i really enjoyed thedse two episodes. obvious season high+lights ,i really enjoyed the sally episode & it got us right on track for this final basco show+down. i don’t actually have anything much to say but i did really enjoy these new locations a lot. that’s something i deeply enjoy for tokusatsu shows is beautiful set designs. like the industrial back+room of the galleon was so fun to rummage through. i think basco was wrapped up pretty perfectly. he got marvelous where he needed. i think assurance of characters & dreams is where this show is at. here we really focus on the specificity of what captain marvelous wants & i was sold. i do like this season a lot. now tomorrow i got to figure out how they’ll wrap this all up.

Love the side characters, especially Jing Jing

I already love the side characters. I absolutely adore how fiery Jing Jing is—a perfect best friend—Qian Fei's ride or die! ❤️🤩 Li Yifei's friends are funny; I especially enjoyed the one who gave money to pay for her phone, Jun Cheng. At first, I wanted to comment that Yifei's girlfriend is very spoiled and that I don't like her because of the way she evaluated Fei's apartment, but she came around. She brings great comedy to the apartment life, and the best part is that she did her job perfectly to act as a bridge for our main characters, making them share an apartment. 😂 "You didn't ask if I have a boyfriend." Lol 🤣Yifei always happens to be around when Fei is in quite troublesome situations... Yeah, call it fate, no? 🤭😉

Five Stars

Acting, pacing, filmography and storytelling all on point. Great start to the series. The make up was good, clothes were on point and acting was great. The moms dialogue delivery was really good, she felt so fluid it didnt feel like a script. Some parts of Lings Thai was a bit choppy but her body language and eye acting was great. Orms acting has leveled up 100% /

Wait, I thought this had one more episode.…

Wait, I thought this had one more episode. I did not know it ended on 9. WE ARE TOO OLD TO BE THIS BAD AT COMMUNICATING. This was oddly really romantic. This was probably the best Japanese PL I have ever seen. It was romantic and well done for nine episodes. I think they are making a special episode, but I do not remember when that is coming out. Apparently, this is the final episode. I liked that a lot. I was a huge fan of the whole thing with the third guy, but it was still cute, and I am impressed by how well they did this. I thought the actors did a really, really good job because it felt very natural. Also, the Ever One, it was like in the final couple minutes where he is in his high school form and then he looks back and it switches as him. That was the cutest goddamn thing ever and that was such a nice touch. Overall, I quite like this show and I am going to write my review for it now. But yeah, this was really good for a Japanese BL and just BL in general. Of course, I have a few critiques, but this was overall really good and they impressed me with this. Okay bye!
