The Casting is a Chefs Kiss

In Love Upon a Time Episode 3, the casting truly starts to shine as each actor settles comfortably into their role—Net Siraphop delivers a strong yet subtle performance with controlled expressions and a quiet authority that naturally draws attention, while JJ adds emotional warmth through soft, natural acting that enhances their growing chemistry; Latte steps up with more confident dialogue delivery and a balanced, slightly playful presence, and Kim remains consistent and composed, supporting scenes without overpowering them, while even the actors portraying the servants contribute effectively with realistic body language and tone, adding depth and authenticity to the setting—overall, the episode reflects well-matched casting, improving performances, and a steady, believable build in character dynamics.

Not The Best But Still Good

I really love ด้วงกับเธอ. The acting feels so natural and on point, and I appreciate that there aren’t any unnecessary NC scenes it makes the story feel more genuine. TeeTee and Por do an amazing job, especially considering it’s their first show together.I also really enjoy Jamie and Marvis’s little situationship—it adds a fun dynamic. And I absolutely love the friendship between Jamie, Pae, and Duang. Their bond is so wholesome, and they’re genuinely so funny together, their interactions always make me laugh and feel so natural. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite parts of the show.

I feel like its one of the best esp so far.

He can finally admit he loves Duang and I think its sweet. Its good he finally lets go and have a good cry believe it or not it helps I really don't know why but it does. Qin is very lucky to have found Duang . I wish I could have a Qin in my life thought. He's so cute. I'd marry that boy.

BIG MAMA BIG MAMA, QIN IS A BIG MAMA

TEACH HIM HOW TO PRONOUNCE WORDS IN ENGLISH BEFORE WE SING. HE SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD. I am gonna need this on spotify lmao, i lowkey love this. I am really hard to please with singing, but por sounded good, they just needed to teach him words, spec r and the cup of tea was cringe but fit their vibe. I am giving them a pass with all the singing becasue thats the point of the show, but fuckkk. HE JUST WANTS TO BE LOVEDDD. I was gonna say pors acting was a little meh, BUT THAT SCENE ALMOST GOT MY ASS. FUCKK. TOO REAL. GOOD JOB. HE LOOKS LIKE 3 PPL STACK ON EACH OTHER IN LIKE A TRENCH COAT LMAOO. GOT COCKED BUT I LOVE THEMMMMM. THE PLEASEEEE UHHH. 9/10 LAST EPPPP BRUHHH OKAY BYE!

gears up for the next arc of random side characters

but at least there's only ten episodes left so we're so close to being done. i wish tjr got to keep playing as ji ling because he is struggling so bad as chi wen. the problem with chi wen is that we as an audience keep seeing different motivations (which as gjm lacks subtlety like a brick, we can pretty much tell which ones are real) which makes him hard to connect with. i do wish wu yi wasn't being shafted into a corner in terms of character agency but yeah sure we need to devote time to chi wen crying at 0.25 speed for the sake of the plot and for egregious water sequence as yan an tries to act as well as he can in the water as he does normally (which is not at all).

The show is still good, but I've lost empathy with the male lead.

I'm having a hard time warming up to the ML, Gu Chan Seong. He has several traits that just annoy the heck out of me. First off, his first instinct is always to argue against whatever the FL intends, even if he has no clue about all the concerns and consequences involved. I guess he has some sort of oppositional defiance disorder? And then he has two very irritating tendencies. First off, he only asks questions that he knows the answers to - which the FL points out and gets extremely irritated by. Second, he doesn't ask the actual questions he needs to ask to fill in the giant gaps in his understanding of what's going on. He is arrogant in assuming he knows best again and again, when repeatedly it is clear he does NOT know best. He's like the stubborn husband driver who gets lost but refuses to ask directions. Finally, his worst trait is he keeps trying, more and more, to control Jang Man Wol. He keeps insisting on what she can and can't do.But that's not a good way to help someone. Despite dreaming glimpses of her past life, he seems to make no attempt to really understand why she is the way she is. What traumas led her to become the owner of Hotel Del Luna. He just arrogantly criticizes her constantly. She even tried to work with him to understand his dreams but he insisted on just snarking back at her to trigger her temper and that fell apart.Basically, he is kind of a jerk and not someone I would like in real life. I hope that the story gives him some character growth that will make him more likable.

Not much pizzazz but still great

Junmo’s gaining gicheul”s trust since junmo saved gicheul twice now and we find out that the fishing trip was a chance to hand drugs to the Japanese to distribute. Now gicheul trusts junmo to collect a meth cooker named professor yoon who was an ex convict, only to meet with someone else. He drops the woman off to the the hotel and sees dohyeong waiting for him, and they discuss how gicheul has been handing drugs to the Japanese and donyeong tells junmo the reason that gicheul couldnt pick up the Chinese himself like usual, was because uijeong was able to distract him by asking him to meet up on the same day, which infuriated junmo since she was risking her safety, AND THE DAY BEFORE THIS JUNMO AND UIJEONG MET AT HER HOUSE SAFELY AND HE SAID HIS SORRIES FOR BEING UNABLE TO ATTEND THE FUNERAL AND IT WAS JUST SO SAD SINCE SHE WAS SO WORRIED. IF SHE CHEATS ON JUNMO IM GONNA TWEAK. Now when he was coming back from talking to do hyeong, and entering the hotel the Chinese woman who was supposed to proffesor yoon, entered in, we see oyama taking out his luggage from a taxi, THE RIGHT HAND MAN OF KANEMOTO?? WHY IS THE JAPANESE HERE.
