A captivating blend of passion, pain and powerful storytelling

From its very first moments, Broken (Of) Love proves itself to be far more than just another romance drama: it's a beautifully crafted story driven by emotion, tension and depth. The cinematography is absolutely stunning, with carefully composed shots that elevate every scene and give the series a cinematic quality. Each frame feels intentional, drawing the viewer deeper into Arisa's complex world of revenge, vulnerability and unexpected love.Faye Peraya delivers a truly captivating performance as Arisa. She portrays every layer of the character with remarkable precision, from quiet pain to fierce determination, making it impossible not to feel every emotion alongside her. Atom is equally impressive, bringing a natural charm and sincerity that perfectly complements Faye's intensity. Together, their chemistry feels organic and compelling, adding authenticity to a relationship that is both tender and complicated. The supporting cast also deserves recognition, contributing strong and believable performances that enrich the story rather than simply supporting it. Every character feels purposeful, helping to build a world that is both immersive and emotionally engaging. What truly sets this series apart is its intriguing and addictive storyline. The blend of revenge, romance and moral conflict creates a narrative that constantly keeps you invested. The tension between past trauma and the possibility of healing adds depth, making it all feel meaningful and layered rather than predictable. The soundtrack further enhances the experience, perfectly complementing the emotional tone of the series and amplifying key moments with subtle but impactful choices.Overall, Broken (Of) Love is a visually striking and emotionally engaging series that stands out for its performances, storytelling and atmosphere. It's a compelling watch that draws you in and keeps you wanting more with every episode. I love it and recommend it!

Power and Strategy

Episode 3 pushes everything further, with Arisa fully stepping into strategy and control. The way she manipulates both Lalin and those around her adds a darker layer to the story, while the emotional tension continues to build. Faye is especially compelling here, whether in the action scenes or the quieter moments, bringing both intensity and control to the role. Atom matches that energy with sincerity, keeping the emotional stakes real, while the supporting cast adds weight to every development. This episode feels like a turning point where power and emotion begin to clash in a way that’s hard to look away from.

Where Control and Emotion Collide

Episode 2 deepens the story in such a compelling way. You really start to see how calculated Arisa is, whether it’s the way she uses her charm to manipulate situations or how she begins to treat Lalin as part of a larger plan. Faye brings a strong physical presence here as well, especially in the boxing scenes, which feel raw and convincing. At the same time, both Faye and Atom keep the emotional core grounded, and their chemistry continues to carry the story beautifully. With a solid supporting cast adding to the tension, this episode makes it clear that everything is becoming more complicated.

I haven't seen a drama that I've liked…

I haven't seen a drama that I've liked this much in a long, long time. The actors/actresses were well cast, even the secondary characters, not just the main leads, although I am now a big fan of both Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei. The plot was well thought out, engaging and generally paced well. A little slow in the beginning and perhaps a little rushed at the end, but overall, still very good. I especially appreciated that this was like a throwback Wuxia drama similar in style to the old Jin Yong novels. There wasn't the modern emphasis on CGI fireworks to replace actual fighting that you see in Xinxia shows, nor the mumbo jumbo made up plot points to fill in gaps in the storyline. The sets, the costumes, makeup, cinematography, everything was top notch. Just a well-made, well thought out story. I have to say that the director was very, very good, and I will look forward to seeing more shows from him in the future.

Perfect!

This episode was a solid 10 for me. The scene with Qin’s parents was so welldone and was so full of sincere emotion. From start to finish the acting was on point. Loved the infusion of jazz.

JUNMO MIGHT CHEAT

YO so now the deals on, with junmo and gicheul on the boat to collect the 30kg, and huiseong on standby, being lookout. Since detective Mingoo was making such a ruckus, dohyeong pays Yankeez’s girlfriend (a drug dealer that was attacked by manager cho and then became MIA) to say that Yankeez had told her that jong ryeol was the one who killed manager cho to distract detective mingoo as the trade goes on. AND YO HAERYEON AND JUNMO GETTING CLOSE AND IK HAVING AN AFFAIR IS BAD BUT LOWKEY THEY MIGHT BE THE AFFAIR IM ROOTING BUT SHE DOESNT KNOW HE’S CHEATING SO I IMAGINE HER REACTION IF SHE EVER FINDS OUT TO BADDD SICNE SHE’S PASSIONATE.

Dysfunctional family plot

I suppose some people enjoy the dysfunctional family storyline, but for me, I just couldn't take it. There was basically no romance and very little martial arts for the episodes that I saw. Granted the romance is supposed to come later, but honestly this was too slow to develop. Too much screen time for the dysfunctional family dynamic with the Grandma and Aunt in particular doing such a good job of portraying annoying characters that it made me want to claw my eyes out so that I wouldn't have to see them. Additionally, there seemed a conscious decision to keep the costumes and make up of the actors really toned down to perhaps be more realistic for the era? But it really did nothing to flatter anybody, and none of the female characters looked good at all, even Zhao Lusi. All in all, it was a not a drama that I could suffer through even though I'm a fan of Zhao Lusi.
