Fates changed

At the lunch Han Bin says he had to do homework to be sure she was suitable for his parents. WanZhi is naive enough that she doesn’t realize she is his place holder with parents til something better shows up. XingKe on the other hand is well aware of what a jerk this guy is with girls and tries to tell WanZhi the truth of the matter. She doesn’t want to hear it and XingKe is hurt more when he has to keep accepting she doesn’t like him the way he does her. She is completely blindsided at the hospital when she learns her mom won’t be coming home and is in-fact dying. She is further devastated when her dad sends the unsuitable bf away and they both have strong words for each other. Her mom left a final letter for her and she defied her father’s wishes and demanded it. She was completely overwhelmed by its contents but decides she wants to find her family and learn why she was abandoned. The bf doesn’t want her to go but her friend buys her a ticket. She returns to ShenXian Peak and meets her father and sisters. He was the one that saved her from the ram and her oldest sister was the patient that wanted to touch her face. Her birth father candidly explained how he chose her new family and her second sister wanted job assistance for the niece. In another twist of fate Mrs Li lost her husband the same time as she lost her mom and the two parents grieved together. It is likely they will become a couple and this created even more distance between WanZhi and her father. This will also make it even more unlikely for XingKe to confess his true feelings for WanZhi.

Plot thickens

It was so funny to watch Gongsun's reactions to everything the Marquis had agreed to do there—even marriage! His face was priceless when he saw his falcon caged :) And all those scenes with the imaginary Chang Yu... loved it!We met Yu Qianqian, and it looks like she was the lady in the carriage in Episode 6. I thought it was Song Yan's betrothed and a possible guilty party in Fan Daniu's death, but now that theory is scratched. I also expected that maybe General He was both Xie Zheng's master and Chang Yu's father, but it seems like that theory is also in vain, since the General is still alive somewhere.We finally get to see how and why Zheng was there in Episode 1, under the snow and almost dead. So he's investigating and was badly injured in a battle, then escaped the white-coated men... and the case is somehow coincidentally linked to the Fan family. Intriguing! We’ll see how it goes.However, I am a little worried. I have a feeling that during the Spring Festival, something will go down—for example, those guys on the undercover mission could recognize the Marquis if he decides to join Chang Yu in the restaurant. Also, they decided to watch her and the Wei's death warriors closely; even that could lead to someone recognizing our Marquis. I am not sure if that would be for better or worse, because I’m not sure which side they are on. I hope they are allies; they seem nice, but that can be misleading.And the ending? Okay... let's see what happens next with our lovebirds! :)

3 types of fate

Fang Wan Zhi was born at ShenXian Peak and left when the dad learned a third girl was born. So from the very beginning her heavenly fate was changed. She grew up as a well loved single child who had a very strong sense of justice and a flair with words. She helped a boy by changing his name and took care of bullies by organizing all the neighborhood kids to fight back as a unit. Her real fate made her a leader and well liked in her community. Her mother was not as impressed with her attitude and made her write vanity 10k times. Her self made fate is still being determined but she submits work anonymously so she no longer struggles with vanity. She is heading to college and XingKe has a ring for her, but after hearing her conversation with a friend he changes his mind. WanZhi is disappointed to not hear from her dad on her bday and goes out with friends. She meets Mr popularity who has taken an interest in her, but at the end of the episode he knows who her dad is, so is he interested in her, or wanting an in with her dad?

Trial after trial

This episode was such an emotional rollercoaster! I was terrified for Chang Yu, Zheng, and little Ning the whole time.At first, they sent Chang Yu to prison based only on her aunt's accusations, without any real evidence. Then we learned that the Fan house was attacked, with Zheng and Ning nowhere to be found. Luckily, they managed to escape and were hiding in the forest, freezing. I bet Ning was so scared, but she didn't panic or show it. Such a brave little girl!Thanks to Zheng, waves—literally waves—of assassins were killed with masterful skill. All his moves held such grace and flawless accuracy; considering he was still healing and not at full strength, it felt truly EPIC!Meanwhile, thanks to Constable Wang, Chang Yu was released from prison and rushed to find her sister and husband—finding them just in time and making her first-ever human kill.Everything that happened next was just as tense: Zheng is back to the state he was in in episode one, Chang Yu's hands won't stop shaking, and they cannot return home as it's been locked down by the Yamen. And then an arrest warrant for Zheng... WTF! Then they are both put on trial again—Chang Yu is sent back to prison for "escaping", and Zheng is accused of being a bandit...Zheng was ready to kill everyone there, as he clearly felt the judge was unfit for his power, handing out guilty verdicts left and right. Thankfully, his friend Headmaster Gongsun arrived with travel papers for Yan Zheng, his scholar. That got our boy released, and Chang Yu as well.My emotions are all over the place. I was so angry at the judge, the aunt, and the assassins... and yet, we still don't know who actually killed Chang Yu's uncle! But one thing is sure—it is all a setup.

Ended well

Everybody that needed to be, was brought to justice and those that needed closure for their lost loved ones received it. Everybody ended on a positive note and the ending was most about their sisterhood rather than trying to pair off as couples. This was ended well and even set up for a second season if they choose. Usually something mars the ending and in this case it was one of the best episodes because it was perfect. We get to see everything we really want to see and the enduring friendship of the roomies was the best part of this drama. This drama was an exception for me because usually I like the beginning more than the ending. With this drama, the story got better with each episode and the ending was everything I wanted from the story. Kudos to cast and production team 👏🏻😁
