Proof That Not Every BL Deserves to Exist !
**This series was a crime against my time and sanity.**I watched the entire thing waiting for it to make sense. It never did. The leads barely spoke like real humans and instead spent the whole drama telepathically miscommunicating, overthinking, and staring into the void. Nothing was clear until the final episode—and even then, it felt like a lazy excuse rather than an explanation.
The romance? **Nonexistent.** Chemistry? **Missing.** Emotional development? **Deceased.** I saw two empty characters wandering through a script that clearly hated both itself and the audience.
The pacing deserves jail time. The story moved so slowly it felt medically concerning. We were teased with antagonists early on, which gave me false hope—only for the drama to obsess over a disgusting pork blood soup business like it was some deep, meaningful metaphor. It wasn’t. It was pointless, ugly, and contributed absolutely nothing.
Most episodes were pure filler. Watching this felt less like a drama and more like being trapped in an endless loop of bad writing and wasted screen time.
The actors were fine.
**Everything else was trash.**
This is the first BL I finished that made me feel personally offended.
I will never rewatch it.
Not because I’m dramatic—
but because I respect myself!

Bittersweet and beautiful
This is part of, if not the peak of Korean drama. Certainly in terms of historical/fiction The acting, story, visuals, and enchanting OST. Everything exceeded my expectations. I read the tags so I sort of knew what to expect in terms of the ending. Even though I correctly predicted the outcome I still managed to be in denial until it occurred haha. Though I appreciate the overall ending a lot. It had a bittersweetness that is true to real life. <3Was this review helpful to you?
Entrancing visuals for the eyes and heart
The classic Cold ML x Naive FL trope, the soul switch was done well since it was easy to see who was in which body based off their quirky, cringy micro-expressions. It's adorable how obsessively protective Dongfang is of Orchid. The biggest flaw is Orchid being horrifically embarrassing in the beginning. Her squeaky, baby voice along with her attempts of acting cute had me in tears. It was THAT bad. I understand it's due to her naive and pure persona, but it was agonizing to watch.
Overall, a feast for the eyes and heart. Intense face cards in magnetic landscapes with magical OSTs and beautiful VFX. The humor and angst is fierce, the moments of laughter are hearty and tears are gut-wrenching. Simply a magical and heartwarming fairytale.

Some faithful, some reworked. War movie with OTT violence, and then one love story and another, success, betrayal, loyalty, magic, mythical sea creatures and special effects of dubious merit.
This isn't one to watch critically, better to just go along for the ride.

I really like Hu Xiu always choose herself
I watched all the episodes with a smile on my face. They are sooooo lovely and amazing.*
*
I know everyone loves their romance, chemistry, and acting. I love all of that too.
*
*
Spoiler alert!!
But I also want to mention one thing. Hu Xie always chooses herself. Yes, she is in love and she cares deeply about the person she loves, but she chooses herself first and then takes care of her love. When Xiao Zhi Yu tried to escape from her and, because of his feelings, acted like a little boy, Hu Xie rejected that. She said she chooses a man, not a boy. She also said she can’t follow a man who isn’t brave.
*
In the end, she focuses on her career first. I thought we would see a wedding or a baby at the end, but no! Instead, we saw a woman who focuses on both her career and her love. They are just happy without a wedding or a baby. They have each other, and that is enough. Most dramas show that women can’t be happy without marriage. I really liked this aspect of the drama and wanted to write a review about it.
*
And the second couple—they are also sooo lovely (not the husband one).
I was waiting to see what would happen between Zhao Xiao Rou and her husband, because this man never looked trustworthy to me. And then that thing happened. Zhao is also very strong. I realized he was a loser when a guy slapped Zhao in the game and he did nothing. He just stood there and watched. OMG, seriously. I was waiting for him to act stupid—and he did. He isn’t funny, talkative, or interesting as a husband. For example, Zhao likes games, but he rarely joins her or shares her interests.
Then Zhao found a man who truly cares about her—someone funny and responsible. I really like the second couple. If the writer had ended Zhao’s story with that ex-husband moron, I would have been very disappointed.

A haunting tale of when a king falls in love
An incredibly heartbreaking but realistic portrayal of how it is to love a king in the Joseon era. Sorrowful OST, profound acting, and well-paced story line. It's obvious that Deok-Im and Yi San are in love with each other but the palace politics and her desire to maintain independence are strong obstacles. When they ultimately did ended up together, it is not a celebration but a condemnation. There is an intense political plot drama, but their moments of romance are very sweet.
A humorous beginning that ended in such tragedy that I would cry even to this day. The tears would not end for the woman in love with a man who had everything but was not able to gave her the one thing she desired, his entire self.

Not my Cup of Tea - Real Life is harsh enough
This film starts as a beautiful but awkward love story between Jimmy, an 18-year-old Taiwanese teen working at a karaoke bar, and Ami, a Japanese backpacker who briefly works alongside him.Spoilers
The chemistry never truly sparks, which I later realized was intentional—Ami keeps her distance due to her hidden struggle with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (a serious heart condition where the heart muscle thickens abnormally, making it harder for the heart to pump blood effectively and potentially leading to life-threatening complications).I never rooted for Jimmy and Ami as a couple, and I couldn't understand why Jimmy became so obsessively devoted to her from the outset. The story leans heavily on the frustrating trope of one person (Ami) unilaterally withholding life-altering information—her terminal illness—under the guise of nobility.
Eighteen years later, Jimmy (now in his 30s) remains so fixated on the "what if" of Ami that he's avoided other relationships entirely. This obsession stalls his personal growth and professional success, trapping his entire young adult life around what he perceived as rejection. It's profoundly sad, but in a preventable, self-inflicted way.
There are almost no genuinely uplifting moments to lighten the gloom—at most, their single date provides a brief flicker. They share a movie-watching scene that clearly devastates them both, but the film never explains the movie's content or why it affects them so deeply. It also glosses over Ami's hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, leaving key emotional context underdeveloped.
Ironically, the fleeting relationships Jimmy forms during his present-day journey through Japan are far more heartwarming and authentic than his central romance with Ami. The young boy he befriends on the train is adorable and genuinely kind, creating a sweet, fleeting connection that brought a real smile to my face. Even more charming is the young woman working at the internet cafe who kindly takes him to a lantern festival—their easy rapport felt refreshing, and I found myself hoping Jimmy would track her down again and maybe spark a new, healthier relationship.
While some viewers who love melancholic films might call this "realistic," and others may view Ami's secrecy as selfless (she truly believed she was protecting Jimmy, and it pained her deeply), I strongly disagree. True love means facing difficult truths together and making decisions as partners, not alone.
The frequent switching between Japanese and Mandarin also confused me; without clearer cues, it was hard to follow the languages and made scenes feel disjointed.
I would not recommend this film. I would not watch it again. And I avoid content like this. i do not need sad, or terminal illnesses or anything like that - enough going on like that in real life.

A BANGERRR?????????????????
I really enjoyed this drama I loved all the character development I love the story I really think it had some originality to it and I really liked how they actually emphasised on the female leads career rather than just brushing it under the rug , an office worker, I love how the story is quite realistic and I could relate to her situation with her parents.I really like the man lead like he’s a gem as an actor he’s acting is really good and I also enjoyed his chemistry with the female lead however i do think at some point when they did get together it was a bit awkward and a bit unrealistic but I blame that on the script.
Something that I really liked was that they had an actual interesting second couple that I actually was excited to watch also I loved how they went over the past of how the second couple became a couple. It was very interesting to see the main lead background and his story it was slowly revealed Through the story Keeping you on the edge for the next episode and what will happen next.
I also really enjoyed only got excited when the main lead would get jealous.
Would I recommend this yes
would I rewatch this yes
what is it one of the best in 2026 yes
did I enjoy every bit of it yes

insane chemistry and creative story!
It's a gorgeous drama with its own unique twist in the form of a detective game! And what a romantic, tender, and sensual couple HuXiu and ZhiYu turned out to be! The chemistry between YuXiao and Chen Xing Xu is simply incredible, and their relationship felt so real.Although the cdrama has a touch of drama, it's not entirely a light-hearted narrative, but without this plot twist, the ending wouldn't have been as satisfying. It's a drama that can be enjoyed multiple times! The game element is creatively incorporated into the plot, and the character’s outfits are a work of art, it looked incredibly beautiful.
Once again, I’m captivated by YuXiao's acting, and romance is definitely her forte. I particularly appreciate how HuXiu persevered in her pursuit of her goals, ultimately achieving what she truly deserved.
I highly recommend this drama to everyone!

This was one of the best things I have ever seen
I lowkey thought this show was phenomenal, and I have seen it 8 times now lmao. I also finished it in December when it first came out. I would give it a 9 out of 10 (which is like a 1000/10 in short drama standards), and then I am going to say what I liked and what I didn’t!NO ONE LIKES SHITY SHORT DRAMAS MORE THAN ME, I SWEAR TO GOD. The guys are the epitome of Chinese beauty in men, I swear to god. The guy who plays the racer is so fucking sexy, I literally do not know what to do with myself. Like he's SO SEXY. His nose is my favorite feature of his, and it's so fucking hot. He is gorgeous, so handsome, so everything. The guy who plays the urologist is also so hot, he's like old man sexy, even though he's like 30 irl, I think. He is very sexy, especially towards the end with all that yearning, Jesus Christ. I think they are both very good actors, and they mesh so well together, I swear. Just great chemistry all across the board. The plot is very straightforward, and I love it when shows do that. Like, he's a racer, he can't get it up, he goes to a urologist, they fall in love, and yeah. Nice, simple, and easy. For what it is, it was really well done in my opinion, and I think they did a good job with everything from costumes to filming, just an overall good job. The sex scenes were to die for in this, just overall really well done. In my opinion, they have some really good character development on both sides, and I really liked that; it gives them some more dimension, good writing. I enjoyed this show a lot, and it is really funny and actually really well done, so I recommend checking it out.
A damn shame there aren’t 10 seasons, and 1000000 episodes of this fucking bullshit, I swear to god. THE GIRL AND THAT ANNOYING STALKER DUDE. Y'all shut the fuck up. Just poorly written characters in my opinion, and very one-dimensional, and both for the same reason. They are in love with Charles and can't have him, so they are trying to stop the main couple from being together. Basic ass and shity ass writing. I hate when characters' only dimension is that they are obsessed with a guy, like fuck off. As much as I love the actors, THEY CAN’T KISS AT ALL. Like fuck, we taught y'all everything else, down to the looks and how to sit, but we aren’t gonna teach y'all how to kiss. I also think it's due to the fact that the actors are definitely straight, and kissing another man can be awkward AF. So I understand, but still. The plot being pretty good doesn’t take away from the fact that it's fucking bullshit lmao. Like, who came up with this? Lmaooo. Also, there are a few continuity errors if we wanna get very technical. Like the tattoo was in the first couple of episodes, then disappeared, and then appeared again, but that's just me being annoying. Also, they randomly got engaged, which was a little bullshit, I can't lie. OKAY, one scene that I didn’t like. The doctor guy sees Charles and the girl talking, jumps the gun, and then COMES ON TO HIM???? Like why? WHY DID WE DO THAT? I don’t think that scene was necessary, like I understand, but I think that we could have had that play out differently, because that also marked some character development, so they could have talked it out instead of him straight up just trying to SA him. ALSO THIS WHOLE SHOW IS JUST STRAIGHT FUCKING MALPRACTICE LMAO. Insane, truly. Yeah, that's all I have.
I did really enjoy this, and I watched 800 ads to get it for free, so I can watch it whenever I want and don't have to worry about getting a virus! I would recommend this so much; it's so fun, and the guys are sexy and have good chemistry. The plot is BS, but it is still very fun lmao. Okay bye!

THE CUTEST MOVIE EVER
why was this the cutest movie ever 😭 it felt like such a warm hug. and honestly I was kind of skeptical after hearing about the plot because it's been done bajillion of times and like even in 2025 curly hair is a problem to be solved?? but I'm so happy I was wrong because the movie was so amazing. it's one of those movies you'd rewatch to feel something, the ROM coms you just put on yk. I don't know I just love it. the female lead was so cute and the male lead was also so adorable. I also loved the second lead I don't think he was a lead but whtv because of the actor. it's just an amazing movie. Was this review helpful to you?

Dynamism Love
So, I checked this out particularly because of Chen Xing Xu. I've liked him since the drama Fall In Love. When I saw him wearing that General uniform in the VR game, it gave me flashbacks on how he portrayed his General role in FIL. I am really not a fan of Republican era, but CXX really got me hooked to watch FIL even if it's a Republican drama. Am really glad that it was just a VR game portion in this drama. As for our FL, Lu Yu Xiao, I believe this is the first time I saw her portray a lead role. I haven't seen any other drama of hers playing the lead. I have no problems with her portrayal. She really nailed her role here. I liked her character being a simple employee with a cheerful and positive outlook in life. Very independent and career driven.
As for the plot, I liked the fusion of the VR game in the beginning and didn't focus much on it. There are some things that just didn't satisfy me much. First, are the kisses. I'm very particular on this as a romance drama enthusiast. I've seen CXX on how he does his kiss scenes in FIL. I guess, it felt like the steaminess or spiciness kinda lacked here. It was done too conservatively.
Then, another thing I noticed, Xiao Zhi Yu uses the same vehicle as what Li Xian used in Go Go Squid. And that open car window kiss was also done by Li Xian in Go Go Squid.
XZY's character is just okay. I understand that he always have communication problems in terms of sharing his problems and tends to always solve matters on his own. If he losses control over a matter he always resort to a kiss to his beloved. Most people find it romantic but I prefer hearing the explanation first before we kiss and makeup. I mean, serious matters needed to be discussed, a good kiss can come later on after things have been clarified. Same thing over the finale, when his mom said about not telling her from the start what's going on. Yes, he was only concerned of their safety, yet a person so important to you still need to know what's going on. Just my own opinion.
The supposedly third wheels for this drama wasn't given much attention on, I believe everyone was happy about that, But, I have to mention, I really find Luna gorgeous when I saw her face.
As for Pei Zhen, he's partly the antagonist for this drama but it became more on his father. Honestly, I really liked his character development towards the finale. It takes a REAL man to ask for forgiveness for his wrongdoings. I'm glad he's turning over a new leaf.
For the SC, I was hoping to see at least a romantic development on them towards the finale, but I think they were able to build their friendship as business partners.
As for the MC's finale, honestly, I am not satisfied over it. One, yes, I am happy for the FL that she was able to fulfill her dream in terms of her career but, I didn't like that marriage is still not yet on her plans. But, I would love to see them having engaged at least or yes, having kids. Second, I am not a fan of LDR. So, ML leaving for the US without her is a downside for me. I know one of his reasons aside from his mom is for FL to be able to soar high with her career and fulfilling her dreams. I don't know, but, probably because partly this was too slow burn that I was looking forward more of them being together after resolving their issues.
Oh, and also that incident when FL was kidnapped and was about to be burned alive in an abandoned warehouse, I was just wondering why ML have to go alone and didn't call for back up at least like the police., since it was a very dangerous situation.
Lastly, I'm not sure if the production just wanted to show a different style of the drama, but, the editing sometimes seem off for me. Like, the kisses should happen first before you get the ML to explain everything. Can't it be the other way around? Like explain everything first and don't make people misunderstand instead of always trying to always keep everything to himself which usually leads to misunderstanding.
Anyways, inspite of its flaws, this was still a good watch. CXX hair never misses to be styled during the entire drama as well as Pei's. 😁 I just noticed.
One last thing, I liked that piano scene in XZY's apartment.
Overall, I gave this an 8.

I especially loved how the main characters, particularly the female lead, were written and framed. It was easy to empathize with her and feel what she was going through. I love that the story isn’t just about finding love, but about finding solace and understanding in another person. It reminds us that no matter how many languages you know, learning to understand just one person’s language can make everything shine in a different light.
If you’re looking for a sign to watch this drama, this is it. The chemistry between the main couple is incredibly swoon-worthy even with it being a slow burn.

♾️/100!!! i have never enjoyed a drama this much from start to finish. no notes, no comments, no complaints. lu yuxiao, the actress that you are. i always know i could trust you in the acting department. chen xingxu, i was not aware of your acting game man. you surprised me the most with this one. their chemistry, im so sorry i doubted it from the very beginning. thank you for proving me wrong. but most of all, the vr game concept, rongcheng and the whole murder mystery game, just pure brilliance and creativity. Was this review helpful to you?
