Shrimpie, you can now rest in peace
I started tgis expecting a fun Republican era mystery with some Lost Tomb lore and somehow ended up emotionally destroyed by Zhang HaixiaπWatching him go from this smart, sarcastic accountant constantly bickering with haiyan to someone willing to give up everything just so his partner in crime could live was painful enough, but the show somehow made it worse.
He doesn't get a heroic ending,he doesn't get peace,he comes back broken, traumatized, stripped of his own will, turned into a weapon while Haiyan desperately tries to save him as everything crashes down around them, it was just tragedy after tragedy.
And Ding Yuxi absolutely wrecked me throughout the serie especially larest episodes, the emptiness in his eyes, the way you could feel Haixia disappearing piece by piece... I genuinely wasn't prepared for that Shrimpie deserved happiness and instead got endless suffering. I'm sick, devastated, and probably not recovering from this anytime soon ππ
Haiyan trying his best to save him and save tgeir mentor was heartbreaking, he was grieving his only family while they were dying infront of him slowly, his guilt run deep, he killed his shrimpie and left living with this reality.
When it come to overall storytelling, they cut a lot and added some side stories that i didnt care about, we deserved the scenes that were deleted, anyway this was a ride, recommended

An Average and Slow Film Saved Only by the Star-Studded Cast
This movie turned out to be quite a boring and slow experience for my taste. The plot stretches out and fails to maintain a gripping pace, making it hard to stay fully engaged throughout the runtime. If it weren't for the legendary lead actors, it would have been very difficult to finish. The main reason to watch this film is definitely the performances of Lee Byung-hun and Yoo Ah-in. Both are phenomenal actors who bring a lot of gravity and intensity to their roles, carrying the entire project on their shoulders. Their screen presence is undeniable, even when the script itself feels stagnant. That being said, I absolutely have to mention the tragic hairstyle they gave to Lee Byung-hun. It was so distracting and honestly terrible to look at, which took away from some of his scenes.Production-wise, it feels well-made, but the execution of the story simply lacks the energy needed to make it memorable. It is a decent one-time watch if you are a massive fan of the main actors, but otherwise, the slow buildup might leave you disappointed. Was this review helpful to you?

A Good One-time Watch
The Synopsis of FrustrationThe Last Immortal (Shen Yin) had all the ingredients to be a modern Xianxia masterpiece. It features a powerhouse cast led by actors who possess distinct, brilliant niches, and it is backed by the rich lore of the Ancient Love Poetry universe. But it doesn't just stumble in its final arcβit completely defies the established logic of its own parent universe.
In trying to force a visual tragedy, the writers completely nerfed the divinity of its characters. It trades high-stakes mythic fantasy for a rushed, illogical, and emotionally exhausting soap opera. Instead of giving us powerful, decisive deities who command the screen, the script turns a True God into a helpless, self-centred, love struck, weeping wimp, reducing a mythic fantasy into a cheap soap opera that insults the intelligence of its characters and its viewers.
1. The Breakdown of True God Logic
The script completely shatters the operational rules established by Ancient Love Poetry.
Irresponsible Divinity: A True God, once omnipotent, would never destabilize the world order and universal law by resurrecting an entire dead sect in their original bodies using 90% of his Chaos powerβand spending the rest on saving his love, thereby severely endangering his own physical and spiritual bodyβespecially with the threat of an impending Devil War looming. It makes his cosmic power look utterly reckless and self-centred.
Blindness to Cosmic Energy: As a supreme being, if he did try to inject his divine power into someone or something, he would naturally know if that power completely disappeared or if it was actively being circulated somewhere in the realms. The fact that he remains entirely clueless about his own life force violates standard cultivation logic.
The Soul-Saving Double Standard: If a regular Emperor like Aoge can effortlessly house his brotherβs shattered soul, there is zero logical reason why Feng Yinβthe supreme Phoenix carrying True God essenceβis written as completely helpless to save Gu Jin.
The Sobbing Sacrifice: Instead of going out with a heroic, reassuring smile, Gu Jin spends his final moments sobbing like a baby. It turns an act of cosmic salvation into an exhausting, pathetic defeat.
2. The Emperorβs Seal Battle: A Chiung Yao Melodrama Fiasco (π€¦π»ββοΈπ )
The final confrontation completely lacks tactical fantasy majesty, playing out like an old-school Chiung Yao melodrama (think Romance in the Rain yelling matches) rather than high-stakes Xianxia:
The Gossip Circle: Instead of an earth-shattering reveal, the high deities literally stand around in a quiet circle, loudly trading emotional back-and-forth dialogue while dramatic background music swells.
Glaring Plot Holes: When the Demon Gathering Banner exposes Hua Mo as a murderer, everyone stays bizarrely silent about him killing the Immortal King, Lan Feng, too. Furthermore, the bodies of the Immortal King and Demon King are never given proper burials; their forms are treated like forgotten stage props while everyone speaks in a rushed, fast-forward edit.
The Out-of-Character Repentance: To make matters worse, the show forces the main female vamp into a sudden, unearned change of heart right at the end. After episodes of calculating, cold-blooded selfishness, her sudden shift into a weeping penitent completely defies her established true nature, making her character arc feel entirely unconvincing.
The Missing Epic Scale: The power scaling here is utterly laughable. We are expected to believe that the Devil is so overwhelmingly strong that a True God (even with diminishing power), the Ghost Lord, a Demi God Phoenix Queen, a near-Demigod Demon King, and a powerful Eagle Queen combined are completely unable to control him? Really? Where were the other Devils? Why couldnβt they show a grand, sweeping war with actual armies involved like in Ancient Love Poetry, Immortal Samsara, or Love and Redemption? Confining a cosmic crisis to a tiny, low-budget studio floor completely breaks the genreβs immersion.
3. The Saving Grace: Watch it for Hong YiDespite the writing mess, the show is worth watching for Hong Yi (Li Yunrui). While the main lead remains trapped in a weeping martyr loop, Hong Yi emerges as a genuinely strong, protective, and deeply responsible character. He grows significantly throughout the journey, showing true maturity and an unyielding sense of duty. His performance and character arc provide a refreshing contrast, anchoring the emotional weight of the secondary plotline when the main divine order falls apart.
Final Verdict
By prioritizing a mindless "delayed reveal," uncharacteristic character redemptions, and endless, passive misery over consistent universe logic, The Last Immortal reduced its supreme beings into weak, incompetent characters who can't put two and two together. Watch it for the attractive cast, but be prepared to rewrite the final two episodes in your head to save your sanity

So funny!
I found this funny. I accidentally laughed my way through this show. This is the 2nd time I have watched it, and I forgot how funny it was.The actors were very good; you were able to feel their characters. You knew who they were, and how they fit the roles that were given to them. The second leads were engaging and likeable. It means that it was written well and directed well.
I understand there was a deeper meaning within this show and some might find it hard to empathize with a pretty FL who is supposed to be 'not good looking' but I think the shows message gets through ... attractiveness is a feeling, action, mindset, while being good looking is a very visual thing and not necessarily 'attractive'.
I really felt for the ML and the mental torture he was put through; they did make light of that, but the story was about being attracted to the FL, the way she was and the fact that he fell in love with HER. I think it also showed the MLs true character. He was intelligent and he had the ability to rationalize so he was able to overcome and realize his feelings were for the FL all a long and not the packages that he saw ... so his ability to see loss for gain fits this character .... If that makes sense.
The coloring was a little bland and the chemistry was a little flat.
I also do not like the 'getting married and lives happily ever after' ending that most shows force on us. Audiences are not stupid; we have the ability to end a story ourselves using our brains.
There is no explanation about the main plot point and leaves us hanging, some might not like that but for me it was OK. It did not make or break this show
All in all, I like this show, it's fun, and it also has Tan Jian Ci, which is an added bonus ;)
On a side note ....
Who has a dart board right next to a glass door ...
As someone who has OCD ... OMG @the school library/archives :O

I am so excited. Pooh's hair is gorgeous. I just want to brush it. The Instagram posts are so adorable. Confusion (WOULD NOT RECCOMEND WATCHING)
What even was this. I could smell the sunscreen from the screen. Why were they speaking spanish? I looked for this for such a long time just to find out this was what it was. My guess is this whole thing was for an add. If you want to make a special episode at least make an actual special episode. When I saw this I expected to see an actual good plot and cuteness, this was low-key disappointing. Was this supposed to be for a Spanish ad? The cringy romantic music at the end. This was generally horribleWas this review helpful to you?
Good Performances But Dragged Down By Boring Pacing
The concept of a high school soccer club slowly turning into a delinquent gang is interesting on paper, but the execution suffers from heavy pacing issues. The movie becomes quite boring in the middle, as the plot stalls and doesn't offer much progression. While there are some intense and gritty action scenes later on, the road to get there feels like a chore due to the slow buildup. The acting is easily the best part of the film. The young cast did a solid job depicting the desperation and raw emotions of troubled youth in the mid-2000s. They managed to keep me somewhat engaged even when the script itself was lagging and felt repetitive.Production-wise, the film successfully captures a gritty, unglamorous school atmosphere from that era. The action choreography is messy and realistic, which works well for this type of story. However, the soundtrack is forgettable and does nothing to elevate the slower, more tedious scenes that drag the movie down.Because a large portion of the film felt draggy and slow, I have zero desire to watch it again. One time is definitely enough to experience this story. Overall, Gangster High isn't a terrible movie, but itβs an average one that requires a lot of patience. If you don't mind slow-burning plots that take a long time to get moving, you might find it okay. Otherwise, it's safe to skip. Was this review helpful to you?
Kumusta Variety Show: A Fun Journey of Food, Culture, and Teamwork
I really enjoyed watching Kumusta Variety Show. I love how the show was able to combine food, culture, friendship, and teamwork. Seeing the casts work together was one of the reasons why the show was enjoyable. Each of them brought their own personality and made the journey more interesting.I especially liked how the show highlighted Filipino food and how they shared our culture with Korean viewers. It was also nice to see the struggles, funny moments, and teamwork behind running a restaurant. The bond between the cast members made the show feel warm and genuine.
However, I also had a small personal issue while watching the show. Although I appreciate Arci MuΓ±oz and her effort in the program, there were moments when her way of speaking did not really match my preference. Her baby-talking style sometimes felt distracting and a little uncomfortable for me to watch because it came across as forced. Of course, this is only my personal opinion, and I still recognize her contribution and energy to the show.
Despite that, Kumusta Variety Show was still a fun and meaningful show to watch. The overall concept, the cast, and the message of sharing Filipino culture made it a memorable experience. I enjoyed the journey and appreciated the effort everyone gave to make the show successful.

OMG, why is this crap produced and this crap liked?
First, there was no magic to this show whatsoever. It was so over the top that, it was cringeΒ² ... to begin a relationship with lies is never a good start. That the other partner knew it was a lie and did nothing to not let it spiral out of control was the cherry on top. Thai writers have neither imagination nor a glimpse of real life. The magic stones confused me in the beginning, why is there glowing and so on, when they don't do anything with it? Why do they use stones at all? Did they have any relevance in this series? Why are Ritt's phrophecies accurate when he has no clue at all... Questions the writers never asked. To make Ritt a more or less alcoholic by his friend is also nothing what I would decribe as "fine". It's irresponsible in my book.
Edit: I guess I have to rant a bit more... The mother of the soon to be idol: Typical mom, projecting and forcing her son to be what she never could and then a 180Β° turn, yes, I understand you - WTF? There was no development, no struggle for herselves, she just turned and everything was fine. I call Bullshit, when I see it.
I could rant a lot about this show, but I have better things to do. It was part of the crap thai BL april/may line-up which could never have been produced and nobody with a working brain would miss them. And yes, the haters are going to tell me, that I assume that everyone liking it, has no working brain - and yes, that's true. If you like it, then there is something wrong with you π€£ But that is only my opinion, not a fact.
Besides some pretty framed pictures this show has nothing to go for it, also visual the two couples are quite similar especially with the tall guys. There is of course some f*cking because the fans expect this, but the whole thing was just stupid. If you are limited in time, don't bother with this show and if you have time, find something else to watch, maybe a series which has nothing to do with BL at all...

Nice love story not complicated but good twists.
It was nice story with kind of twist that neither of leads were looking for anything but found something they both had been missing. At first they make you kinda hate the lead girl because they make her seem like a horrible money grubbing business girl trying to compete in a very male dominated world but then you find out she is very likable and you kind doubt the lead guy because he seems so cocky and not kind to others but find he has a very complicated backstory. Was this review helpful to you?

A way to waste time on something irritating
This mess finally ended π and honestly, i still don't know why I stuck around,it was boring, overcrowded with characters, and packed with storylines that went nowhere.Rit spent half the series deceiving everyone, then the other half crying because he got deceived himself... the irony, and Itt somehow managed to be just as irritating.,after ritt giving that whole speech about fortune telling, he exposed himand really reduced an entire thesis to a love confession? Be serious.
Pure and Pitcha were cute, I guess, but even they couldn't save how dull everything felt. Overall, just lazy writing, weak character work, and a plot that kept going in circles. If you're looking to waste your time, this is definitely an option.

dont understand the rating
I genuinely don't understand the low ratings this show is receiving on here. The Divorce Insurance is a perfect 10/10 for me, serving as a highly enjoyable, grounded, and mature slow-burn rom-com. It feels like a lot of viewers are unfairly judging the drama based on their own personal expectations rather than appreciating its upfront, honest, and realistic storytelling. its not different in anyway but it doesnt need to be its perfect the way it is.Was this review helpful to you?

Did we ask for too much?
From episode 1 to middle of episode 10, this drama is absolutely perfection. I loved a strong heroine which is kind of new of kdrama, at least less shown. I loved how KDS is full of life and determination. I admired her tenacity. On the other hand, CSG is just a perfection version of Male lead written by females. He is supposed to be ruthless but soon we saw how he became a looser for KD. KDS is baddiest of all baddies and CSG is the most looser MLs of all MLs. Lim Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Jun have the best chemistry as bickering couples. I really enjoyed all of their scenes. My other favourite characters are Yoon Jihyo, Baek Gwang Nam and Mo Tae Hee.Now the spoilers section:
Things I love:
1. Obviously the chemistry between the leads. Even their BTS can be watched for multiple times. The drama is very generous about the screentime the lead characters got. I can list at least 100 scenes. Their dialogues are also silly and goofy.
2. Female characters. I loved the character development of two SFLs, Yoon Jihyo and Mo Tae hee. Both characters irritated me a lot but both are also endearing. Even with minimal screentime, their characters still shone. Also the actresses did great job.
Things I dislike:
1.From middle of episode 10 to middle of 14. The dram just lost its charm. The scene between FL and ML just felt like fillers.
2. The restaurent subplot. The grandma is so old that she can't run the restaurent at all. So why not sell it or let others take care of it? I loved the grandma from the beginning but soon her scenes just became skip worthy or I felt bored. Also they could've reduce the screentime for this character.
3. The villains. CMD is just the dumbest villain in kdrama history I guess. He is just desperate. Like every single bad thing is done by him but still it takes 14 episodes to arrest him. The police are also dumb like him. Also CSG's family is also full of dumb characters. CSG's grandpa knows CMD's true colors but what does he do to save CSG? Nothing. Just agitates CMD to make him go crazier. Also the aunts are there for absolutely nothing. Even if there are removed from the drama, nothing is changed.
4. THE BODY SWAP/REINCARNATION STORYLINE:
Well, CSG is a reincarnation of Yi Hyeon so why not make SSR also reincarnation of KDS. In episode 13, it is revealed that KDS IS NOT KDS, She is actually the OG SSR whose soul got swaped with KDS when they were 12 years old. SSR was a great actress and after the swap she lost her acting ability. Also she is the OG Granddaughter that grandma needs. Like seriously !!! OG KDS or Fake SSR lived in 21st century from 12 years old which means she spent 18 years with grandma. She struggled in both Joseon and 21st century, still tried her level best. Now OG SSR gets to bid grandma farewell but what about the granddaughter who spent even a longer time? Also I kinda belive writers didn't make it simple reincarnation story as they didn't want to leave Yi Hyeon alone in the joseon era. But he loved OG SSR/KDS. Also KDS got might be just 2 minutes in the entire drama. She was mostly forgotten by the writers. KDS just seemed like a forgotten character or audience need to imagine on their own. Personally I think KDS and SSR were reincarnation of each other which is explained from the similar way of like. KDS was sold as a slave. SSR was almost killed by her parents. Both are very determined. Both loved grandma dearly. Both of them tried their best to cope with all the difficulties. In last episode Yi Hyeon and KDS are on a run. Poor girl never had her life easy. Eventually Yi Hyeon and KDS may fall in love. At least we know that CSG's preference. But KDS deserved more screentime.

never been so heartbroken before
nobody knows just how i ended up bawling at those last 15 minutes.when you think that this story is loosely based on true events, you don't think so deeply on what's to come further - you just patiently sit, wait and watch.
the story is completely devastating, entirely heartbreaking but the sad reality of so many young, vulnerable children who are forced to grow up and mature in so many ways that you'd hope would never be the case.
watching the scene overlooking the airport nearing the ending, it just makes you realise that these children have not had the time to understand the true gravity of what it means to lose someone, physically and spiritually. their reaction made so much sense yet it pained me so much - i, knowing what loss is, having felt loss and understanding what it means but them - not truly having the ability to grasp what it means therefore not crying was just heartbreaking.
i would also like to point out how the film started with a close-up shot of akira's hands on top of the pink suitcase and nearing the end, we got another close-up shot of akira's hands, however, this time the suitcase was being buried underneath the ground and his small hands were dirty and trembling. those two parallels in themselves had me tearing up once more.
i went into this film not thinking much and i finished this film feeling a different type of sadness. it pains me and it always will to see children having to go through this - they're so vulnerable yet they adapt because they have to.
the child actors were formidable, the emotions they had an ability to evoke from an audience with often, very little dialogue was beautiful and something long-lasting.
i finally found the film that's joining baka's identity in terms of a movie i won't be able to stop thinking about for the next year or so.
(can't believe i chose this one to watch right after the constant gardener.)
"she was so cold. it felt awful."
that last shot with saki, kyoko, akira and shigeru and the empty space in the middle forced more tears to run down. I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE (this review is so long now).
