Unoriginal, yet entertaining; funny

If you like the older women/younger man trope than this is for you and of course if you like Fan Bing Bing and Aarif Rahman.

Storyline/Plot: The storyline is not original but it was a nice touch on the whole one-night stand trope. It was funny, which was good since it wasn't so serious of a movie. I liked how the movie didn't take itself serious since their was not One serious moment. I didn't expect it to be that funny as I tried to not wake up my whole household. In the beginning, I thought it was gonna be a bad movie the way it started but I was wrongly mistaken.

Acting/Cast: I liked the cast, I am not a serious fan of Fan Bing Bing since she always looks like she is in a photoshoot. Also, I don't keep up with her in general. She was really good playing her character thought even though she (the character), Michelle was frustrating at times. On the other hand, Aarif Rahman was good since I am familiar with his drama's. This was the first time watching his movies yet his acting was different than his drama's. Which I guess was because of the character that he plays. Also, his English is very good since this is a Chinese/English mixed movie. I hope that he does more of these one day. Also, his facial expressions are so realistic and funny.

In conclusion, I really would recommend this for entertaining purposes, something light hearted and not to take seriously. Especially, if its late at night and you want something to watch but don't want to start a 40+ episode drama.

This movie surprised me in a positive way. It's quite heavy and i'd appreciate if it was maybe half an hour shorter (perhaps get rid of the way too explicit sex scenes). But overall, love the songs, love the camera, costumes and sets, Jo Ingsuk is hot qnd the longer i watched, the more attractive he became. I also liked that homosexuality was not really an..issue here? Like nobody threw homophobic remarks in there. Unlike some people, i found the ending perfect (so i guess it's a matter of taste). Just don't watch this if you want happy bl story, it's really not.

Copped Out At the End

Super Me has a great premise and it starts off great. Sang Yu is a young poor writer that learns to harvest his nightmares for big rewards. His greed and desire for the woman he's been pining away for gets the better of him. Sang Yu learns taking short cuts to achieve ones desires can come with a hefty toll.

The writing for the most part is good. Everything was going along fairly well until the end. The writer fell upon cliches and contrivances to move the story forward. The story is whitewashed leaving you with a happy hopeful ending then it takes a slight turn. I'm guessing the turn is supposed to spark debate and conversation, but, to be quite frank, I just didn't care. The CG effects were great.

The cast did their job. Darren Wang did a good job as Sang Yu. Everyone was just... good. They weren't bad. They weren't fantastic. They were just good. Actually, the pancake salesman, who was in the movie all of 10 minutes tops, gave the best performance out of everyone. He's a veteran actor and it showed. Cao Bing Kun's Sang Ge was also fun to watch.

Aside from the lead female singing (she was so unimportant and truly unnecessary in my opinion), the music was ok. It supported the scenes. I have no reason to watch this again unless I skip from dream sequence to dream sequence. I can't say I wasted 90 minutes watching it, but I do wish I'd had watched something else.

It was just okay

I wrote this review because there wasn’t one.
This Thai movie was a bit strange. I neither loved it nor hated it.
The story, based on a novel, it includes sexual assault.
The title summary is very accurate.
It is a movie where there really isn’t much character development.
I liked the main character even though his actions are questionable.
What I liked most about this movie was the choice of movie settings, the homes, and gardens were beautiful.
I also liked the crazy wrap up of the film.

Hollywood Level Gore

There was a whole lot of violence and a huge amount of gore for a Korean movie , which surprised me. It suited the plot, however.

A definite action movie, which could have been formulaic but wasn't because it was extremely well-paced, crisply written, and outstandingly cast. This was a high quality cast which lifted the story far above where it would have been with lesser talent. Even when actors were portraying stereotypes, they were skilled, nuanced, and sardonic; those roles which could have been trite were made amusing and believable by superior acting. I thought the settings were well-chosen and some quite beautiful. I can't say much about the Bechdel test, since there was only one woman in the movie, and she was terrific in her part.

I have to give special credit for the lead male character who managed to make all other mobsters look like pansies in comparison to his sheer, unstoppable, relentless determination in his final scene.

I might watch it again to pick up things I missed during the first go-round, and I would still enjoy it just as much.

As exiting as a Omok game

I think it was as exiting as an omok game is in real life, mostly boring but with some fun moments... (but actually I would not know, having never played). To be honest I chose this for the watch challenge, would probably not have continued watching it if it where not for it being less than an hour long and my lack of interest in bordgames.

The main character is actually pretty sweet and lovable, her interaction with the kid is great and they both exhibit pretty good acting skills as well (you may recognize the kid from Sky castle). There are some jokes that are funny, especially the way they cover up swearing (yes I am childish and enjoy seeing smileys instead of swear words).

The side characters are mostly annoying, and have this low forced humor about them that may cater to others taste just not mine. I can not really put my finger around what makes this show mostly boring. Seeing the acting is mostly pretty good, the story not bad and two of the main characters actually being lovable,... I guess you will have to watch it to find out or just skip it because honestly it is not even worth that hour.

Seeing this is the first review for this show/movie... others may just as well have felt that it was to insignificant to review... and if you love Omok, I´m sorry if I offended you , I may have liked this more if I knew anything about omok... I should know more about it after watching this (it even has tutorials) but no my mind is completely blank.

an eyeopener on the school bullying

●HOW I CAME TO IT
I rewatched this movie and it as the same feeling when I first watched it.
I am writing this review to to make my heart hurt less.
I am overwhelmed with the movies deep trance. For a few minutes I was like what happened. It made a huge emotional impact on me.

●PLOT VIEW
A young school girl who took such a huge step, was it easy for her NO. She feared it too but then life was more painful to her. The abandonment from family, the social ostracization, name calling and murder suspect. With each passing day she struggled hard and reaches out to everyone in the climax river scene who just stood there as passive bystanders in the past and now too.
Mother daughter transitioned relationship was terrific. At the same time qi ming who lived next door, and his happy life gives a great juxtapose with a rich and happy with poor and cold family.
The one childhood friend who talked to her got washed away in the lies and rumors. no one trusted her. he see her fighting back, but where is he when she got stepped on by the bullies.
That friendship among the crowd of bullies is another emotional undertone. She was strengthened but at last she loses that one ray of hope in her life.
Our society thinks, oh she is a school girl what problems could she have. But the same society doesn’t accept us if we don’t have good background or rich parents. If one gets a mental health problem or any kind of disease, people view them as untouchable felonies.

●ACTIING/CAST
Ren Min as yi yao aced her role, with her innocent face and deep eye expression.
Xin Yun Lai as gu sen xi is fresh and upbeat character in the gloomy movie. He really stands out.
Zhao Ying Bo as qi ming as childhood friend seemed nice, he gives his vibes of friendliness nicely.
Vivian wu as the ignorant mother was an ace too. She is like a huge pillar in support of a building.

●REWATCH
I rewatched it and liked it more than the first time.

●APPRECIATION
The cinematography is amazing. The use of lightening, the standout uniform, each scene is bewitching.

●CRITICISM
Where was the school administration when all the bullying was happening. Isn't it a school obligation to give a safe environment to all the students. school also put the blind eye to all the bullying and instead turned her into a guilty for fighting, please do a proper investigation for gods sake.
The parents bully kids should also have kept their eyes open on what there kids are upto. No body is born bully, but what leads them to doing so is. We sympathize with the victim but lets also take a peek on bully and give them an enlightenment on what's wrong and right.

●QUOTES
Death is not painful. Life is. - YI YAO
They know you’re afraid and they are excited. Your fear is the stimulus. You need to fight. Eye on eye. Teeth on teeth. - GU SEN XI

●AFTERTHOUGHT
The movie is sad and depressing reflecting the social norms of the society. Its dark yet realistic movie. Its incredible poignant representation might leave soul stirring impact so if weak hearted avoid it.

Bloody, brilliant, brutal, bad-ass. beautiful...

This movie starts off very bloody, to be honest it has a pretty bloody yet surprisingly boring start but when it gets good, it gets really, really good...

Both the females lines in this drama are just gold, every singel one of the females lines in this drama are truly brilliant, convention breaking greatness! Making these characters so much cooler then the bloody gangsters with their fists and knife fights. Honestly I could not care less about the bloody fights I loved this for the dialog, the dynamics and chemistry between the leads. That and though this is not a romance the tension and the humor between them was great (I want to see these two in an action rom-com drama).

The male leads voice was extremely hoarse and in that very sexy in a bad boy that can ken easily kill 20 people kind of yet stil have this adorabel teddy bear heart kind of way...

The female leads look on life, death end respect towards the elders is not only refreshing but also makes great comedy. She is also incredibly good with guns! And the perfect match to the male lead.

All in the gorgeous setting of Jeju island with just beautiful scenery and cinematography that is just lovely. The ending is very interesting, and is the perfect combination of happy and tragic ending.

This drama also teaches us, stay in school, do not join a gang, but if you happen to find your self in a gang do not trust any one and to all just keep being suspicious and know you can never truly feel safe!

Good acting

No wonder Yoo Ah-in bagged the best actor award at the Baeksang this year. Despite the absence of dialogue, he was able to convey the message his character and role intended. His impairment somehow served him good for the labor he is engaged in. Lessened the burden of guilt and morality. As the story progressed, he was left to tend a girl that was purely meant to provide a source of income. Contrary to his job, the girl still saw something in him that made her choose to stay. In the brief period they spent together, it is disheartening to see how the girl condoned the same practice (cleaning the mess) when confronted with the unprecedented situation with the cop. This movie is a good illustration of 'action speaks louder than words' adage.

Lovely underrated movie.

☆Watch if you like bunnies.
Don't watch if you hate apples.☆

I shall give a few reasons why this movie was good.

1. The female lead has an adorable quirky personality that you can't help but love, with a natural beauty and not one of those annoying high-pitched voices.

2. The male lead is cute and shy but still very handsome and smart.

3. A lot of fluffy and really funny scenes that make you blush and laugh.

4. Storyline was surprisingly fresh in it's own way.

In short, a cute drama thar you should just give a try :)

"Take after whoever you want to take after"

Really simple family story about uncertainties of the future and parental pressures that you have to go through, overcome and then reconciliate but greatly done so. The movie has a really lighthearted tone giving that "everything will be fine" vibe even when the characters are fighting. I like how the parents were portrayed in having troubled understanding and communicating with their daughter really gives that backdoor perspective on people that you don't necessarly relate too (I'm more around the age of the daughter).
Aestheticly I loved the camera work, really unique and makes every scene much better to experience, even sometimes made me laugh, also it's that type of movie where you hear the cars in the background the birds chirping and the tender blow of the wind instead of some melodramatic music, really makes you feel like you're in korea in a warm spring day and not in some soundbox, really fits that kind of movie.

It's that kind of movie people like to call "boring" or "a waste of time" as if you needed some grand plot and multiple twists to convey your ideas, in my view this is the entertainment part; the form. But art is made so that ideas are spread around efficiently and beautifully and this movie did that very well for me.

No matter who your parents are and what mistakes they've done and no matter how much your circumstances resembles that of your parents you can take after whoever you want and achieve what they couldn't, you are you and no else, embrace yourself and declare that you shall succeed where others could not. The message is tiring to hear but it is the truth: Try, because if you don't you'll never know, try because if you fail you may try again and that is the way life, try until you can't, try until the very end.

Don't mind the rating, i don't know how to rate even more when you're asked to rate individual parts, I judge things as a whole and how well they exist as a whole.
Bye everyone, have a good life :)

An extravagance of fast paced visually appealing action

Whelp...I watched this cause I'm a fan of the lead actor, especially in action dramas, he puts so much emotion into most of his roles and he's a total hottie. I really didn't expect much more than some late night eye candy, but this Movie definitely did not disappoint. This movie combines the "gamer friends meet up IRL to battle bad guys" theme with the "wrongly accused and fight to prove your innocence" theme. To be fair, I'm probably predisposed to liking this movie because I'm a gamer chick and anything where gamers kick ass is a 10 in my book (plus, let's be honest, I'd really like to think the dudes on the other end of my Discord calls are as hot as Ji Chang-Wook).

The movie itself is a fire hose of action and splashy high-tech concepts all sort of projectile vomited at you while Ji Chang-Wook sprints and spins across your screen. The lead antagonist is essentially a serial killer whose turned his passion into his occupation. At first, I wasn't sold on the actor choice for the bad guy or his acting, but as the movie progressed I ended up 100% on board with hating his rotten guts. Dude has an outburst at one point where he's so excited and pissed off at the same time that he's literally drooling on himself while he grins and flops his inept body around a kitchenette. He looked legitimately evil and I was pretty impressed by his performance from that point on.

The biggest downside to this movie is that it tries to do SO MUCH in such a small amount of time (vs a 16 hour drama setting). So whereas in a drama like Vincenzo you'd see them pull off crazy shit and then they'd backtrack to show you the setup, in this much shorter platform they've basically kept the "pull off crazy shit" and just not bothered with the how of it all. That leads to some pretty sizeable plot holes where you have to suspend your disbelief a little bit. But then...it doesn't seem like they were really going for in-depth cerebral mind blast so much as pure action badassery.

One scene I really enjoyed was a fight scene in a pitch dark room between the hero and a group of bad guys. He cuts the lights and throws grains of rice to hear from the sound where the bad guys are. The way they've depicted that scene is pretty cool, the sounds are represented by sort of splashing paint on objects in an fluorescent aqua light. It was pretty well done and looked incredibly sick. I appreciated the typical Korean storytelling mastery of taking an innocent seeming object (in the case the rice) and planting it earlier in the movie with an innocuous scene and then tying it back in as a key plot point later on.

Overall I'd give it a pretty high rating as a fast paced action with extravagant fight/car/tech scenes. I'd for sure rewatch it, but mostly because the lead actor is legit badass.

Legendary Strike was close to being a legendary strike-out. Somehow a film that starred kung fu powerhouses Angela Mao, Carter Wong, Casanova Wong, and Chen Sing underperformed in the fists and kicks.

The story had some fun twists and turns. There were corrupt Ching nobles, Ming rebels, Korean sympathizers, Japanese characters, monks, fake monks, and real monks in disguise all after a pearl that is a holy relic, but there's also a fake pearl and a poor dead body dragged around the country side. With all these moving pieces, of course there are double crosses galore.

The story had potential, unfortunately some of the best fighters were missing for big chunks of time during the movie. Angela Mao doesn't appear until the 30 minute mark and Carter Wong is also vastly underused. Paul Chu plays the ML and he is out classed by the kung fu fighters around him and it shows.

The soundtrack often sounded like spaghetti western music and I suppose with all the outdoor settings and classic good guy versus bad guy fights only with fists or swords instead of guns it was fitting.

Many kung fu movies end abruptly as if the crew ran out of film but this one had a particularly unsatisfying ending. The saving grace for this film was simply being able to see the cast in action even if they were often underutilized. Legendary Strike may not be legendary but it did have some entertaining moments.

Where I have been in 2016

OMG, I wish I didn't see the movie it's broken me into pieces, and the shock when it's based on a true story, I feel so sad about what kind of fate that's waiting for her in japan but in the end, she finally made it back to her homeland and all her memories coming back.

Besides the director make a great job by choosing an amazing actor & actress for this big movie and also the rest of the team make a great job on the music and the way of writing the senior.

This movie tells us how great nations and countries like Korea face injustice from the japan empire but they paid the full price through nuclear attacks by the USA in 1945.

It was a night in hell to even watch this

Night in Paradise is so far the worst Korean movie I've seen and I do not understand the raving reviews at all. This movie somehow made gangsters boring as fuck. The only remotely positive thing was the set up for the main character's humanity, which they set up brilliantly.

I didn't even finish watching this and stopped an hour and a half into it since nothing fucking happened. I almost fell asleep while watching this. This movie was truly not worth my time.

I don't know where the writer and director was going with this plot because it truly went nowhere.
A waste of my time & energy and I'm baffled that Netflix thought I would love it since they have it a 91% match. Well I hate to break this to you, but it ain't worked. I also hated the bleak colours (I basically hated everything).

Even the gore did nothing for me and I usually love gore!

The title of this film should have been night in hell since I watched this at night and it was a hell to get through. This truly wasn't good in my opinion.
