Deep Dive into the Human Mind and Obsession
First time reviewer here, but I especially felt compelled to write a review for Ghost Lab. I am extremely unfamiliar with Thai dramas and actors, but the acting (and the storyline) was phenomenal here.Ghost Lab stars off very lighthearted and almost comical, but you quickly get the feeling that there’s something very wrong. As you ride along with the characters, you take a dive into the psyche of not only the main characters, but their families as well. Ghost Lab attempts the explore the limits of human emotion and obsession through exploring ghosts and the afterlife.
10/10 would recommend giving it a watch!

I do not know what to say!
You know that saying that goes like" if you do not have anything good to say then silence is the best way?" I want to adhere to it but ultimately I failed. This movie contained two-story, one, which was full of plotholes and ended abruptly. like what happened?
I was getting invested. The second story I watched hesitantly but it bored me ....
DO not bother watching this movie if you want a good story. there was none. The acting impressed me a little bit. a little bit!
Also, if I had not read the synopsis I might even be more confused> Would I have been able to understand it when it was released in 2014? no.

Don't even bother
The movie is below average for me. There isn’t much story in it. All about teaching surfing and living in a guest house with three other guys.It is referred as comedy movie but I didn’t find a lot or maybe I got so bored for looking for story rather than watching how to learn surfing. One positive thing, this movie has, it shows how the lead actor follows his heart and in stead of giving interview, he comes back to beach for surfing.
The quote I loved in this movie most is ''Your life is a series of choices you make''.

Will he able to catch his father's culprit?
The story is simple yet beautiful. The most attractive part is the friend, It's remind me of my school days. Of course, it is hacking movie but it's not all about hacking, it's about friendship,college/school days moments. Unlike hacking movie,it is really funny. However, the ending is totally unexpected. I really don't want to spoil it. I was expecting some kind of bomb that going to explode at the end but it isn’t. I rather found it lame.
Twenty Hacker tells the tale of Jae-Min, who lost his father after some hackers use ransomware to attack his company’s servers. For taking revenge, he keeps telling himself,''To protect your house from thieves, you must think like a thief and to catch a hacker,I must become a hacker'' and puts his all energy to become a hacker. Eventually he developed an extraordinary white hacking skill.
Despite that Jae-Min seems having perfectly normal life such as going to school, doing part time job, hanging out with his only one best friend named Jo-Hae.Nobody knows about his hacking skill except for himself.
Somehow, Jae-Min soon catch the eye of Cho's who also practices white hacking and run ''Better World'' group for helping others from cyber attacks. As the ''Better World'' group members become his friends, he involves them in his revenge plan and tells them to help him to find out his father's culprit.
Meanwhile,he along with other group members stopped scam schemes from happening including his best friend father from getting robbed. They are getting better together and racing against black haking.
Will Jae-Min able to catch the hacker whom he is been looking for years?

Call on me
Yi Shu works in the office of a Funeral Home Company, She is a bit dense, unlucky and nice, her name has a meaning related to being unlucky. In a wave of celebrities phone numbers turning public, her phone number is by mistake listed as of the singer Tian You, and a wave of calls and phone messages comes to her (Remember: it's 2006 phone technology). Meanwhile young, but sick/ill Xiao Wen calls the number in hope Tian You sings his own made song, but Yi Shu is the one to answer the call. The plot about the singer is very cliché, She is a Pop singer, but she says I want to make art, yeah, feels cheap for me, pretty sure there is some Pop singers who cares about art, but in the movie its feels fake. She got depression cause her company wants her to do her job, we can't rush "Art" She says. Her company has sickly employees tho.
The only good thing in the drama is the call interactions between YiShu and Xiao Wen, since both are having a hard time in their life, tho his situation is worse. I remember seeing the MV of the movie on Youtube last year (I'm a newbie actor Hu Ge fan)I don't like the song, but they did a good job in the last song scene. Overall is a nice and short movie to watch on a Sunday noon. Youth, soft and dramatic.

Pretty main lead but nothing else
So, It was an absolutly horrible movie. Filled with harassment, mental abuse and r*pe in parts. I was actually so shocked by the ending when he said he could understand gay men now. Like what? It made all the harassment okay? Like just because you are gay doesn't mean you go around abusing people. Like this movie was so dumb I can't even. It was terrible. I wish I hadn't watched it. It was pure disgusting at times as well. I hate it so much. like he just kept having bad experiences one after the other. They kept coming and he had to deal with it. Horrible ending as well. Horrible, don't watch at all. The only good thing about this movie was the main guy was very cute and handsome at times. That's it.Was this review helpful to you?
SCIENCE NEVER LIES BUT HUMANS DO
Thailand never fails when it comes to Horror. Ghost lab is a simple story of two doctors trying to prove Ghosts exist. The visuals and horror scenes were scary :) THAI Horror is not just a genre, it's an emotion. There weren't many jumps scares but it was an epic thriller-horror and I enjoyed it so much. It was so nice seeing Nychaa, Ice Paris, and Tor together. The acting, cinematography, music, and direction were amazing. I loved it. The ending is so beautiful. The movie not only focuses on Ghosts but also on the human mind. The chemistry between Tor and Ice is raw and interesting. The movie is worth watching and I recommend it.Was this review helpful to you?
Boring and predictable storyline
The story is pretty plain and also really predictable. I felt like dropping it in half way, it was too boring .But just couldn't help watching to see how it ends. It all about the lady police is being criticized over her gender, crimes evolving women and the welfare lady being too involved with a child, even she invaded her house several times. Really! Who cares that much? What happend in the end doesn't make sense:). But the message that the movie wants to convey through this movie is so heartbreaking.I really don't know about the Korean law but if it is true what was said in this movie then it's a sick law. How can a child can be sent to his/her parents if they are abusive and doesn't matter if they beat his/her till dead. I don't know is it true or the movie is exaggerating it.

I'm going to start off with what I liked. The quality of the miniatures, sets, 1968 special effects, and space ship was quite good. I had to remind myself that this movie came out a year before the first manned trip to the moon. I appreciated their optimism that the world would be fully cooperating in 1999 not just on Earth but the moon as well. On the monster front, eleven popular Kaiju stars made appearances: Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, Mandan, Kumonga, Baragon, Varan, Gorosaurus, Minya, Anguirus, and Ghidorah. The fight near the end was all you could hope for in this era from Ghidorah against Godzilla and friends.
What let me down about this movie-in a movie called Destroy All Monsters, I want to see monsters. I suppose it could have been talking about the aliens because out of 88 minutes, the monsters were only on screen for around 18 minutes. The alien story could have been interesting but the acting was stiff and unemotional from humans and aliens alike. There were some entertaining moments, but not enough to keep me from wondering what the monsters were up to while the humans were talking.
Even though I was happy to see all the monsters in one movie, it would have been nice if they'd felt like the stars instead of guest stars in their own movie.

What happened to the promises to ourselves?
This was the best Korean film from the dozens I've seen so far. It explores the then and the now, and how sometimes our original dreams and promises to ourselves and to others get sidetracked by the situations of life. In this case, the reunion of the school friends, and the memories that it brings back, on one side showcases the difference between the hopes and dreams and what the women really achieved, but slowly the gap between the past and the present gets smaller and smaller, and in a very subtle and beautiful way their past selves help bring back the vitality, self-confidence and hope, changing the present as well. A film about friendship and solidarity, about challenges and growth, but also much more than that. It is a film that will make many of us who are adults reflect on where we are going, whether we've lost our direction and how to get it back somehow. The writer and the director sensitively balance between laughter and tears, but even the tears are tears with a smile. One of the most sweetly heartbreaking scenes is the now mature main lead's visit to the man who was her first love and how she hugs her younger self at the station. The actresses, younger and older, are all top notch. A film that you may want to see again and again, and that you're not likely to forget. Was this review helpful to you?

find the Director's cut
If you can find it, the Director's Cut really makes the story make a lot more sense. It adds only 20-30 minutes but frankly I'm not sure why those scenes were cut while the long boring parts of the father in the hospital remained. It clocks in at 3 hours though so it is quite long. This is one of my all-time favorite films. While it's not perfect it still makes me cry in all of the same places, especially the ending. For me Ying was the most important character and the hero of the film. But I am a sucker for unrequited love stories and characters who give up their loves because it's best for everyone.

I really like it
If you watched Pornographer, you “must” watch Playback and Spring Life Continued. I posted before, according to the Twitter of the production company, the correct order to watch is Pornographer, Mood Indigo, Spring Life, Playback and Spring Life Continued. I didn’t know this and watched SLC first before Playback because SLC was available. Not a big deal but watching SLC the last will definitely give you a better feeling of completion. I have to admit I haven’t watched Indigo because Kido creeps me out. I will probably watch it eventually. Now about Playback, I love this better than Pornographer. This dives deeper into the personality of Rio and the development of their relationship. I think the whole series is a 9 for me. But bear in mind this is a movie, so compared to the series, everything here is a little rushed. I still think it showed everything needed to be told. I don’t really think I have spoiler in this review but I checked that anyway. ☺️

The long road to the destination we all knew
The first thing I want to say is that I deeply appreciate that they made the decision to make this a movie and not a second season, a few months ago at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic that the world faced, the format of home series invaded us, some very good (like Gameboys or Hello Stranger) and others so bad, but so bad that I will not even mention them here because I refuse to give them even the slightest recognition.Obviating the production and acting, these series were a success mainly because of the proximity, around the globe as has rarely been seen before, we were all living a situation similar to those presented in these series, we all had to face the new model educational and work, loneliness, confinement, fear and uncertainty, we all feel for a moment that the world stopped, in that context is where these series are born that quickly conquered our hearts for their simplicity, but at the same time familiarity.
And although the situation continues to be complicated (unfortunately in some countries more than in others) the reality is also that in a certain way the return to "normality" has begun to occur gradually, so it seems to me a more than correct decision to place this film is that transition towards a normality more similar to the status quo, keeping the distance clearly.
Now leaving that point established, we walk itself to the history of the film, although I think it is a bit "unnecessary" it did not seem bad at all, but let me sink in on this point; the first season (let's hope only one, that the BL has already demonstrated with enthusiasm that the second seasons are not its strong suit) closed the plot that had been presented to us from the beginning, although they are not explicitly "boyfriends" it is more than clear that their feelings are mutual and the rest can be concluded by the spectator himself.
The film decides to go the lengthy way in search of that ending that we all knew they would have, please no one expected that they did not stay together, it would have been an intrepid decision (perhaps based on genuine moments of frenzy caused by the strange pandemic life) but That was never on the way to take and it shows in the second one, well, the point is that due to fate, the ex-girlfriend of one of the protagonists needs it and he sacrifices his true love for his sense of responsibility, so far nothing new the truth, the protagonists are forced to live together on a school trip and it is from this point that everything turns into a great check of all the tropes of any series or romantic movie, BL or not: same room, seeing themselves naked "casually", feeling jealous for a new subject (who has zero possibilities, even more so if his introduction happens in the middle of the film, the viewer would never forgive that, mainly because do not know this new character at all), a breakup, a new failed reboot attempt, a public confrontation, a character that very Obi Wan makes the character or characters reflect on their true feelings, a beautiful reconciliation and confession in the beach, a kiss, the end.
As I said, a great check of everything that has to be done in a film, the reality is that it does not contribute anything new, or innovative and many of the emotional and close resources of the series are lost here, however, the film does not It is bad, it is quite short so it is not annoying at any point.
Despite being a fairly common film, it has some elements that make it entertaining, to begin with, all the main and secondary characters are pleasant, none of them is a villain, nor are they intriguing people or anything like that, they are normal young adults and despite that there are some tensions between them, each and everyone acts like normal people, they are polite among themselves and their intentions for others are not negative, although they are selfish at times, but under the line of real people.
Let's see a bit of the party scene, I liked it a lot, the main reason I think is that despite them being the focus of the scene from the viewer's point of view, they are not the center of the action for the rest of the characters, they are one more, living their own affairs, this of course is personal taste, but something that in general bothers me about the teenage or college romance series is that: it seems that everyone cares too much about what they do, in life really things are not like that, maybe your friends care a bit, but let's not lose our minds, no one is going to found a fan club for you, least of all at university those people are only worried about surviving; so personally the montage the scene seemed like a pretty good decision.
Anyway, the film does not add anything new to its own history, nor to the world of cinema in general, but it is entertaining and the romance is sweet, the good thing is that you can also see the series and the film as separate products so the existence of neither of them ruins the other for you, which in general is a good creative decision in this type of production.
Finally, I don't want to leave without mentioning: What happened to JC Alcantara? What do you feed that boy? He grew like a lot, right? He is also beautiful, he realizes.
