It is getting better.

The story is getting more interesting. Dew and tee both of them are doing amazing jobs here. Kaye's character as one place is very pitiful. Emotionally he is exhausted, he is not getting paid enough for his jobs. There are debt collectors and now he is a suspect. Someone is using his work and killing people. The amount of mental distress he is facing is portrayed by Dew so amazingly. At the same time certain aspects of his character make you suspicious. Tee also have done fantastic job. It is his first main role but you can literally see how hard he worked to give the character justice. Other casts also have done really good jobs. Also dewtee have amazing chemistry. So i am definitely seated for upcountry episodes.

The conniving of second prince and consort Ning

Second Prince covets Shunan’s army and has been seeking a way to get BuShuLin under his thumb to procure it. He is guessing she’s a she because it is far less likely that Minister Cui would like a libertine man. He presented himself to the Emperor with a match to help curb his bad ways. It is encouraged by all to include the Crown Prince. A incident resulting in a young Prince falling in the water and Bu rescuing him has second Prince all ready with a squad of guards to reveal her gender. The cousin is set up with incense and a picture to make it look like she threw herself at Master Bu. XiHe has already had a male double to stand in for her so second Prince is caught off guard to see an open robe and chest exposed. In despair over her ruined reputation, the young lady takes her own life in front of minister Cui and the court. Consort Ning is far from being discouraged since she is carrying the first grandchild, she just moves in to next victim. This is offset by her servant being executed as a result of her evil intentions. Consort Ning is taken aback very briefly as XiHe lists off her crimes. For now, she thinks her baby has made her untouchable for any retaliation. One who has know ShuLin;s gender since childhood has offered to marry her to keep the secret. XiHe is grateful and assures her that she and her family will always be well taken care of, but cautions her to think hard on giving her life away for this cause. That night the Prince has difficulties falling asleep and when he finally gets some rest XiHe takes note of the bruises down his spine from the shots and the complete lack of complaint from the Prince. He is taking his medicine and thanks her for the flower addition. It is helping ease some of the pain for him. Minister Cui thinks their one night stand will give place in ShuLin’s heart for him. He promises her everything and she throws it back at him that a consensual night does not a lifetime partner make. He reluctantly accepts her decision and promises to move out. Shulin made sure he was invited for sing and drink whenever he wanted. I feel so badly for both of them. Previews show she plans on accepting the marriage proposal offered but it looks like a skirmish injures or kills the princess willing to keep her secret. After boldly stating she would be married, ShuLin discovers she is pregnant. Waiting to see how this gets fixed by our palace power couple. I also wonder how XiHe feels about the only living Gu sister being so wicked by nature. It will be more and more difficult to keep her in check while she is in mommy to be mode. Here I thought it would be a happy and lighthearted episode because ShuLin front and center first thing. No such damn luck as more palace efforts to run amok have chosen to make her most vulnerable without support or backing in a quest for the army her family is in charge of. I would like to see her double become a permanent standin while ShuLin and Cui ride off in the sunset to have a family and happy life elsewhere.

the only high point for me in this ep, was…

the only high point for me in this ep, was the head to head between Phatsa & Nahitch (the fact that an "omega" i.e a nothing, a nobody in Nahitch's eyes) was not only able to standup to him, but dominate, was hilarious. the only way that scene could've been better was if that pompous ass of a father walked in & witnessed the apple of his eye being humbled - now that would've been gold! ****************************************************************************************************************************the rest was tiresome crap, sorry not sorry - all the "bottoms" acting coy is making my skin crawl & the fact that Phatsa's still acting like he was dropped into an alien planet, where he might as well be a toddler that needs to learn everything from scratch is getting old fast. maybe this is cute to some or maybe this is a way to explain sh*t to us stupid viewer's - either way, i was over it in the 1st ep. & sorry but the fact the mains got mad chemistry in bed doesn't make up for all that is lacking! ******************now it's just making me fast forward scenes where Phatsa needs constant handholding - if the next ep is more of the same, think i will put this on hold & binge watch it. so i can fast-forward the annoying bit & finish this on a weekend

maybe it's me, but this ep was kinda tame…

maybe it's me, but this ep was kinda tame in comparison to the previous one, it was kinda boring & found myself pausing multiple times until i finished it. Niran didn't seem like he was hurting for money - but what do i know, maybe he is - given what Fei said, maybe he was kicked out of the family - time will tell. but him not destroying the vessel the Yao was put into - who knows Pete's involved in capturing it - doesn't bode well for Pete when that thing gets lose - which it will.... but in the next ep Niran wants to use the demon inside of Pete, so maybe his life's gonna be put on the line just by being associated with Niran. starting this i kinda thought that Pete would be the "bad-guy" what with being possessed & all, looks like Niran aint that holy, if anything he kinda shady. *************************************************************************************************************also i don't like Pete's sister(?) like she is renting with whose money? given the fact their Uncle wants to sell their childhood home from under them & isn't ready to support Pete, am sure the one supporting Ploy is Pete, yet she acting like a spoilt brat?? not cute - *****************************************************************************************************************************side note: didn't take me more then a sec to recognize Krist, even in that get-up, found it/him hilarious...

Prince Xin: a misguided and tragic good guy?

I'm glad I got what I'm curious about: back story into Xin Wang. My finger crossed that he is an actual good guy who loved and cared about his wife the entire time. Maybe he'll turn bad or go mad later because of his obsession for her? I hope it won't be the case even though it seems kind of likely because of plot holes and cliche. Sigh.I just realised, the characters I'm drawn to in this series all have something in common: expressions and emotions. They make me feel things. They seem human. Except the FL. Tian Yuan's reminder & Prince Xin

Another enjoyable episode with good fun from Peter Ho, He Yu and everyone's favourite second couple. I just want to note down two highlights for me:1. Tian Yuan sharing with FL about ML's love and sacrifices for her:+ Yes, it's very nice and heart-warming...- At the same time, it's full of... cliche and plot armours: ML is too OP for a sick person. His poison is supposed to eat his life span away. But damn, dude has a commanding physique, even a veteran general is impressed. If I'm that sick (let's say, his illness is like that of cancer), I won't be able to charge head first at the enemy troupe full of poisoned arrows OR run through the night up-then-down-then-up-again around some alley and mountain on a one-person search party OR climb up a snowy mountain at a dangerously high altitude without proper gears (is it the "chi" thing?) because I'd be out of oxygen and delirious before I get anything done. (Thinking to self: It's a fantasy. It's fictional. It's the grand gestures. It's entertaining. Logic be out the window, bye bye, it's okay.)2. I'm still very intrigued with Prince Xin. This could have been a story with him and FL being the leads. But, I'm good with the current story too. Just being a little greedy. Mao, oh Mao...

​There's a lot to talk about, but I might focus on Mao this time. 👆​As expected, he just pretended to reconcile with WuYi, yet he still wants him to live, and that includes curing his illness. But for what reason? To make him watch how powerful and loved he has become? To get JiaYu for himself and watch WuYi feeling bad, envious or jealous about all that? Or is that some brotherly sentiment from deep within that he's trying to hide? 😒🤔​But he won't be able to get JiaYu — she's not in love with him anymore, which leads me to wonder if he lives in some sort of denial about her feelings, maybe still thinking WuYi has stolen her from him? 🙄 But that's not how it works, Mao! 🤦‍♀️😮‍💨​And I did notice the change in how JiaYu and WuYi address him now by his full name — Li Mao. No more A'Mao or Yizhi... That shows us how distant they've become by that alone. 😬​​Also, did Mao know beforehand about the attempt to kill the Grand Tutor? Maybe he even orchestrated it so he could have a reason to accuse the Xiaos again and get rid of the living proof of his not-so-royal lineage? 🫣😬🤷‍♀️​But WuYi has now saved JiaYu from Mao, and even threatened him. Next time he won't spare him... And when will that next time be? When the Northern forces arrive? 🤨
