It was beautiful

I cannot believe you can watch this movie for free on tubi, it's so well done. I was hasty watching this, since it was morning and I was busy. I skipped some scenes but honestly the story still made sense, which is a very hard thing for movies to accomplish. Even though I didn't watch all the parts, I know that the vibes, the plot, and the characters are all so meaningful and I am absolutely in love with this movie. I don't think i saw the actor for the male lead before, but his acting was so excellent! The cinematography and the music was so beautiful and I cannot emphasize this enough. The story was so fragile and lovely but also sad, I could not stop crying at the end. I was in love with this whole movie.! Please do give this hidden gem a try, and trust me you won't regret it.

Perfect vibes, until the final scene

Our Times is more than just a love story—it's like a cinematic hug that throws you back to the wild and wonderful '90s.

Let's talk about Truly, our not-so-average gal who's head over heels for none other than the one and only Andy Lau. I mean, who hasn't had a crush on a celebrity, right? But wait, there's a twist! Enter Taiyu, the school's bad boy with a heart of gold. And how do they meet? Oh, just your typical chain letter but that turns Truly into Taiyu's personal assistant.

Now, at first, you might think, "Oh, it's just another teen drama." But hold on to your oversized scrunchies, because this movie is about to take you on a feels trip like no other!! The actors bring the characters to life with such charm that you can't help but cheer for them.

What sets this rom-com apart is its ability to sneak up on your emotions. It starts with laughter, throws in a dash of nostalgia with its '90s vibes, and before you know it, you're reaching for the tissues because those tears are coming. I mean, who wouldn't be moved when Taiyu gifts Truly a life-size Andy Lau standee for her birthday? That's not just a present; that's #relationshipgoals right there!

And let's not forget the life lessons. It's not just about romance; it's about friendship, self-discovery, and the awkwardness of growing up. The film takes us back to a time when social media wasn't a thing, and people found joy in simple pleasures like hanging out at comic stores and attending concerts. It's a reminder that life was pretty darn awesome without constant notifications.

In a nutshell, "Our Times" is like a warm hug from your past, sprinkled with laughter, love, and life lessons. It's a rom-com that not only tickles your funny bone but also tugs at your heartstrings. So, whether you're a fan of '90s nostalgia, hilarious romances, or just want a good emotional ride, this movie is a must-watch. Trust me; you'll leave with a smile and maybe a tiny tear in the corner of your eye. Enjoy the show! 🎬🍿✨

Watched for Seo In Guk

Very non-intentional cinematography. Only to light the picture well, not to convey any emotion. The movie about digging pipes underground should at least be a little bit claustrophobic, isn't it? Have you even heard the word "camera lens"?

And what mobile provider is so generous to put their phone lines in sewers underground?

It's not the best movie, but it's weird lively energy I enjoyed. It was especially fun to see Lee Soo Hyeok and Seo In Guk in something more dynamic and different. I feel they had fun filming this project.

A different Di Renjie

I am a big fan of Di Renjie movies and series and always looking forward to any series or movies excitedly. This someone disappointed me from start to end.

The background music in the beginning during a palace scene was way too loud that it didn't fit the scene at all.
Di Renjie is known for his investigative prowess and yet this movie barely did any real investigation that is typical Di Renjie.

3/4 of the entire movie are zombies running and biting people.

The ending was chaotic to say the least.

Lead male did an awesome job with the character but the female Lord Li to me needs to improve her acting skills.

The production is good overall. Make-up is excellent.

this is the first Di Renjie work that I would not recommend at all.

Worth the trip

Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong was a short, sweet romantic stroll through scenic Hong Kong. If Before Sunrise (1995) was made by the Hong Kong Board of Tourism this is what you might get.

Ruby is a Chinese American visiting Hong Kong on business who needs help finding her friends one evening in the bustling city. Josh, an American ex-pat, overhears her problem and offers to show her the way. He’s in finance but wants to be a novelist and she designs popular talking toys but wants to own a boutique for designer clothes. The two click as they walk and talk, the only problem being he has a girlfriend. A year later, they unexpectedly meet again on a ferry. Once again, they spend an evening walking and talking. This time she’s attached to someone else as well.

Josh’s girlfriend doesn’t understand his American pop culture comments while Ruby’s sassy comments go right over her boyfriend’s head. Free spirit Ruby is in a highly structured relationship while Josh’s girlfriend is too afraid to tell her parents that she’s been dating a white guy for two years. The evening walks cause each to reevaluate their current relationships. Josh and Ruby are attracted to each other on physical and intellectual levels. This doesn’t mean they are perfectly made for each other. He loves Hong Kong, exploring and learning about his surroundings and the people while Ruby tolerates it and can’t wait to go home.

Bryan Greenberg was perfect as laidback Josh who enjoyed the beauty and entertainment of Hong Kong. Jamie Chung radiated energy as Ruby cut through the subterfuge with her lightning wit. I did not envy her walking around the city in her high heels though. Richard Ng made a brief appearance as a fortune teller whose bird did most of the work. The real star of the film was Hong Kong’s nightlife with colorful lights and streets filled with people. The couple traveled on foot, by bus, cab, ferry, and escalator. The two were drenched in the hues of golden lamplight and the technicolor of neon lights, spurred on by the verve of the city and their burgeoning feelings for each other.

"When are you ever 100% sure about anything?"
Unlike Before Sunrise, I enjoyed the casual conversations Josh and Ruby engaged in. Flirty and honest (ultimately), they sounded like two people getting to know each other and finding the familiar rhythm of a kindred soul. They weren’t callous adulterers, they were two people walking and talking who over the course of two evenings, set a year apart, began to understand that their conversations were leading to deeper feelings for each other. More importantly, their time together shed light on serious issues in their current relationships. What did they want to do?

For people unfamiliar with Hong Kong, like myself, the strength of this movie was the gorgeous tour of the city. Josh and Ruby may have decided to be together tomorrow in Hong Kong or for her to return to yesterday in Los Angeles. Either way we’ll have the memory of two beautiful nights in a fascinating place.

Yep it was worth the hype

Finally got to watch this and while I admit it had a slow start (like a lot of Asian cinema) once it gained speed it kept me plastered to the screen making me understand that this indeed is a movie worthy of its hype, awards and so on and so on.

This is not a character driven story as no one except for maybe the bad ass sister is actually interesting or lovable for that matter. This is more of a what is going to happen next, this is absurd type of movie making you wonder how much more absurd it can get. While still staying kind of casual... Though the ending is a bit predictable in some ways... other ways not... the main selling point of this drama is in the contrast between rich-poor, dark-light, basement- room with natural light... funny dark humour without those over the top annoying characters we sometimes get. As well as the words not spoken...

Or something like that I actually have no idea what I am trying to say here but I was bored in the beginning got drawn in to this mess, and once it got messy I loved every moment of it.

Acting was top, cinematography and story got better and better...

Speechless

I am in awe and in lost of words. Throughout the movie I was suspecting if there was a "monster" and there is one and it is we our self. My words don't do this movie justice. I have only praises for it. I loved it so much and especially when we get to see the pov of all the characters. Just shows us there is more than what meets the eye. The acting is superb. These kids can fucking act. I am just in disbelief how well can they act. At just a young age they can do THAT wow just wow. Amazing movie.

If only some people can have it, that's not happiness.

This really complicated story. At first i thought this just movie about a mother's love to her child, really think that mother can be monster if her child being bullied, but then as i continue watch it there's more than that. when mr. hiro's and minato's pov show, we kind understand the most of what happening really. and to me who understand that, make me think that im the 'monster' that accused mr. hiro one sidely. aside for the queer part, mr hiro is a kind person, even when his gf leave him, he don't blame everything on minato. even he questioning everything and try to make it sense for him enderstanding what is happening. and yet he felt sorry for minato understanding too late. then the minato's pov start to get me bawling my eyes out. where minato starting to realise what is the feeling he experiencing now, he got happy, sacred, and don't know what to do. it's his first time feeling this type of feeling, he want to tell it to his mom, everyone about his feeling, instead he keep silent, because if everyone know what his feeling, he's never be happy. how this world is so cruel to him to invalidate his feeling to think sort of type? and for my boy yori, i think this pure soul is too tainted by his evil father, what you mean being sloth is superpower, to not felt anything is super. no boy, you must fight it okay. oh well, this movie is open ending, and even minato said they're not reincarnated yet, i want them to died. this world is to cruel to them

You'll ache but in the prettiest way possible

Watched it a day ago and I've realized how there's no getting over... I tried writing down how I felt watching it and then I thought for 50 mins but I just couldn't get the right words to describe this movie without doing injustice to it.
This movie healed me in every way possible... and broke me in every way possible. I didn't even realize how torn I was until it all ended and I was there left to take it all in, Halfway through you just don't feel anything and then it all suddenly hit, like a wave. A big one. It all starts making sense and it just ached. Throughout. Cuz of how real it was and simply on how it was portrayed, So beautifully and really, so beautifully but sadly...

The way they showed us the three perspectives. How whenever we were taken through each of them, we discovered smth new and everything made more sense and the realization just kicked in each time...

The way the two actors portrayed their characters, the way their little actions spoke for everything, the way their smiles, their sorrow spoke for everything, the way their laughs made me feel so happy, but sad, and the way the whole movie was carried out. It was everything it could ever be.

The 10 rating on all of them is real . One of the best movies I've ever watched in my whole entire living...Wanting to rewatch just 15 mins in says a lot on how much of an impact this movie had on me, and everyone who watched it in general.

An underrated and must watch movie

Honestly, I must thank insta for making me watch this movie. If I hadn't seen the reel of this movie on Netflix kr profile on insta, I don't think so I could have come here.
This movie is truly a great work of art. The portrayal of how movies r made and how the cast put their everything into one movie is just definitely commendable. Ofc this movie shows some bad omens that pops out here nd there amid shooting but in the end, it's the dedication and devotion which makes a movie successful.

Fluffy Goodness

As a queer teenager I could only hope to meet my future crush in the future and find out they were also pining after me. This was so cute and I feel like some people would find the whole trope cliche but I felt myself really relating to both characters. This was so cute and fluffy I didn't expect myself to almost start sobbing watching one of the scenes but...I did. I found this love story so cute and soft and could truly feel the love that both characters have for each other. I could definitely see this having a second season/movie but I'm not sure if it would have the same effect. The flashbacks were very cute and the backstory was so relatable.

Beautiful.

I didn't expect to cry as much as I did watching this. I watched it way after the hype and never truly knew why it was so hyped up as I didn't enjoy the webtoon from what I read before dropping it. I enjoyed both of the leads and think they did amazing portraying their characters. There is a kiss when one character is sleeping which isn't confronted later which made me slightly uncomfortable and would feel wrong to not bring up on how it made me feel. However I truly could feel the natural chemistry between the two even during their "enemies" stage and found the bickering very cute.

It’s either love or luck; you can’t have both.

The concept is relatively new – it’s literally about love and gambling – something you rarely see focused on every now and then in Asian movies. The premise of this movie is straightforward: two strangers use their 'luck' to gamble their way out of debt and fall in love. The main conflict has already been established right from the beginning, making it easier for the audience to just enjoy the whole story without having to think much about it. The only thing that will leave the audience anticipating is how they will deal with the cardinal rule of being ‘life charms’ – that neither of them can fall in love with each other. Even though the plots flow smooth and nicely, they leave little to the imagination. The clichés are expected too. But since it’s a rom-com, I’m well aware that I shouldn't expect much.

In my opinion, Jericho Rosales and Bela Padilla’s acting is what elevates this rom-com. It’s refreshing to see Jericho play an imperfect, pitiful, uncharismatic character, which deviates from the serious-sappy persona he usually portrays. Bela naturally and effortlessly nailed the typical hopeless romantic character - I love her! I’m amazed by the great chemistry Jericho and Bela have, considering that this is the first time they are paired together. The 'falling in love’ scenes are so natural, making it impossible to not smile like an idiot. Despite not being a love team, the tandem of the two actors makes the movie a very entertaining romantic watch. I hope they can act together again in the future. Overall, this is well-made and well-acted escapism fluff, and I enjoyed it.
