Absolutely garbage

Completely misses the point of the source novel. Deliberately made changes to the storyline to remove necessary plot lines while the few that remained got bastardised,
Feels like the creators took it upon themselves to make the worst live action adaptation of a novel in SK history.
Just read the novel or webtoon instead and and you'll understand how utterly disrespectful this joke of a movie is.

Trash belongs to trash can

As a fan of ORV novel I'm greatly disappointed. Absolute trash. Actors are acting like robots. The protagonists seems pathetic. Why are they fighting monsters with a pathetic stick?Story is all over the place. The bullied kid was made the bully. Action scenes were a total disaster. The vfx??? Don't wanna talk about it. This movie seem like a chinese add from early 2000s. Don't waste your time, energy n money on this shi..

Painfully bad

I want my money back. This was painful to watch. Non readers cant even understand it, it lacks so much context and would be confusing for ppl who havent read the novel. It sucks, thats all.
Now, this movie in the perspective of a reader, also sucks. The story is all over the place, doesn't follow the original plot, cgi and cinematography is so painfully average (one might even say bad) for a movie that has a big budget. Even so, it seems like they used that budget for the actors, but was that good? No, not really. They couldnt capture the character's vibe and aura well. It was a waste of space, time, and money. Just give up already

Honestly just read the Novel.

Its honestly disappointing. It disrespected the original source material to the very point where it's completely unrecognizable and different from its source, from even the overall messages and symbolism that ORV tried to convey, everything had been completely butchered. But by peeling and stripping away everything to adhere to the general audience's expectations, there won't be anything left to love. for all I could say it's quite disappointing and unimpressive to say the least. This is setting a supremacy for future and prospective Live action adaptations to completely mess up a beloved story by extracting all the aspects that make it great in the first place. You can't even call it an adaptation, it fails in every aspect. the cinematography is incompetent, Additionally some actors with major supporting roles are just completely sidelined for no appropriate reason. This exactly isn't a matter of an "accurate adaptation and depiction" anymore.

THIS SUCK

First of all, you have to know that what is being replaced is not one or two things, but everything.
1. The weapon is changed with unreasonaable reason, they didnt know gun doesnt work on the monster? Please they shown JIHYE with GUN, JIHYE is YJH student, and YJH is a REGRESOR HE IS SUPPOSED TO KNOW!!!
2. Bihyung looked like a damn labubu in the worst way possible, he looks ugly, the dokkaebi is bad looking making my stomach churn.
3. Sangah being basic healer like thats not Seolhwa job. Sangah literally a fighter, a killer, she kills the enemy with the strings they said she used them to heal? What bs.
4. Dokja being a Hero. His ass is not a Hero for the world, his reason is to see the epilog of twsa, the reason he is still living.
5. Dokjas dad is not abusve. What is the point of changing that? Why would they change that?
6. Dokja does not hate his mom. Why change this too? He is the MC yet his character getting chopped so much.
7. Apparently Heewon is the protagonist of twsa. Come on now, Heewon doesnt exist on twsa why would she be the protagonist? What is YJH then?
8. Dokja hates twsa. This is so bad, twsa the reason he is still alive....why would he hates the novel he has read for Ten years...
9. Tl123(?) the author, Sooyoung(?) tells kdj to write the novel himself. She write the novel for kdj why would she say that?
10. The cgi is shit, theater kids could make better movie that this director.

This is the worst adaptation ever.
Maybe because this is more like taking inspiration but scared of being told plagiarism so they went ahead with calling it adaptation.

Lack of trigger warnings

Trigger warning: child abuse, child pornography

The plot was just mid—not particularly impressive or memorable. What bothered me more was the way it was marketed. They should’ve included proper trigger warnings instead of labeling it as a comedy or an “exciting” movie. It felt misleading and honestly quite irresponsible. When a significant part of the story revolves around something as serious and disturbing as child pornography, calling it comedy feels incredibly tone-deaf. It’s not just a poor choice of genre—it shows a lack of sensitivity to viewers who might be deeply affected by those themes. Content like this needs to be handled with care, not brushed off as entertainment.

Don't get me wrong, the actors did well. The marketing just felt off.

Trash

I have no words left. Worst adaptation ever wait, no it’s not even close to an adaptation. It’s just a trash ugh. When the live action first was announced, I was so happy but the moment I saw the cast I lost the spark in my eyes it was DISASTER worse than my life tbh. I hoped atleast the plot would stay same but they changed everything. It just keep getting worse and worse. It’s completely different movie not our ORV.
Please don’t waste your time watching it. Read the novel and manhwa. I genuinely hope this movie flops and disappears into the thin air. If you watch this movie this will be the worst experience ever in your life. Sorry my English is not good. Thank you!!

trash live action that no one wanted

i hope this shit will flop so hard that that misogynist director won’t have any reason to make up another shitty movie sequel.

from the moment they prioritize casting famous actors i knew this movie is set to flop, cause that has to be the worst casting i’ve ever seen. only redeeming casting here is nana as heewon and the actress that acted sangha, which is such a waste bc they decided to be misogynist towards the female characters of this movie.

i fucking hate everything about this live action because first, the original author of the novel doesn’t even approved of this movie as naver (a misogynist company ofc) was the one who decided this masterpiece needed a live action no one even asked for. second, as i stated before, the fucking casting. besides the things i’ve said beforehand, the actor who is acting as dokja doesn’t even know the character he’s acting. the disrespect towards the original medium is loud and they consider themselves artists?? and that leads us to the third fucking reason, everyone in the production literally just disrespected the original source as well as the cultures written in it. they fucking changed everything that i can’t hardly call this my orv, atp they should just change everything from the title to the characters bc this is NOT MY ORV. they should’ve taken the netflix adaptation of kakegurui, it’s INSPIRED but not necessarily the og medium.

i have a lot more to say honestly but i’m just getting irritated again so i’ll leave it at that.

READ THE WEBTOON OR WEBNOVEL INSTEAD OF WASTING YOUR MONEY AND WATCHING THIS SHIT.

DISAPPOINTMENT

You don't even need to watch it, if you want to see a masterpiece, read the manhwa or novel. People who watch and like it are either bots or viewers who have no knowledge of the real story, so I don't think there is a single person who knows the novel and manhwa and will like this series. The biggest reasons for this series' success will be the wrong actors and the wrong interventions made in the scenario.

THE DISRESPECT

disrespect to the original source, to the fandom, and to the story.
KIM DOKJA WOULD NEVER SAY THAT HIS FAVORITE NOVEL IS THE WORST!

they changed so much about the story and weapons. this can't be called an adaptation, this is the director's not-so-fan fiction. we can't (fans) even describe how disappointed we are. if only we can rate it to -1000000/10.

Quality movie that was underrated

This movie...very complicated emotions. Every single time, I have the urge to rewatch...will have to hold it off as it riles many deep emotions and thoughts. Talking about the movie, perhaps I would like to speak some justice on the overall plot & direction. As a fan of Wong Kar Wai's film (Wong Kar Wai, multiple award winning director including Cannes), I am surprised by the maturity of Thai movies these days. Though many critic the different version/releases of the movie, I find the Netflix version to be really good.

I love that this movie explore the loneliness in the vast world, from the start of the movie, it explores each individuality of the character, and how it weaves together that lingering emotions for love. It also tells you that time is not a straight line, but it is emotional, fragmented by memories and immersive.

I also love that the movie explores feeling over storytelling, makes you feel like floating inside a dream or a memory of the character. I have to applaud the cinematic visuals - absolutely breathtaking. From the present world to World War scene, to space scenes and wonderful Phang Nga, the costumes in every different time, the soundtracks...truly amazing!

Lastly, I love the more quiet approach of this movie, the silence, the longing, the chemistry between the characters - intimacy is subtle, much is unsaid, but the feel of longing and love even though being isolated leaves a mark deep in our hearts.

This movie will always be in the list along with some of the greats like In the mood for love, The last emperor, Schindlers List and many more...and while I still tear up every single time watching, I can't wait to see more Thai movies of this kind, and Freen & Becky's growth in their acting career!

it sucks

read the original novel or even the webtoon. don't watch this shit. make it flop let the director suffer for even trying to ruin it for the people who love orv.

dokja is a victim of bullying and violence and yet they painted him as a bully and a fucking murderer? seriously? if you didnt have time to read the novel then you should've just not made the damn movie. why is gilyoung a fucking toddler? why is jihye a grown as woman? why do they have guns? removing the abuse dokja faced, the pain he has suffered through just to cater to incels. removing SA faced by heewon, domestic violence faced by dokja and his mother and the whole coin farming part really tells us about your misogynist mindset. take this la and shove it up your ass you misogynist motherfucker.

Absolute garbage. go read the novel instead.

when i heard there was a live action of ORV, i was definitely interested. i had high hopes for it since ORV the novel and the adapted manhwa were both beautiful and i loved them both. However, after learning more about this live action, to say i'm disappointed is a huge understatement. What do you mean Dokja hated TWSA? it saved his life. What do you mean Yoo Sangah is a healer? she was put back in the misogynistic stereotypes she fought so hard against and that entirely ruins her character. What do you mean Dokjas favorite TWSA character was jung heewon? Jung heewon didnt even appear in the original TWSA. Yoo joonghyuk, who plays an incredibly major role in ORV, has been reduced to a more supporting character in this trash live action. dont watch it, i would never recommend it and for it to even share a name with ORV is practically a disgrace to the original omniscient readers viewpoint. if you're interested in the story, i'd highly suggest reading the light novel online, purchasing it in stores, or reading the manhwa adaption on Webtoon or something of the like. either way, it's far better than this terrible live action.
