Love in the Laundromat

Don't be swayed by the rating I gave. This was for the technical aspects and script limitations. The contrived kiss at the end. BUT it did leave me smiling and in a better mood. Light, different meeting spot - bonus and for two actors that didn't visually have much chemistry, it was okay enough to watch.

Illogical plot and scriptwriter loves bad guys.

I watching this drama because of Song Yujia compared to her previous drama, this drama was quite letdown in term of plot. I don't mind with soul swapping theme but the problem of this drama lies with the character logic. The chemistry between Xong Yujia and Ling Xuan was really good but the plot and character hold the problem.

ML character has major plot holes. He's clearly had a long-standing crush on the FL, yet he treats her coldly after marriage. He was initially moved by her kindness, but he easily believes the slanderous accusations leveled against her by his wicked mother-in-law and others. How the scriptwriter comes with idea ML betrays FL father to protect FL family?

FL also has questionable part. Before marriage, she had absolutely no feelings for the ML. It was an arranged marriage, and she suffered for several years. How could she possibly fall in love with him in the end? There is no backstory about FL was infuriated with ML and suddenly she in love with ML.

Female villain caused so much trouble, only to be kicked out of the mansion in the end? And FL even had to give her money out of blue? FL mother-in-law didn't get any punishment either. This screenwriter really loves villains! The plot is also full of holes. FLs father is just a minister, not a prince, not a general, not even a prime minister. Why emperor want to kill FL father? I guess the screenwriter couldn't come up with a plausible reason.

Only watchable for hardcore fans.

Love how they bring misogyny with cooking drama

I am missing watching J-Drama and the first thing i checked Was Kaho is going to be the Female Lead with Takeuchi Ryoma. As expected, the scriptwriter was neat and genius how they portrayed the misogyny society from Cooking drama. The last drama i watched is Mondai Ga Aru Restaurant but this is much better than that drama since it contains Higashide (he cannot act, sorry)

It was too realistic from every POV while the add the, and that's where Takeuchi Ryoma and Kaho truly excels. Kaho is one of rare Japanese actress that using feeling method to her acting (some of Japanese actress used method acting) and their chemisty was too amazing. The couple explore their inner problem with cooking method and the dialogue was witty.

It was light yet thoughtful drama

It’s just OK..

This movie was just OK. I enjoyed the beginning, the dialogue and interest between the MC’s seemed earnest. But halfway through we lose the plot completely. We get absolutely zero backstory on the main characters besides a couple lines that leave us even more curious. There were so many backstories they could’ve explored but didn’t, so the characters were left shallow and one dimensional. Honestly idk what to say, I didn’t enjoy this movie. Also that bit at the end where they’re dressed as Native Americans riding off into the sunset was weird to me, I get the point they were trying to make, but I didn’t like that scene. Anyway, on a positive note, the cinematography was beautiful and the acting was good. But plot was just all over the place, and the pacing was bad.

So heartwrenching & beautiful

I've never written a review before, but I just can't help but praise this amazing drama because everything about it was just perfect for me. It rarely happens that a drama is able to hook me from the first episode, but this was definitely the case and somehow it kept getting better. It was such a rollercoaster of emotions, I cried, laughed, suffered and swooned almost every episode. The main couple touched my heart, they genuinely have one of the most beautiful love stories I've ever watched. If you're unsure about picking this drama up, just go for it!

Comical genius

When a friend of mine showed me this drama and told me it was one of the best she's seen, I had major doubts but decided it was worth a shot.

I did not know what I was in for. I expected it to be some half-assed, low-budget short drama with most of the worst clichés dramaworld has to offer us but BOY WAS I WRONG!!!

I laughed so hard I almost coughed up my lungs while watching the first episode. The insanity of it all made the illogical become logical and everything happened on such a fast-paced setting it had me turned upside down and giggling underneath my desk.
Everything I thought this drama would be went right out the door. There hasn't been an episode where I didn't cry from laughter or couldn't catch my breath because of it.

Let me remind you now that this drama is not listed as a comical drama. It's not even trying to be funny but it's hilarious. Most of it seems like the writers were on drugs while coming up with certain plotlines. We went from a high-scale chase with futuristic elements to a forests with a mystical fog that lets our main characters visit each other's dreamworlds, to a wild-west with cowboys. We went from a weird octopus creature to a freaking DRAGON that supposedly hidden within a busy city.
None of it actually made sense but it worked perfectly into the humor of it all.

The drama tells the story of a world far away where the Affinity Virus wreaks havoc on the humans. If you're affected by the A virus, you'll have to find a partner with the B virus in order to survive. Someone with a B virus infection can be emotionless and psychotic and can go beserker mode unless they find someone with the A virus who is able to calm them down. As long as they have each other, they can live as if non-infected.
Our female lead, Nongyu, is infected with the A virus (a so-called Yin) and stands witness to the arrest of a murderer who is infected by the B virus (a so-called Ren) and went psycho on his parents, killing them in the process. Years later she comes face-to-face with him again and finds out he's been waiting for her. He wants her to become his partner and will stop at nothing to make sure that happens.

Do I recommend this drama? Hell yes! It was such fun to watch and it did bring out some notes of seriousness amongst the insanity of its plotlines. It's low budget but still very well made. The actors tried their best with the script and brought out some of the best acting eventhough most of it made me cry from laughter. It is, like my friend said, one of the best I've seen (if you consider it a comical drama and don't take it too seriously).

Potential but Underwhelming

POTENTIAL but Kinda underwhelming. I like the plot do wish it was executed better. The story of the famous Geon U mistakes Jae Yeon as a stalker and then they gets closer and Geon U’s walls break down as he gets closer to Jae Yeon. The concept was good but the follow through was subpar. The short and few episodes, made it very rushed. It was very fast paced which made it hard to see proper character development & story development. Needs more build up to the romantic feelings, Needs to unpack all the plot everything gets resolved too quickly and barely resolved at all. I did still enjoy watching it but do think there is a lot of room of improvement. The Actors even tho very new and unrefined definitely have immense potential in my opinion. Overall I did enjoyed it even tho I was critical.

I don’t really write reviews so hope this was helpful 🥰💖

You have to watch at least seven episodes before you even think about judging it, okay? Trust me, once you get there, you’ll be hooked and suddenly rewatching your favorite scenes again and again like it’s your full-time job. The acting? Insanely good. The soundtrack? On repeat in my head 24/7. And don’t even get me started on the costumes, they’re serving looks every single episode. It’s honestly such a feast for the eyes that you won’t even realize how fast the time flies. Consider yourself warned… you’re about to be obsessed.

Even a good novel isn't enough to cover for a poor director

I wanted to like this because I can tell the novel's author created something good. The substance is there, but the delivery is noticeably lacking.

Scenes just happen one after another, making the show feel disjointed. It's like the director just focused on adapting the storyline without thinking about how one scene flows into the other.

It's entirely possible to watch this for the story and ignore the flaws. But with all the other better dramas currently airing, it's hard to convince myself to spend time on this.

Mostly I'm just disappointed by the director & scriptwriter. It feels lazy to rely on a story to carry the show, without investing effort in HOW that story is being delivered to the audience.

Put Mingee on season 6

I really liked the winter getaway more than the rest of the reunion to be honest, and I loved that the getaway was mainly just Heesun and Subeen. They have such incredible chemistry, and I was so happy to see more of them. I will say it did end very abruptly, like there was supposed to be more and there just isn't. I do wish we got to see a bit more from the people who left together but didn't make it, but I'm glad we got an update of where they were all at during their screenings.

I hope Subeen and Heesun as well as Jaejin and Jooyoung stay together!! I know they're all still together as I'm writing this!

Put Mingee on season 6, she deserves better!

A beautiful and tragic story

Finally checked out this movie and I am so glad I did!! If I could give this more than 10 stars, I would. This is an incredibly beautifully tragic film. I went into this knowing nothing more than the title and knowing people cried when they watched it and nothing else. I'm really glad I went into it that way, so everything was a surprise to me.

I loved both Jae Won and Seo Yun so much. They were both such likable characters. I love how kindhearted Jae Won was and how fun Seo Yun was. They had the cutest relationship with each other too! I knew something was up with Jae Won as soon as he gave that weird excuse to why he didn't like sports.

They're story is so beautifully tragic, it's the only way I can think to describe it. I sobbed during the last 25 or so minutes. I haven't cried that hard over a piece of media since Mr. Plankton or Life Gives You Tangerines. I had a feeling this story would end sadly but didn't realize just how emotional it would be. This film is perfect and I have absolutely no notes. Huge shout out the actors as well, this was incredible.

Highly Recommended

I am absolutely obsessed with this drama because it delivers the ultimate "girl boss" lead who is truly the brilliant mind of the operation, while the male lead serves as the perfect strength to complement her. Their dynamic is so refreshing—I love their openness and the unshakable trust they share, especially seeing how he is mature enough to finally let go of the past to build a future with her. The acting from the entire cast is top-tier, making every scene feel grounded and impactful, and I honestly can’t get enough of seeing a power couple that actually communicates and respects one another's roles.

THE ENDING WAS NOT IT

the drama started out pretty strongly and it had great acting. but the ending I honestly don't get it. The thriller aspect was really amazing because I couldn't stop watching it. at first, I thought that she was manipulative and everything but she couldn't kill someone but then my perception changed as soon as I watched the next episode. the story was written in a manner where you're not sure of anything which I personally really enjoy. because I love guessing and having theories about what's going to happen. but I just don't get the ending, with the murder and everything. and she said that she was not Sarah kim and everyone was just like okayy huhh??? I think there are definitely some plot holes but I had fun watching it.

Assistant LI Is So Charming(2023) is a very good romance comedy with Zeng Hui (as Shen Xu) and Li Keyi (as Li Xiang Yang) in the leading couple’s role. The cast did a fantastic job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple had great chemistry. The leading couple didn’t have passionate intimate moments which could disappoint many in the romance seekers audience but their moments are really delightful and sensual. If the viewer is looking for a vertical short drama that will leave you smiling at the end, this drama will entertain you! Enjoy it!
In the meantime, this drama can be found in YouTube under the caption:“She disguises herself as a man, yet is asked by a handsome CEO to be his lover!” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zg7CUd6cjaY)

Charming, if not a little flawed.

Okay. I really loved this drama. The wit was next level in the beginning. The banter when they were ‘enemies’ was everything I hoped it would be and more. It was super fun and entertaining. I loved how J and Jinn’s personalities really shined through their interactions with each other. The snide remarks, the facial expressions. They had me rolling those first couple episodes. The entire time I kept thinking ‘there’s no way they can keep up this momentum’ and while that was somewhat true, I love that neither lost their playful banter with each other, even after getting together. Even when lovey-dovey, the wit and humor was still there and I love that as it usually goes away completely with a premise like this.

The relationship J and Jinn had with their moms was beautiful. They were so supportive and wonderful. The moms weren't just there, they were part of the story and I loved seeing that. It was like a breath of fresh air honestly…and when they came out to the parents and the parents were basically like ‘okay, and this is news how? Anyway…” I laughed my ass off. It was just…so them. Very wholesome and amazing to watch. We need more parents like this.

I really loved how the drama mentioned Jinn having a crush on J since they were kids, J’s reaction to it, and Jinn later confronting J about how his reaction affected him. It was very thoughtful and well done. I have to give credit to the actors on this. They knew the assignment and gave it their A game. Okay….they MOSTLY gave it their A game. I can’t remember their kissing scenes from Only Boo! But uh…my dudes…what? You gave your all in every scene but when intimacy rolled in they were like ‘uh, what do we do?’ It was awkward. They looked uncomfortable, to be honest. They sold me on literally everything except desire/passion. You’re seriously telling me you love each other, want each other, but going to kiss like unsure middle schoolers trying it for the first time? Nah, bro. Still, they tried so…I can be nice and ignore that because one issue doesn’t override how great they were overall.

As for the side couple, I felt they had the same kissing problem, but still did it way better. Makes me wonder if it was a director issue more than an acting issue. I’ll be fair, I wasn’t really into the second couple. Van was…a bit of a dick, and I really like how the characters kept calling him out on it. He seriously annoyed me…but he was also very real-coded. People like him are everywhere I get it. I can also admit that I like how he tried to change. Do I think they’d work long term? Probably not, but this is fantasy so why not believe they will?

For the most part, the plot landed, though it did have some tropes that are often overused. Gay for you? J probably is for Jinn. Accidental kiss? Right on the cheek, my guy, but hey no mouths magnetically finding each other, so win? Random illness from nowhere? Who knows? I don’t. The future J saw wasn’t really clear on that. Episode 11 breakup curse? You got it, but hey, it only lasts like five minutes. Good job, drama. You were so close to not doing it at all. A for effort. Bad communication? A bit, yeah…to the point it was frustrating at times, but I also get why they did it. It went on too long and could have been tightened, but hey, it didn’t kill my enjoyment, so no harm done in the long run. Same with Jinn and his dad. More time could have been spent on that, but whatever. It is what it is and I still loved what it delivered. Not every gift needs perfect wrapping.

The only thing I can truly say bothered me in this drama was the editing. Who’s bright idea was it to pivot between couples in what often felt mid-scene? Just when things were getting good they’d change couples. Like, what? Wait, no – go back, they weren’t done yet, wtf?! It was grating. I get why for pacing reasons. They only had so much time, but wow was it jarring. Talk about whiplash. Despite that though, I loved the drama and can’t wait to see more from SeaKeen.
