GMMTV has officially made math sexy 😂 I'm SO glad they're still producing such pure hearted BL- teens love where they support each other in gaining confidence and in fulfilling their dreams. Not just among couple, but among friendship. I love the mathcamp concept where they learnt its not about beating each othher up - but you can have fun, enjoy your friendship and everyone is a winner in their own way. this is a great message to reinforce in youth, esp lot of gmmtv audience belongs to this category.

Sadly Disappointing

I was really looking forward to seeing Seo In Guk in this drama, but I was so disappointed. The entire script felt quite lacking. The premise of the story had great potential but fell short for me. Other than the AI environment of the storyline which I'd rate a 10, this kdrama was painfully uneventful. It seemed as if the writers focused mainly on creating the AI feature with all its realism and features, and then ran out of steam. I couldn't help but notice that the color pink was featured prominently throughout wardrobe choices and set designs, perhaps as a nod to the main actress. While it's my favorite color, I wish that same effort could have gone into improving the script.

I did not feel any chemistry between the main leads, either. Even Seo In Guk's great looks were downplayed with nerdy glasses and frumpy hair, not to mention the lackluster nature of his character. I stuck with it to the end but, by episode 8, I was really struggling. For a Netflix production with a sizable budget and a lot of hype, I felt it overpromised and underdelivered. With that said, there is one great positive to this kdrama: the parade of hot actors who make guest appearances! If anything, stick around for that. Oh, and the hottie on the motorcycle 😁

A masterful cinematic piece of ZQJ, ZLH and TXW

Is it good? It is like damn good,
Is it a masterpiece? gotta say it must be a masterpiece.
How is the cinematography? I can't say. It is FUCKINGLY good
How is the production/directing? Done at the best damn point

This is just a masterpiece, where you can't wait to see more episodes filling your screen. Is it the fight scene fucking good, the directing done exceptionally good, where you gotta search for that director (and I gotta say the director knows this work, doing this fucking damn good). The romance just doesn't dive into I fucking love you, it just slips in like gas into your screen, not fast paced, but got that right pacing you need for now.

Xie Zheng: WHY ARE YOU DAMN HANDSOME? Oh no you scenes get me killed, ain't gonna talk much. ZLH filled the screen with his cinematic gaze through the window, where you can't get enough of his face. That damn gaze at the bad guys, where it just wanna stop my heart (it actually stopped), what more can't he bring to my screen, is it His smiles at the Fang Chan Yu at her funny moments. Love His chopsticks where he just gotta stab your neck (WEAK HERO CLASS).

Fan Chang Yu: Just when we need a physically strong female lead on the screen, I'd go for this drama.
Your butchering scenes are too good, can't take my eyes off your screen
Tian Xi Wei just nailed it with this versatile role of a girly, gentle nature with our male lead, this badass girl with her butcher knife, were i got to say WHO IS THIS? Okay, I just recognized her, a funny character with her sister and family.
Isn't your cuteness and funny moments gonna make me die of laughter
YOUR CUTENESS OVERLOADS ME TO ACTUALLY DIE OF THIS CUTENESS

My special mention goes to HER YOUNGER SISTER, as I fell in love with the character . The script writer just did an amazing job writing this script

this was a very good and funny drama.Focusing more on women , family, friendships and marriage. All from different backgrounds and upbringing they chose themselves first and how to be there for each other. their marriages were clumys different painful but they fought through some found true love some got to learn they don't need to be married to be happy and Haitang what a huge heart she had to accommodate such a husband who brings a woman home and she accepted those women as her sisters not sister wives what a woman. And my Zheng and Wei their journey was interesting what a sweet couple. 100000000/10 drama. worth the time

writing this as a kdrama fan which i became way before i dived into kpop and blackpink

if u want to explore lots of genre's at once please give it a go its gonna be so worth it.
as someone who was once a binge watcher of almost every kdrama, but these days it was really hard to find one. first ep do keep me seated but then they dramas felt like they fell off hook. started watching as a jisoo fan but trust me, the whole story is so freaking interesting. the casting was of course one of the main reasons to keep someone seated. and then the colouring. it was really good too it felt so lively. and as i kept watching it felt like something that could actually happen in real life. some of it is already happening, how some women are using AI to feel closer to their favourite fictional characters. who knows when the use of VR might start as well. watched the first 2 ep at first then binge watched the rest of it. gotta say the story was superb and jisoo's acting has improved a lot. it felt like the character came to real life. and watching her experience dating her VR bf's it makes u wanna say ""wait we want more of their story"". as for me it happened with her 2nd date. please cast them together in a series with the exact same theme T-T. anyway if i try to say anything i might end up giving spoilers which i dont wanna do, i kept myself away from watching spoiler videos or edits and it was a really good decision.

So...

... I guess I expected a little more from it? I can't say that I was disappointed by it or that I was bored by it, otherwise I wouldn't have given it four stars, but it wasn't anything to sit on my ass about for me. Maybe it's because I was practically just disoriented at the beginning and I didn't really understand what the individual characters were trying to tell me and what it was actually about. The third episode was better, I can honestly say that I enjoyed it because I felt like I finally started to understand Sarah. For me, it was a necessary backstory to be able to understand why she does what she does. The positive thing is that I can't say that the series was predictable. The cast is also very good, there really wasn't anyone I didn't trust in the role. I really like Shin Hye-seon, I also watched it because of her, and I liked her in the role of Sarah. It was something different from her, I've never seen her in a role like that before. And I thought she did a good job. It only has eight episodes, which is not much for k-dramas, but I think it could have been even shorter, maybe six? I think that would have been more ideal and the plot would have been even more compelling. But I'm very satisfied with the last two episodes, they were good for me, everything was explained and the individual characters mostly got what they wanted all along.

Is this the future - pretty, coy, well-behaved and insecure female leads?

How the times have changed! In "Absolute Boyfriend" (2008) the female lead tested one option of a custom-made artificial partner as alternative to real life dating - under financial duress and with a sense of shame. Now the female lead still feels shame to partner up virtually - and does so without telling even her closest friend - but has to test a lot virtual partners (900 are available) and one custom-made partner to feel strong enough to date in reality.

There are the two things in the drama's scenario that seem really problematic to me:

1. I have problems with the way the drama constructing female relationship fantasies as virtual hands-on- and power-fantasies: Would you not consider it unethical when there were 900 life-like virtual female slaves catering to every need of their male customers? I didn't like this concept at all. It's degrading to all parties involved. The female protagonists don't really like that concept either - otherwise why would they be ashamed to use an app?

2. To construct romantic relationships as one-sided dominant-subservient relationships means that the producers never meant to portrait AI-relationships to be a real alternative for their female protagonists, be there postcards and telefon messages in real life or not. No, every girl will find her male partner in real life if she wills it to be - but only if she's pretty, well-behaved and well-dressed (extremely important, it seems, considering the amount of screen time for the female lead trying on dresses). For that end the producers include the one older single female who is the Nr. 1 manga writer. She is shown as single, demanding, not well-behaved and not pretty - and ridiculed every time she has screentime. But: The manga writer is working hard, she has a lot of stress staying on top - and she's considering her AI-Partner much more her equal than the younger girls and stays loyal to him. Relationships are not about clothes and shapely legs alone, drama writers!

Though in my opinion the acting in "Boyfriend on demand" is really good and carries a rather bad story I'd rather have less perfect pictures and blingbling and more of the depth of older Korean dramas like " Dalja's spring" (달자의 봄) of 2007.

As an aspiring writer it's easy for me to follow the plot. There are story line who I found myself drifting away and there are some I found it deep. And I agree with the chemistry thing because for me the longer the time in every episode the more they build the chemistry of every character. In this case it's shorter, If it wasn't for their TikTok together I wouldn't buy for ther pairings.
And I noticed in almost every japanese series I watched their NC's seems like conservative, they just like peck their lips together no more no less. That's why I'm all for American and French kissing scene.

Love Story in the 1975 was one of those dramas that quietly surprised me. I didn’t expect much when I started watching it , but the story ended up being deeply moving and full of emotional depth. It’s the kind of drama where the supporting plots also play so well in the main plot. The story just naturally falls into place.

One of the reasons it worked so well for me was the male lead. I’ve watched him before in Lighter and Princess and When Destiny Brings the Demon, and once again he completely captured the essence of his character. He has a way of expressing emotion that feels very natural — Watching him bring the character to life specially the parts where he plays the mentally impaired part made the story even more believable and emotionally engaging.

The female lead was equally impressive. Her delivery of emotions felt sincere and genuine, and she brought a quiet strength and warmth to her role. Together, the leads created a connection that felt authentic and heartfelt, which made the romance easy to believe.
Loved the slow-burn romance. I’ve always loved stories where feelings grow gradually rather than being rushed, and this drama handled that beautifully. The relationship develops through shared experiences, patience, and emotional understanding, which makes every moment between them feel meaningful.

The plot itself carries a lot of emotional weight, but it’s told in a way that feels thoughtful and sincere rather than overwhelming. It’s refreshing to see a male lead character so enthusiastic and green flags.

A Few Sensual Scenes and Nothing More: A Disconnected Drama in Search of a Story

Shallow and nonsensical, the story is full of plot holes and provides little background for the characters. It feels like a plot meant for a longer series that was cut short, leaving disconnected scenes that fail to form a cohesive narrative. While the female lead is lovely and the scenes are colourful, there is no substance, and the early episodes rely mostly on sensuality for entertainment. The first part of the drama centers on a full-moon ritual, tastefully filmed, not explicit or nude, but it often feels like that is all the drama has to offer; without these scenes, there is really nothing else to see. From episode 15 onward, the drama abandons its sensual allure for past conflicts that feel hollow, rushed, and embarrassing.

Jiejie romance with FL cheating on her husband with ML

This drama captured my attention when it was a fresh release but somehow I only felt like watching it in February 2026. I watched it on iQIYI. This is a jiejie romance drama which is memorable because of Wang Yu Han & the kisses.

What I liked:
1. Romance - Damn, the kissing was scorching hot. Perhaps also because their relationship was forbidden with her being married to another person.
2. ML character - Horny & eager puppy. I liked hos protectiveness.
3. Styling - I loved clothes worn by ML. FL also wore nice outfits.
4. Saviour - I liked this arc with SML stealing credit. Often times saviour arc is SFL stealing credit.
5. Acting - I liked Wang Yu Han's acting in this drama. There was amazing chemistry between him and Vicky Liang.

What I disliked:
1. Antagonists - A few characters that I disliked: SML, his mistress, ML's pursuer, ML's grandmother.
2. Cheating - Not a fan of dramas with main character cheating on their spouse even though spouse was baddie too.
3. Duration - Close to 2.5 hours. Some scenes were draggy for example the auction scene.

Exciting until the very end and an emotional rollercoaster ride

I don't know why this drama was rated so low.
You have to understand the following. It is a drama from the Chinese Republican era. That means women were not relevant and were not supposed to have an opinion. So why people are upset about violence against women here is beyond me.
From today's perspective, it is of course outrageous, but at that time it was simply the norm.
Alternatively, the woman should not forgive or give in, even though she was raised in this era and taught that a woman should first obey her parents without question and then her husband.
The fact that she manages to stand up for herself and stand her ground in this drama is amazing enough.
In general, I can say that the drama was really good. The actors were extremely good, and the emotional difficulties were portrayed brilliantly. Whether it was the main ML and FL, who love each other despite the nasty things they do to each other. Especially towards the end, when the female lead does many things that break the male lead and make him realise what he has done to her. Simply captivating.
But also the disguised BL, with the great actor from ‘Revenged Love’ Zhan Xuan, was great to watch.
With the hidden feelings that never quite broke out. Greatly conveyed. I found the ending for the two of them a bit of a shame, but I accept the director's decision.
So I think it's a complete success. It had no longueurs and secrets were kept until the end, which kept the tension going.
I can recommend it, but it's not light viewing.

Low rating for the script/concept!

This drama is only 10 episodes but at times it felt as if each episode was 3hours long which is a terrible thing for a show.

For me all its issues start and end on the script and the way they handled the AI-boyfriends concept. Because even though AI relationships are something that will probably be really popular in the next couple of years, it will never stop representing a dystopian situation of humans giving up on real human relationships just to engage with the imaginary-easier interaction that AI can offer.

I kept watching the drama bc I was curious to see how they were going to conclude the AI dating app situation but as I had guessed they glossed over all ethical questions one might have about this concept and never really touched on what it respresents or could mean. Let me ask you guys just this one thing: would you like a drama where the MALE lead and all other male characters in that show dated AI girlfriends? I mean men will do that in the future, it's only that they wouldn't show it on a kdrama bc then it would have to be a serious drama where it actually has to delve into the implications the way Black Mirror has done in one of its seasons.

As for the script they literally wrote underdeveloped characters where you were left wondering "why are they like that? why would they act like that?"

In a few words the script was TERRIBLE.

The first 6 episodes were the least entertaining part of the drama for me and the most annoying part of Jisoo's acting. Bc it leaned heavy on the whole AI boyfriends thing with the many famous actors' guest starring that made me feel nothing but boredom and annoyance.

Thankfully Seo Inguk's actual character (not the AI one) "saved" part of the show in the 2nd half by delivering good acting and nice chemistry with some cute moments with Jisoo. Honestly those moments were where Jisoo shined the most. She's far from a good actor yet, but i dont want to be harsh as of right now, bc I still think if she works harder she can grow and become better. Of course she might not do that considering how the k-industry are just willing to hire her only bc of her general popularity bc she can make money for them.

Overall it was a drama with meh OSTs, so and so acting and notingburger directing, BUT the biggest issue was the damn script. I'm so over Korea's lack of effort when it comes to scripts. These last couple of years I've yet to see a kdrama where the scipt was even a 6/10, it's like they've dumbed down everything bc they think most viewers are dumber now i guess, so they dont need to put any kind of effort in making and greenlighting good, intelligent stories and characters.

After finishing the series, I realized all Ohm and Leng needed was our full support, and we failed them. They have such undeniable talent and natural chemistry; they deserved so much more recognition while this was airing.
From the first episode to the last, I was completely hooked. The production was incredibly well done, and the entire cast gave it their all—especially Khun Yada! She was absolutely gorgeous and nailed her character to perfection. 👏✨

It’s a perfect 9/10 for me. 🌟 I’m genuinely heartbroken that they are no longer a partnership, but I hope they know how much this work truly matters.
