Masterpiece
This drama highlight trauma, mental illness, abuse, love, family, politics great combination. The leads def did a great job they chemistry together was everything their stories apart were deep and moving. Bai lu proved again what a great actress she is playing a character dealing with trauma and mental illness and fighting scenes chefs kiss. Cheng lei he has grown as actor i felt his emotions through the screen. Him and bai lu they played a great married couple so well made it seem real. If they do a drama together again im def watching.I did feel bad for the second male lead too him losing family and being locked up and bad influences took him down the wrong path his ending did break my heart. As villian empress im glad she got her karma that she killed alot innocent people but still thought she was great ruler a true narcissist. My only issue didnt see emough lin mu ran in this drama glad his character made it to the end though i def recommend this drama id def plan on rewatching it soon again. Was this review helpful to you?
To Be Continued
The plot was so twisted that it literally left my stomach in knots after the finale. I even gagged once I fully pieced everything together. Having watched countless suspense thrillers that I managed to predict few twists halfway through. But the writer still had the upper hand. I didn't truly grasp how deep and layered the story was until the very last episode. The background music was hats off. It blends so perfectly with every scene. This is exactly the kind of drama I love which does not become predictable halfway through. It keeps you hooked from start to finish. Was this review helpful to you?
A Must Watch!!
This drama was what we all needed.. a break from the usual storylines.. i love how it tackled mental health, resilience, and just the human heart itself.. Bai Lu was perfect for the FL role.. she really pulled this one off.. Cheng Lei is always the right person for these General roles.. i swear this man was a General in his past life.. i love how the writers paced the story it wasnt rushed or lagging.. it flowed. And they gave each character development and closure in the end.. nothing was left undone.. this drama was not romance heavy so dont expect heavy making out.. but their chemistry was wonderful.. their love was so endearing and gets you right in the chest.. I really truly enjoyed this drama. Go give it a watch! Gonna go rewatch it again right now lol 💜Was this review helpful to you?

they STILL need therapy
Hira a student in the photography club and his ‘boyfriend’ Kiyoi an actor try to navigate the beginning of a relationship. What I Like
I love the addition of Anna an actress that’s guiding Kiyoi. I also love that they finally have an adult conversation. The same sweetness carries over in this season.
What I Hate
Kiyoi is still abusive it’s clear that Hira has no self esteem, doesn’t understand and is oblivious. Kiyoi only reassures him and compliments him in a half @ssed way and kicks him.
Nitpick
It’s very short and a little light on plot, it just continues plot points from season 1 because of the unresolved fight they got in.

This Drama Messed With My Head
I honestly didn’t expect Notes from the Last Row to be this unsettling. The drama slowly pulls you in until you start questioning the characters, their intentions, and what is actually happening.Choi Min Sik was amazing as Heo Mun Oh, bringing so much emotional weight to a character full of contradictions. But Choi Hyun Wook as Lee Kang was one of the biggest highlights for me. He plays the character with such control and subtlety — the way he uses his expressions, his silence, and even small reactions makes you constantly wonder what he’s thinking. There’s something captivating about how he can seem calm and innocent in one moment, then completely unpredictable in another.
The dynamic between them is what makes the drama so interesting. Their scenes feel like a constant mental game, with both actors bringing different energies that make the story work.
The ending is what really makes the drama stand out. It’s not a simple “good vs evil” story; it’s about obsession, curiosity, and how people can lose themselves trying to understand someone else.
A very different K-drama experience, and definitely one that stayed on my mind after finishing.

True Love is a construction
I loved this story! I don't even have words to describe how good this drama is! He is intelligent and mature, does not make judgments, he is just a sincere and humorous search for true love.A complicated journey, with many stumbles, nothing like fiction novels, but whose reward is happiness. The drama is not depressing, it treats sadness and pain with strength and determination, it talks about overcoming, self-esteem, starting over and for sure the message is: believe me, there is true love, he is not a prince on a white horse, he is built with affection and dedication, and it is well worth it!

it would have been better with a few plot tweaks
Overall: several writing choices annoyed me. 30 short episodes (vertical series). Aired on GagaOOLalaContent Warnings: stalking, non con picture taking/sharing, manipulation, coercion
What I Liked
- visuals
- initial premise
- sweet moments
- initially a character said he wouldn't do a cliche
Room For Improvement
- cliche evil female character
- the police should have been called
- that a character listened to her
- the twist at the end was disappointing, he must have known how much stress the other guy was under
- the series didn't showcase their height difference like it could have

Masterclass in Low-Budget Brilliance
Why This Tang Dynasty Mystery Gem Deserves Your Time-If you are tired of style-over-substance historical dramas, Tang Dynasty Occult Mysteries is the breath of fresh air you need. Despite operating on a clearly limited budget, this series proves that raw dedication, stellar writing, and pure acting talent will always triumph over expensive CGI and flashy marketing. It is a triumphant example of what a passionate cast and crew can achieve when they pour their hearts into their craft. The Plot: Pure Deduction, Zero Fluff. At the heart of the series is an incredibly engaging narrative driven by genuine intellect. The mysteries are not solved by convenient plot armor or sudden supernatural interventions. Instead, the show delivers a satisfying "hard" mystery experience. Every case relies heavily on sharp deduction, logical reasoning, and meticulous clue-gathering.Crucially, the story remains fiercely disciplined. It resists the common pitfall of letting forced romance derail the plot. The romantic elements are kept to a refreshing minimum. This choice allows the narrative to focus entirely on what it does best: unraveling complex, atmospheric conspiracies that keep you guessing until the very end.
The Cast: Unmatched Chemistry and Stellar Acting. What the production lacks in funding, it more than compensates for with its ensemble cast. The character chemistry across the entire board is phenomenal. There is a palpable sense of camaraderie and shared purpose that makes every scene a joy to watch. Every single actor, from the main leads to the minor supporting roles, delivers an excellent performance. You can feel the hard work and dedication behind every line delivery and subtle expression. The characters feel grounded, deeply layered, and intensely real, which elevates the stakes of every investigation.
The Verdict: Bring on Season 2!
The series concludes with a wide-open ending, perfectly setting the stage for a sophomore run. It leaves the audience deeply satisfied with the journey, yet hungry for more. It is an absolute must-watch for any mystery enthusiast. We can only hope the production team receives the backing they deserve to follow this up with a well-earned Season 2!

A Beautifully Uncomfortable Story
Notes from the Last Row is the kind of drama that makes you question who is really in control. What begins as curiosity slowly turns into something much more complicated, where trust and manipulation become impossible to separate.Choi Min Sik delivers an incredible performance, showing every layer of Heo Mun Oh’s character, while Choi Hyun Wook makes Lee Kang fascinating with his quiet and unpredictable presence.
The best part is how the ending changes the way you see everything that came before. It’s not just about what happened, but about how easily people can become trapped by their own desires and ambitions.
A smart, unsettling, and memorable drama that stays with you.

A Powerful Yet Painful Story of Love and Mental Health
Double Helix was a fascinating and emotionally intense series that follows the relationship between Cheng Yi Chen and Lu Feng. What begins as a rocky friendship gradually blossoms into a heartfelt romance, and the early development of their relationship is one of the show’s strongest aspects. Watching them slowly lower their defenses, learn to trust one another, and genuinely care for each other felt natural and well-written, making it easy to become invested in their journey.Once they finally become a couple, their happiness is short-lived. A photo of them spreads throughout the school, igniting conflict both at school and within their families. I especially appreciated how Lu Feng remained unwavering in his love for Cheng Yi, refusing to let public opinion or societal judgment dictate how he felt. His determination to stand by Cheng Yi, despite the backlash, was one of the most admirable aspects of his character.
Unfortunately, the two are forcibly separated, and years later they finally reunite. Just as it seems they might finally get the future they always dreamed of, new obstacles arise. Overwhelmed by pressure from his mother and brother, Cheng Yi makes the heartbreaking decision to end their relationship. Feeling as though he had always come last to everyone else in Cheng Yi’s life, Lu Feng reaches his breaking point. His unresolved trauma and overwhelming fear of abandonment gradually consume him, leading him down a path of increasingly obsessive and abusive behavior.
The series does an excellent job portraying Lu Feng’s deteriorating mental state. Rather than treating his actions as simple villainy, it explores the emotional wounds and psychological struggles that shaped him. While his behavior is never excused, the progression of his mental health and the reasons behind his actions are presented with care, making him a tragic and deeply flawed character rather than a one-dimensional antagonist.
As painful as the middle portion of the story becomes, it ultimately serves a purpose. Once the truth finally comes to light, both characters are forced to confront their trauma and the damage it has caused. After enduring a few more hardships, Lu Feng finally opens up to Cheng Yi completely, allowing Cheng Yi to provide the support, reassurance, and encouragement he desperately needed.
One aspect of the series that irritated me was how poorly both Cheng Yi’s and Lu Feng’s parents handled every situation. Rather than protecting or supporting their children, they became the source of their emotional pain. Their inability to understand, communicate, or prioritize their children’s well-being played a significant role in the trauma both young men carried into adulthood, making them some of the most frustrating characters in the series.
In the end, Cheng Yi Chen and Lu Feng finally achieve what they had always longed for: the chance to truly be together. Cheng Yi finally chooses their relationship and decides to put them first, while Lu Feng is finally able to experience the unconditional love and acceptance he had been searching for. With that love comes healing, allowing him to begin letting go of his lifelong fear of being abandoned again.
While the show does contains many toxic and uncomfortable moments, particularly throughout the middle/ending of the series, it also emphasizes accountability, healing, and the importance of seeking help. This certainly isn’t a romance that will appeal to everyone, but for viewers willing to engage with its darker themes, it offers a powerful look at trauma, mental illness, codependency, and the long road toward recovery.
Overall, I really enjoyed the series. The cinematography was beautiful, with crisp visuals and thoughtful framing that enhanced many of the emotional moments. The soundtrack was equally impressive, perfectly complementing the story’s emotional highs and devastating lows. Although its subject matter can be difficult to watch at times, Double Helix ultimately delivers a compelling and emotionally resonant story about love, trauma, healing, and choosing one another despite the odds.

Very relatable and heartwarming ❤️
As someone in the same age group as the cast, I find the show very very relatable and heartwarming. As we get older, most of us prefer to spend time alone (or are use to it) but for some, it can get lonely. It gets even harder to make new connections or friends. At first, I thought the cast was a little bit odd but the chemistry grew as the show went on. They were very real and I hope they all stay in touch as friends! Kudos to the cast and the crew. Awesome watch and it was great to see Jang Geun Seok and Ahn Jae Hyun again. So glad that the show will be having season 2 💙Was this review helpful to you?
amazing acting, intense emotions, and a soundtrack you'll keep replaying
I seriously wish EWB had more episodes. I'm not yet ready to watch the last episode of this series. The lead actors absolutely delivered! They have incredible chemistry, making every scene feel natural, emotional, and unforgettable. They brought the romance and angst to life, and the OST was simply god-tier, elevating every moment. What makes it even more impressive is that the lead actresses (Jan and Jingjing) sang the OST themselves. They're both incredibly talented! Highly recommend EWB if you're looking for a heartfelt romance with amazing acting, intense emotions, and a soundtrack you'll keep replaying. I'm already following both actress.. can't wait to see the next project they'll do.Was this review helpful to you?

BITTER SWEET DOUBLE DISASTER
ENDINGI can't believe they did not marry in the last, I thought they are to marry each other, anyways that would be better for me, The Ending was a bit rushed, I think adding another episode would've creat a satisfying ending to every character, like what happened to Cheng Yi Chen's friends at Lu Fengs company , I mean the guy and the girl.
I was not a fan of the love story of Yi Chens brother because all he does was to annoy me and his boyfriend that acts as if he was not gay and was doing the right thing to Yi chens brother and all he ever does is to push Lu Feng so I skipped all their parts so annoying.
STORY
The Story was very cute at first because I liked how Lu Feng bullies Cheng , because he likes him, his facial expression was everything, when the school management found out that Lu Feng and Cheng are lovers, the way Lu feng protected Cheng was everything, that was a dream of everyone, having someone who liked you that they can fight for you, their school days was everything very cute and you, I have seen there how Lu Feng started to be obsessed or possesive to Cheng , and then next the usual company , family conflict, not agreeing with gay love or whatever , I did not focused on that but I was focusing on Lu Fengs Behavior and orientation, I think Lu Feng is not gay gay you know what I mean ? like maybe he just liked Cheng who happens to be a guy too what kind of sexual orientation was that ? please educate me. The Bipolar Disorder is what made this drama interesting for me because I was really looking at how Lu Feng behaved ,,
The Main characters love story was so bitter and sweet at the same time because no matter what they face they can still find their way back to each other, somebody has almost died or even themselves. When Chengs mom asked him to be a normal guy marrying a woman and having a family , that was so heart breaking like Cheng had to sacrifice his happiness for his parents and thats really lovely but self torturing and at the same time while Lu Feng have already given up everything he has just to be with Cheng, Cheng did not chose him but I do not blame him. when Le Feng took Cheng again after many years apart, he even more tortured Cheng physically and emotionally, it was toxic but It was hot also, I understood why Lu Feng became almost crazy because for so many times in his life , either Cheng left him and did not chose him or Cheng was taken away from him.
Thankfully Lu Feng was healed from being almost crazy and Cheng finally admitted he loved Lu Feng and it never have removed from his heart, I thought it was him who provoked Lu Feng to be like that so thats what I am annoyed at him about. I wished they just have married in the end so that finally they would have a beautiful ending,
ACTING
Aydens Acting are like so so great ! he was a gem really ! the beginning of the drama to the end he gave justice to the character everytime ! his facial expressions are everything and the way he cries .. damn ! but his lead was like most of the entire drama, I do not understand his facial expression, and some physicaly gestures are unnecessary, and when Lu Feng locked Cheng and tried to sleep with him , for me it was awkward.
The Kiss was everything but I think it was too many, I liked that and it looked so so real like no awkward from the both actor, and I think for so many times it was not a Kiss , It was eating ! like Lu Feng Eats Chengs mouth most of the time !
MUSIC
I liked the OST but there are some scenes where music was too much , it was so distracting and not matching to the scene
OVERALL
Im gonna be re watching this because of Lu Feng some time , I enjoyed it and I liked it even of this toxicity. it was better than the drama I have watched that are budgeted but totally non sense ,... because the Bipolar thing made it more interesting to me and the way Lu Feng was obsessed and possesive that he was nearly crazy because of that.. made me able to go through this drama .

My eyes got a ton of exercise - rolling them at the ridiculousness of this drama
Liked:-the cola scene
-Jeju
-the FL finally making friends with her long-time adversary.
Disliked:
-The FL in the first few episodes was working my last nerve. I didn't find it funny; I found her irritating and pitiful.
-Typical rich man/poor girl story, done much better elsewhere.
-This may seem random, but her clomping all over Seoul and Jeju in 4-inch heels was just so unbelievable, since during so many scenes she was running. Get this girl a pair of tennis shoes.
-Whenever the ML got mad and was yelling, very over-acted.
-"Oppa" girl - it's hard for me to watch someone that has no self-respect and tries to hold on for the sake of holding on.
-ML's brother - always gets feelings for the woman his brother likes. What happened to him, anyway? Suddenly just disappeared.
-Too much back and forth - "yes, we are going to be together" "oh never mind, we aren't going to be together". This drama would have definitely benefitted from fewer episodes.
-the last two episodes. Did they get a new writer? They were FINALLY together and then the FL decided she "lost something" and moved to Jeju to work, didn't know if she wanted to get married. Isn't it a natural progression when you supposedly love someone so much? He gave her specific instructions - when you come back, if you are wearing the necklace, I'll know you are ready to think about getting married. But did she follow those instructions? No, she sent the jewelry box back to him with a note in it. You know immediately that he isn't going to open the box, why should he? Then his secretary sees the note and mentions it? Oh, and through all this, she's wondering why he isn't calling her! I really hated the FL in the last two episodes. The ending was abrupt and unsatisfying.
-The show is old and it didn't age well.
