Has It All

While it wasn't nearly as funny as the vertical short version, this was a much better written story. The characters were complex and endearing. I cried at least once. The end ending was a bit cliche and left me with a few questions but still satisfying. Great cast. Beautiful costumes, cinematography, and soundtrack. Funny, emotional, action packed, romantic—this one has it all.

Hilariously Absurd and Insanely Charming RomCom That Will Give You All the Fuzzy Feels

If you’re on the hunt for a BL romcom that’s both over-the-top and delightfully charming with insane actor facecards, look no further.

‘Me and Thee’ brilliantly combines silliness and heart with a dash of star power courtesy of Pond and Phuwin. Seriously, they are vibes in this drama. Phuwin needs to keep his hair long BTW.

This is a classic *opposites attract* story.

Thee is wealthy and impulsive (fake? mafia heir), diving headfirst into whatever his heart desires, regardless of whether he has a clue about what he’s doing. He is simping so hard. Peach is a photographer and a down-to-earth guy who is patient enough to handle Thee’s fiery personality. Plus he is Thee’s low-key life coach/dating coach/mental health counselor, you name it.

Together, these two create a perfect storm of ridiculousness and tenderness that makes for some major feels.

Most of the jokes here are punctuated by loud background sounds and we have absurd scene cuts that emphasize the hilarity. Yes, it’s intense. And perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea, but I implore you… Just persevere. Otherwise, you will miss a lot of swoony moments that come later on. But that’s—all the bell and whistles—part of the drama’s charm! Plus it’s making fun of itself and dramas in general. As the drama progresses, the characters experience growth and discovery, leaning on each other in the messiest yet most endearing ways.

Let’s talk chemistry. That’s Pond and Phuwin. Need I say more? I think they are synonymous of chemistry. But seriously, they radiate insane tension that doesn’t require constant skinship to keep the audience hooked. In fact, this is a slowburn romance. It’s more about the vibes they give off, and boy, do they bring it! Their interactions are respectful, making it feel like a safe space where love can unfold without boundaries. I actually appreciated that consent was brought into the picture. It’s always good to discuss it. It’s a nice departure from the old school romance dramas. We all know that dubious onscreen consent was a big thing 10 years ago. Just don’t kill the messenger.

While the plot isn’t groundbreaking, the delivery is where the magic lies. The series refuses to take itself too seriously, creating an atmosphere that feels more like a group of friends goofing around rather than a rigid production. You can tell the crew had a blast filming this—which, let’s be honest, makes for better viewing.

The cinematography is great! The colors pop, and the camera work keeps the energy high. Plus the sets are so beautiful.

As for the ending, it leaves you with a sense of satisfaction despite the familiarity of the plot. You might think you’ve seen this story before, and maybe some past dramas have presented it better but honestly, Me and Thee packs a silly romantic punch in its short ten episodes. The way Thee tries to win over Peach, often throwing money around (literally), is both endearing and hilarious as he learns the ropes of being in a relationship.

In summary, if you’re a fan of Pond and Phuwin or looking for something funny and uncomplicated—a breezy watch with cool visuals and great chemistry, you’ll love this. So grab your popcorn and prepare to ride the laughter-fueled wave of Me and Thee! You won't regret it!

P.S. Plus you get to see William seducing Est for at least 4 episodes. And Mr. Thee buying GMMTV to film his love story with Peach.

Started with a Nice Twist on Cold CEO as a Woman But Floundered in Cliches Afterward

Love triangles, misunderstandings galore that lasted too long and often didn't make sense, noble idiocy, freaking six-year skip in another country with no contact, rich CEO forcing a contract marriage, childhood friends turned adult romance, scheming stepmother, controlling father, skeevy adopted brother, evil board members, and childhood traumas. Other than amnesia, I think this drama had most of the tropes covered. The one twist was the CEO was a woman, and her forced partner was a man.

The good: As the powerful CEO, FL's office wear was haute couture and sizzling, especially the black/white ensembles. And those handbags! Nice. Oddly, when she returned home, she'd change into frumpy housewife dresses in ghastly shades of muted corpse.

The bad: It was hard to believe the motivation of the bad guy. It was even harder to believe that after all his planning and scheming that he made peace at the end.

I liked the leads, but I found the love stories of the two other eventual couples (who were involved in multiple love triangles until the very end) were tedious, repetitive, and distracting.

*MAJOR SPOILER to follow*

I'm glad this is fiction, because if someone had stolen the first five years of my baby's life—something I could never get back—I'd find that unforgivable. I'd jettison 99.99% of drama relationships. I find myself mumbling, "I'd never put up with that!"

The time skip was atrocious, but the supernatural ending with dead sister was worse. Why didn't she show up 16 years earlier and save everyone all the trauma and destruction? I enjoy fantasy and supernatural elements if they're introduced early and follow the drama's parameters, but it's a cheap trick to inject them at the end of a long drama.

TL; DR: Started well and with sizzle, meandered in the middle, and fizzled out at the end. The leads were watchable, but the script failed them.

I added an extra half star for FL's styling as the CEO at the beginning of the drama.

Pure emotion

PLOT: In their senior year of high school, two inseparable friends are troubled by university entrance exams and the evolution of their feelings for each other.

+++ The two actors, Billkin and "PP" Krit, are absolutely brilliant, with minimal dialogue but powerful physical acting, posture, micro-expressions, and glances (´ ▽`).。o♡ Everything is charged with emotion! Kudos.
+++ The story is well-written. The hesitations and confusion associated with first love (especially if it's a guy and your best friend :), and the difficulties of finding one's identity, are well portrayed.
+++ Beautifully produced: sets, landscapes, framing, lighting... everything is meticulously crafted.
+++ Pleasant OSTs.

### No villains; all the characters are forgiving and empathetic (more so than in real life).

=> A very beautiful series about discovering your self- identity, carried by fantastic actors.

+++ OSTs agréables.

### Pas de villain, tous les personnages sont indulgents, empathiques (plus que IRL).

Beautiful in every aspect

So it was early 2020, the pandemic had just hit hard and I was confined at home, when due to so much extra time on my hands at home and good advice from a Korean friend, this movie was actually the first Korean thing I ever watched.
At that time I was bored to death by all Western production who had long given up good story telling and exchanged it for crudeness, every absurder sex stunts stuff and political messaging on end. It had been years, many years, since I last saw anything remotely good, let alone something that really touched my heart or managed the rather impossible (compared to others) - and made me cry.

I started watching this movie without any expectations and boy was I in for a surprise.

The main story is set in 1991, with a group of teenagers, and particularly the beautiful love story between Beom-sil and Soo-ok. It's told in retrospective and it's a tragic story of two young innocent people who, due to unfortunate circumstances, in the end, can not be together.
I do not want to spoiler this story, but what I can say is that apart from me being glued to my screen for th full length of the movie, this story hit me hard, and I was, to my own surprise, crying my eyes out for the last half hour of the movie and even after I couldn't stop crying. I think I never experienced that before and - although I have watched many touching K-drama stories meanwhile - also never after that movie.

It is beautifully shot, set on a Korean island in the 90s, and the main characters played by Kim So-Hyun and Doh Kyung-soo are portrayed so touching and realistic, I was in positive shock back then, as I just hadn't seen anything that authentic in many years.

If you like beautiful but tragic love stories, watch this, but be prepared it's a real tear jerker. Six years later now and I still haven't forgotten this movie and like to watch it from time to time.

Oh, and on a side note: for all those saying Doh Kyung-soo can't act? I disagree after having seen him in this movie.

Overall, it wasn’t a bad series. You should definitely give a try!!

If you’re looking for something lighter, especially in terms of the main couple, I’d recommend it.

Overall, it wasn’t a bad series. The main couple’s storyline was a bit unusual but still enjoyable. As for the second couple, I honestly skipped their parts. This is a simple romcom series, so you shouldn’t expect it to be world changing.

Same great cast, same story

Pegasus three brings back all the characters that we loved and maybe some extras that not everyone have seen. The actors all do a great job and the main group have great chemistry together. This feels like a reward movie for people who have watched all three movies and the TV series. The production quality is top-notch as always. Really shows off the technology of the cars and the complexities of rally racing.

The downside is, it’s the same story as the first and second movie. Down to the same story beats, and if I sat down, maybe at the same point in the movie. There was a potential to do a lot more by having a team of four racers instead of two, and showing the characters as the underdogs against the world. Unfortunately, the story went back to “losers” with no money, one car, evil people in power trying to sabotage them.

Also, my spouse was really upset about the lack of female cast. The TV series did a good job of correcting this and adds to a feeling that the characters have no growth from where they ended the second movie.

It is still a good movie, but does not have the spirit of the second movie. However, it will not have the rewatch level of the second movie.

Hilarious movie

Did you like Sean at the Dead or Hot Fuzz? This is their Chinese cousin. And he’s just as good.

But the water pipes is a really fun, enjoyable comedy that starts with a simple premise and a few characters, as the story progresses the story becomes more ridiculous and absurd us, and they add more characters. Each character add more to the story and the absurdity is hilarious while not breaking the reality of the world. The actors all do an incredible job the story sticks together and you’re so focused on what the characters are doing you don’t spend time pointing out how this is absurd or ridiculous. Meaning it’s in grossing story. My spouse and I spent most of the movie, laughing out loud.

See this movie.

Interesting...

Under normal circumstances, I would never have given this movie a chance based on the description alone. However, I randomly saw a short TikTok edit about the film and wanted to see the ending. This movie is… interesting, to say the least. A young girl is “kidnapped” and lives with a pedophile for two months. Eventually, she is found, and he is arrested. Cue start of movie when she’s a young adult.

To think that her time as a young girl with this man for two months is the LEAST of her problems is actually insane and just goes to show that the movie had quite a bit going for it in terms of story. I think that’s why I enjoyed it. It subverted expectations. I went into it not liking the topic but was pleased with the story it was telling.

The acting was good, it’s shot well, and the original soundtrack is nice. It never crosses the line in terms of visuals if you know what I mean, though there is a brief but impactful use of male nudity for the story's sake. The other stuff she goes through is far worse if you can believe that.

A fun watch with a traditional Chinese ending

Go see this movie!

This movie was in enjoyable to watch. The story starts very creatively and it’s really nice to see how creative they were with the different dreamworld. Lots of computer generated action and events, but to a high-quality the actors all do a great job the characters have realistic, chemistry, and good character development. It is a gripping story that starts out fun and it becomes very serious. The traditional Chinese ending is not bad, but I felt undercuts the creativity of the earlier part of the story. The end is very good, very well acted and emotional. As a long time movie watcher though. I give more points for not falling into tropes.

Go see this morning and enjoy the Chinese industry. I keep making creative movies like this.

2/10 Storyline, 10/10 Chemistry

If you're watching this for the storyline and plot, you will be left very confused. The leads chemistry and passion makes up for it though.. I guess. There are so many inconsistency with the filming and you can tell it's very low budget, but the kissing is 10/10. There are some issues with consent with this show though, so trigger warning for that.

Love on Ice

Rating: 8.5/10

Review

This is a delightful slice-of-life sports romantic drama that beautifully blends friendship, personal growth, and heartfelt romance. I highly recommend it and might even rewatch it myself—it's definitely a top pick for romance fans. The leads, Tang Xue and Li Yubing, have fantastic chemistry, and their friends-to-lovers journey feels authentic and believable from start to finish.

Spoilers

I initially struggled to get past Tang Xue's childhood bullying of Li Yubing—I completely understood why he transferred schools to escape it. It felt odd later when the truth came out that he had been deceptive about his reason, and Tang Xue's father (and others) treated Li Yubing like the villain. Her behavior reminded me of a kid pulling pigtails to hide a crush, mixed with jealousy over his better grades. At first, it was hard to move past, but the flashbacks revealed plenty of positive moments where Tang Xue actually supported and helped him, which helped redeem it. I appreciated that she eventually recognized how wrong she'd been and that she had bullied him, though I wish her father had acknowledged her responsibility more instead of essentially blaming Li Yubing for his daughter's actions.

I was also disappointed that her father and others kept pushing the idea that Tang Xue's past crush was the "better" choice for her. She could have shut that down by explaining to her dad how the guy's rejection devastated her, leading to her emotional distress and eventual injury. I don't think he deserves full blame for the injury, but he does bear some responsibility for poor timing. Her father preferring him over Li Yubing was a factor of not knowing the real past between his daughter and him. So it felt very unfair to Li Yubin and Tang Xue could have cleared that up quickly had she chosen to.

But the biggest issue that diminished the romance for me was when Yu Yan was going through an emotional crisis. Tang Xue rushed to support him and let his mother extract a promise not to tell anyone. In a healthy relationship, she would never have agreed to keep such a major secret from her partner. That was bad enough. But a step worse—she ignored Li Yubing's calls and texts, and outright lied about her whereabouts. To me, that behavior wasn't excusable; it deeply hurt him and validated his reasons for feeling jealous. He said he was sorry first. That was disappointing as I felt like she was almost entirely to blame for that situation. And she never truly apologized for it, even though he'd early on expressed discomfort about her smiling too warmly at other guys. It made me worry she might dismiss his feelings in the future, lowering my investment in their relationship a bit. (That said, Li Yubing could have helped by telling her outright that Yu Yan had confessed his feelings and intended to pursue her despite knowing they were together.) It was emotional cheating, she was spending time and having fun with another guy who so obviously had romantic feelings for her. It was noble of her to help her friend but that does not overshadow the fact that she was willing to hurt Li Yubing and disregard his thoughts and opinions.

The ending wrapped things up nicely with happy resolutions, though I was a little disappointed we didn't see Tang Xue's Olympic performance—it's a minor nitpick, as the balance between closure and open-endedness felt just right overall. The side romances were adorably cute and added so much warmth. I loved that the corrupt chairman who deliberately injured Li Yubing finally faced justice and was turned over to the police. Li Yubing's teammate and close friend Jiang Shijia's long-simmering romance with Tang Xue's speed-skating rival Xia Menghuan was especially sweet—he'd liked her for so long that their payoff felt incredibly rewarding. The romance between the pursuing doctor and Tang Xue's close friend was also super cute; he put in so much effort to win her over, and I melted when she finally acknowledged her feelings by saying she was his princess but would treat him like her prince. Tang Xue standing up to Yu Yan's mother (who initially told her to stay away from her son) was satisfying, and it was heartwarming to see the mother grow through their relationship and become more supportive of Yu Yan. Even the two coaches reuniting after their past was adorably touching.

Overall, I really enjoyed Skate Into Love, but the unresolved aspects around the childhood bullying and Tang Xue's lack of accountability for the lying, secrecy, and emotional infidelity during the Yu Yan situation hold it back slightly for me. Li Yubing ended up apologizing for his (justified) jealousy and lack of trust, when she'd been blatantly dishonest.

It still too raw to be drama

I watched this because of Zhang Jinyi and i quite expected reverse harem but the pacing was to fast and messy especially in the middle of drama the scene was too fast and plot was kind of messy. The premises was actually good about FL who transmigrated into harem and get liking from four previous harem that being humiliated by her. The harem MLs was quite not memorable even the Chaplin assassin and don't expected kiss or romance scene. The system was practically useless. If the script could be polished and the character could be more developed it would be better.

Avoid this at cost.
