Take it for what it is, a nonsensical ride with many queens.
Another old school BL but this time Taiwanese.Fun at some points, desperately bad at others.
I enjoyed the OST, old pop rock style.
I remember liking Ah Shin a lot (is a cutie and a keeper) and not understanding how he was so blindly in love with his friend that wasn't exactly a good catch, his girlfriend will testify. But oh well, she wasn't one either.
Please, someone make Peter Jackson watch the scene where they recreate The Lord of the Rings haha, i cannot.
Quite eccentric, during the progress of trying to win the gay contest, many characters have some funny moments.
Don't look deep and take it for what it is, an old funny and nonsensical ride with many queens.

A disapointing roller coaster worth to watch, at least the first half
One of the biggest disapointments i had with a movie. The first half is stunning, visually, the 90's vibes, the OST... I am a huge fan of Ohm, for me he is one of the best actors that works on the BL industry, he is seriously skilled. I was in love, the first half.
The turning point from the plot is... stupidly bad. The supernatural, reincarnations, high school, age gap... just no. And trust me, i am not the person who is against making movies with socially unacceptable plots, i watch the weirdest things that are unconfortable to many and i am ok with it (i watched a dude tell how he was in love with a male GOAT for over 20 years and proced to have sex with a guy dress like one, and i laughed till i cried), is a movie and art is there to explore.
The problem is that it doesn't work, at all. And the old actor cannot stand a candle compared to the young ones. From there is a train wreck, and only a few scenes are kinda worth it.
The OST is a keeper. Ohm is a Keeper. If you want to see him in a supernatural kinda plot, a good one, go as fast as the light to He's comming to me.
Alexa, how can i forget the 2 half of this movie?

It didn't hurt a lot but it left a message
They were all friends. Shame how the same thing called love, required in friendship, ruined theirs. They were two people, too young and they fell in love. It wasn’t because they were too young to fall in love. It was because they were too clueless. Regardless of your age, 16, 21, or 34, it doesn’t matter you may be too clueless to fall in love. But it wasn’t just cluelessness though, it was their mutuality and their identity. A couple loved each other almost equally, but one of them had sought after something else, something that the other cannot provide. Like, Chen Xun said, Fang Hui was the land, but the bird who can fly just like him and can accompany him was Xiaotang, and to him, it's what Fang Hui did not have. Hui wasn't the person whom he can associate with when achieving his dreams. Chen Xun with Xiaotang is just him wanting to be expressive of his individuality. The point was that he dreamt and loved but sadly Fang Hui cannot be with him to chase after his aspirations.
This film answers a question and concludes with another question. You just can't decide who's at fault. Was it Hui? Was it Chen Xun?
Hui did not know that Chen Xun sacrificed for her (Gaokao), however, Chen Xun cannot keep on sacrificing for her because he also has his own endeavor to go through. Hui cannot go through that endeavor with him. With that said, both of them lack a fragment, so important in a relationship. Things did go their way, and the only way was for them to separate for them to introduce themselves as their pure self. This film is centered on relationships and the identity of a person. I understand that people will say you have to full-on sacrifice for your loved one, but the grit to stick to your identity isn't bad as well. I guess the message this film is trying to convey is that our ties may possibly serve as a medium for us to determine our individuality. And that we might not actually understand how the other person feels unless we're in their shoes. One of the fundamental things in life is to know yourself before getting involved in a long-term romantic relationship.
The acting was acceptable although it didn't pierce too hard. The songs, I loved them. Storyline I was a bit doubtful when Qi Qi appeared. Regardless of that, I think they did a fine job giving an essence out of a film.
People fear death, but hou hui 后悔 regret is the scariest
It became a cycle, these young people did not want to regret and so they did these things but ended up regretting them.
The real question is:
When did we become like this?
And the answer is:
When you all started to question who you are as a person.

It was quite a joy to watch Song Kang-ho and Kim Ok-bin's relationship develop from humble priest vampire and opressed housewife to the battle for lust and blood. A seductive game of right and wrong. They blended all the combining themes effortlessly with their chemistry.

Yoo Ah-in tried to kill a Yakuza leader and he survives? I don't buy it. Sorry. The movie is weak in all aspects, like the romance with Jung Yu-Mi who's underused and the gangster parts but when it came to the relationship between him and his mother, it was like a whole different movie. Calling this "uneven" would be generous. The villains are more comedic than dangerous. Wi Gon was sympathetic and just in his actions and Sang Gon was unoriginal in the gang leader role. The charm of the ilm was Yoo Ah In as Kang Chul and Kim Hae Sook as the sick mother. Was this review helpful to you?

Lost love and found love
Such a masterpiece.. the movie is open ended.. did they or did they not. I believe they did. Sandra Ma astonishes me in every show, she is a wonderful actor and I love how her chemistry with each and everyone of her co-stars is mind blowing, she is such an actor. The fated love, the one true love. I cried almost in every frame and I loved the open-endedness of this movie.Beautiful, heart-breaking... such a wonderful feeling of lost love and found love.
The story transcends over 3 decades and 3 cities and 6 people. The open endedness made up for every glitch that could have been made. Such a masterpiece.

Shook to my core, but did very much enjoy it !!
When I first pressed play for this movie, I hadn't noticed the tag that said 'horror'- I just saw LGBT, Youth, and Psychological, so I thought "huh, this will be nice".Now I don't normally get scared when watching horror movies or thrillers, in general, but the scene in the bathroom, about 1 hour and 20 into the movie, where the hands come from behind, I screamed. High pitched. And it was like 2 am, so not exactly ideal. I didn't finish the movie before 4 am, as I was quite too scared to keep going, but I knew I had to, otherwise, I'd probably have a nightmare. I'm not mad about this though. It was great and I haven't been scared like that in quite a long time.
The ending confused me quite a bit, but I think that's the psychological part of it, -to leave you thinking. And at times, I really had no idea what was going on, which only added to the horror part.
I really loved watching this movie, and I had such a rush after, but I probably won't watch it again, as I now know what happens and when the jump scares are.
10/10 in execution!

The cinematography was beautiful. The sounds of the train track and Yumi looking out the window really had me as a viewer imagine the trauma and sadness she relived every time she heard the train tracks. The scene showing the once painted green bicycle getting rusty and dusty years later was very sad but loved how they added the scene. The cherry on top was when her son, later on, chooses a small green bicycle for himself.
Once the credits came on, it left me feeling like I first hand went through that grief, which reflects how well this movie conveyed its message regardless of the lack of dialogue.
The anger, sadness, confusion, and numbness were all conveyed beautifully!

I knew it was a pretty popular manga so I gave it a try because lately I'm into live action adaptations.
The plot is not that easy to follow.
Long story short: an homeless guy who suffers from amnesia gets involved with a medical student who believes that if we make a hole in the middle of our forehead we can see things that other people don't. The main character has to live with this hole in the head for seven days to prove to the medical student that the experiment was a success.
The first half of this movie was brilliant.
Narita Ryo character ( God bless his acting skills) is weird, it catches your eyes from the very first time it steps on the scene.
But, towards the end, the plot get all messy.
There's a huge plot twist but it was all rushed up.
In the end, I might say that you can enjoy this movie just for Narita's character.

Shuna Lijima plays Jun who wants to be an actress and is paying her bills by working as a "hostess" in a seedy bar where her boyfriend works. All she has worked for is destroyed in one night with his betrayal leading her to return to the home she hasn't seen in five years. Home is not a safe haven, but she's hoping to get a share of an inheritance to start a new life. She hooks up with an old childhood friend after she returns to the small town. This would seem to be a natural place to infuse some sort of healing instead the hits keep on coming and spiraling ever downward sometimes inexplicably.
Lijima is the highlight of this film as she gives a powerful performance throughout. The male actors are adequate but not much more.
The cinematography and score are excellent, the fault isn't with the technical movie making. There is no breathing room in this film, no moment of light in the dark and tormented places in this woman's life. None of the characters are particularly likeable, including Jun. Her childhood friend, Yuki, makes a bad decision that seems drastically out of character. There is an awful lot of bad behavior from every character in the movie which can make it difficult to watch. The problem I have is that the focus could be interpreted as being around Jun leads to bad things. I'm more inclined to believe that she finds herself drawn to bad people because of her childhood experiences. This doesn't mean she doesn't make some horrendously bad choices, because she does, without ever looking for an answer that wouldn't lead to disastrous consequences.
Bad Poetry Tokyo may not be a bad film but I didn't find it to be a particularly good one either.

Well. It's a story.
This creaking but light movie tells the story of an aging male singing group, Hello Knights, and their tepid adventure in a country town where they encounter Ai, a young woman who wants to be singer and is interested in joining the group because she thinks there's a chance that her father is in it.Non plays Ai in her first film role after being black-listed by the agency system in Japan after she left her agency following her excellent and much beloved role as Aki in 2013's Amachan. Other than looking gorgeous in 60's styles for the group of enka singers, she's perfectly adequate in a role that is as underwritten as all the rest.
I guess the film was intended to rely on a nostalgia for 60s trot ballads to drive the story, and, indeed, the scenes of petty, internecine conflicts between the band members and Ai's mildly quixotic attempts to join the group are all framed by serviceable performances of songs of that era.
It's mostly harmless, and I did not fall asleep.

Being sad enough and giving heartache still, lefts a smile on your face and also teaches the value of our life. Loved her supportive friends. Kiritani absolutely my favorite character along with Rino. You can see the growth of both these two characters becoming more mature and responsible.
It was indeed an emotional roller coaster but definitely recommend watching unless you can't handle the sadness or heartbreak.

A quiet, beautiful movie
I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie, mainly because I watched it without reading anything about it beforehand. Right away, the peaceful, quiet pace of the movie grabbed me. The vibe reminds me somewhat of the Hayao Miyazaki movie "Only Yesterday." The plot is a bit different but there are a few vague similarities and the tone is similar. This movie is low drama. The problems that the MC, Mitsoumi, faces are simple, internal issues that we can all relate to: feeling aimless, having to face change, figure out your priorities all over again when things don't work out. His friendship and eventual romance with Yamato is heartwarming and feels organic. Although I do love BL dramas and their silly tropes, this isn't that type of film. This reads more like a soothing indie film. While watching I felt calm and somewhat mesmerized. There are some truly beautiful scenery shots of the countryside and the music is quiet and rustic. I highly recommend this movie if you are feeling unsettled or need to calm down. I loved every minute of it.
