The Midnight Romance in Hagwon Episode 9

I genuinely enjoy the way this drama is shot, and of course I really like the script too. Jun Ho and Hye Jin's first night together was comedic and sweet, and shot so naturally that it really just felt like two people who love each other, rather than two people performing together? They're very cute, but I will admit that I'm relieved that the episode didn't lean too hard into the secret relationship at the workplace heehee, and instead pivoted back to Pyo Sang Seob, who's been part of the plot since the first episode but has been pretty much of a non-entity these past few eps.The most interesting scene in this entire episode was actually between him and the temporary teacher. At first, I didn't quite understand the reason for her frustrations, but that's because of a lack of knowledge about the culture, rather than any fault of the script. Now that I've thought about it, I've realized that the temporary teacher was upset because Pyo Sang Seob's insistence on relying full stop on the textbook made it very easy for the students to pass the test, which makes her job harder when it comes to grading. You'd think that every school would be happy if all their students do well, but this is South Korea where ranking means more than anything in this society, which means there have to be students who do poorly so that the ones who do well shine all the brighter. That also means that the temporary teacher has to resort to the most banal deductions in order to preserve the ranking, and because of that, she also knows even more parents and students will complain. It's the kind of situation where no one wins: if you give every student a good grade, then the parents will say no one gets to be number one then, and if you don't, then the students who get penalized for the silliest of mistakes will get all the more frustrated that they're being punished, even though their answers are technically right. This is how I'm understanding it, at least.I would feel more for Pyo Sang Seob if, on upon being asked not to "do anything", didn't immediately jump ship to the cram schools. It makes sense for his character, because he's already established himself as someone who is motivated mostly by his pride. If he really cared about being the last bulwark of education or whatever, then he'd probably have taken the teacher's advice and ran for superintendent, because he'd want to change the system. Except, he's just someone who wants to be taken seriously and respected, and doesn't actually care that much about the institution itself. He just uses it as an excuse to justify his actions. Which is why him becoming the vice-superintendent aka taking what would have been Hye Jin's job if she accepted -- makes so much sense for him.And now he's probably going to pin the blame of the whole situation on Hye Jin. Very funny that as a teacher who apparently cared so much about education, he's now going to become someone obsessed with grades and satisfying parents first. It's pretty short-sighted of him, which is what we need in this drama, since the other characters are mostly good or intelligent.

The White Olive Tree Episode 5

The leads were so cute this episode, especially when working out. It was a funny episode and I particularly enjoyed the scene where Eun Ho and Geum Ho were fighting, it looked very cute. Excited for the next episode, also can Eun Ho please sell her dresses lol!

so cute.. you're going to feel that they are both in love and constrain their feeling but showing in their faces that they are so eager to touch each other.. hmm can't wait for the next epsisode.

i am thankful that Yang Meng told Yo Ki why he was pushing him away & appreciate even more that Yo Ki took a step back & gave Yang Meng the space he needed. there only 4 more ep's to go & it feels like there is so much ground to cover - hope this isn't a rush job at the end that leave us unsatisfied

i feel sad for Yang Meng & his wanting to hide who he is, cause of how unaccepting society is. it's not just his father, but he is living like a hermit on a secluded island like some monk, doing good deeds - like he is repenting for being attracted to men. this so sad. i get that Yo Ki is forcing him to face his sexuality & he isn't ready for that. so he is frustrated & angry, taking it out on Yo Ki is convenient, cause he existence if forcing Yang Meng into real life. if Yang Meng wasn't so terrified of being gay, he would see that the life he is living is no life at all, he is just existing & ignoring problems. which wont go away & sooner or later he will be forced to stand up for himself. **************************************************************************************************** the dude that wants the blonde haired guy - i didn't get his resorting to violence, it was so unjustified - he is starting to annoy me

I seem to be getting more accustomed to the main cast's acting. As I had mentioned previously, the FL, Ace Craige, Dave and one of the girl friends (the one I assume is paired with Dave) are good but now others in the grp have become decent (maybe it's because I got used to it?). The plot is not lacking fundamentally, but I can't ignore some plot holes or the sudden and unnatural progression of events. The execution ofc is terrible but this ep was decent compared to the previous to in terms of making the viewer feel anxious or thrilled. I believe its cuz there were no unrealistic action sequences in this ep. The vibe was overall fine.. but the side characters are terrible.. Celine and Nicki are difficult to look at. Not in terms of look but their expression put me off every time they appear on screen. Man, I wish the entire series was animated like they did with flashback story. Things became interesting then, and that's when I realized how messed up it actually is. Isn't it terrifying, that there is someone among you, who holds the immortality formula and all of you trapped in this hell cause of them? If i were to judge how bad it is to experience that in terms of the previous two ep, I would have been like that's so silly but seeing the animated ver I felt the vibe for the first time ever. The bgm was good. It did its job well. Ofc the colour gradient they have been using is good. Overall, this was much better than the previous ones in terms of plot progression, bgm and most importantly in giving the thrill ( at least for a sec).

MATSUMOTO REIYOOO ,SISTER YOLU REALL HY PULLED THROUGH IN THESE TWO EPISODES !!!I AM SO RPOID OF YOU YPI HAVE GROWN SO MUCH !she did really great though & these were important episodes for her as rinne ,with one complaint is that the first episode did not really high+light rinne’s connection to sawa in their troubled family dynamics. this episode is what i wanted to see from her like two months ago where she is given the opportunity to break+through & rescue herself through her intellectual strengths in really intense situations ;her first move being to save houtaro was nice 。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆ 。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆ this specific episode was stronger than the first part[ last episode]the battle was over+loading so the moments we stop & talk had to mean something & it did. i think lachesis did only what she needed to do but i love the brief display of genuine worry for her sister clotho who is so easily provoked to go to the extreme to prove her might. both this comes after rinne finally agitates atropos & we finally say it out loud that atropos is like this because she wants what she rejects. the facade of being beyond humanity is fully dropped for our villains ,rinne FINALLY fucking enters the fight doing something useful ,spanner finally gets humbled which allows him to respect houtaro enough for this check+point to matter & the teacher had a great teacher moment. which will matter later . . . 。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆ 。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆ this was a great episode to see how far they all habe come ,because this was a ROUGH journey for alot of them. i genuinely think they did really good wtih just some clunky thomgs here & there * hwo i think we could do better but i alwaus believe that so i won’t hold it against them. x–rex was very fun though & came at a perfect time. x–rex’s memory thing is a very novel spin on the character but it also benefited houtaro az lot ,x–rex can believe in him through coming into his mind & seeing his purest truest nature that is beautiful.

All employees are disappointed in Pei’s actions, but in spite of everything, they are work family. They want their family to succeed and next episode will show us how they do it. 😁

what an epic fight scene! our ml and fl make such a power couple. too bad their win was followed up with the very predictable death of mr. bei. it's a sad scene, and cheng lei does well conveying his character's pain, but it would've been more poignant if it wasn't so obvious from the beginning who the body was

The storytelling is seamless, and I love how perfectly connected each scene feels as the plot unfolds. We’re also starting to see some great character moments. One character in particular is such a standout; she is incredibly funny and has an amazing screen presence. I found my eyes glued to her because she isn't just attractive, she is genuinely talented and great at what she does! It’s refreshing to see such a natural, 'cringe-free' performance in a story that keeps me guessing.

this ep was infuriating - OMG but i wanna pay someone to break Phu's knee caps & seeing his grandmother hail & hearty made me detest her even more then i do her grandson. i could care less for the jovial nonsense with all those old f*cker that r in her friend group. seriously, what is Phu's damage?!? he can answer Dina's call, but can't give a sh*t to even text Nan back?!??? like make it make sense... *****************************************************************************************************************& why is Nan even following him??? after the way Phu has treated him not once but twice - why run after him??? why not cut ur losses & say this time i aint waiting a sec, let alone a decade?!?? heck i would look for a new apartment, a new job & wont look back, not after the way Phu broke Nan's heart. sorry but, after breaking down & weeping the way Nan did, he still wants to be around Phu???? *********************************************************************************************************************** sadly Nan is an enabler & he lets people walk all over him, if he can't stand-up to Man (in his work place) how he gonna do so in his personal life?!? pity - wish someone would let him know that he deserves better, alas even if there was a character that told him this - he wouldn't believe it, cause in his eyes Phu is the one slumming being his bff - not the other way around. idk why he got such low self esteem, depressing to watch how everyone pushing him around & he is letting them

r u f*cking kidding me? so it was just cowardice?!? he hurt Nan just cause he couldn't suffer being in a unrequited love??? cause that is what it amounts too. he ghosted someone he knew loved him (just in a platonic way - so i guess it doesn't count) all cause he couldn't be around him & suffer all alone?!?? so he ghosted him & watched from a far as Nan ran around like a madman wondering what he did wrong, searching Thailand & freakin Australia for Phu... also suffering!!! the worse part, he knew that Nan was in pain, cause even without witnessing 1st hand Nan, looking for him he read all the emails Nan sent into the void - in the hopes his bff would read them & contact him. OMG Nan is justified in his anger - i wouldn't decked him without a 2nd thought. ******************************************************************************************************************************Phu doesn't deserve Nan & it's sad that Party that genuinely cares is gonna never get a chance, cause sadly Nan does have romantic feelings for Phu ugh
