High Stakes, Sharp Shooters, and Suffocating Tension! ??
The premiere of Dare You to Death set the bar incredibly high! Here is my breakdown of why this episode was a total win:
The "Adversary" Spark: The professional friction between Inspector Khamin (Dunk) and Captain Jade (Joong) is intense. They refuse to back down or lose, which perfectly matches the energy of the OST "Dare You To Love".
The "Drunk" Act (Captain Jade): My absolute favorite moment! Joong’s acting was so convincing that he had me totally fooled until the moment he broke character. It showed just how clever and unpredictable Jade can be.
The Sharp-Shooting Solution (Inspector Khamin): Dunk as Khamin proved why he’s a top detective. Solving the case and taking that shot in one go was a powerful "boss" moment that showed his precision and fearlessness.
Cinematography & Vibe: The night scenes and high-stakes investigation vibe were top-tier. The production quality is clearly premium.
The Chemistry: The "enemies-to-lovers" tension is already suffocating in the best way possible!.
My Rating: The visuals and acting micro-expressions are easily 10/10

Yeah…this took a turn.
I went in not having a clue what I was gonna get myself into and goodness me, was I put through a roller coaster ride.Just goes to show you can never judge a book by its cover.
Highly recommend!
This has got to be one of my favourite Korean BL of 2025. We need more of this but maybe not in a love quadrangle lol.

Esther Yu is Jiang Mu coded
This drama is very good, from the plot, the acting of the actors and actresses, the drama production is very good. Besides that, Jiang Mu's character is a very interesting figure, she is a cute girl, very dedicated and also firm in her stance. Esther Yu as an actress also plays a very important role in the promotion of this drama, where her tiktok content really spoils fans until we are carried away by their romantic atmosphere to real life. You must watch this drama on iQiyi, and don't forget to give a good review, thank you all for reading my review.Was this review helpful to you?
Cliché and short
This one had potential but it was too short. I liked the cliché plot but I'd prefer it in a longer format.You can barely hear any dialogs cz the background music is way too loud. The acting, cast and visuals were good. I get the idea but it didn't feel like a series more like a long ad. The whole series is 11 mins so i guess u get the idea.

He Yu’s Jin Zhao: The Heart and Soul of Speed and Love and a ML worth falling for
I really loved this drama, and I fell hard for Jin Zhao. Speed and Love is not a perfect show, but it has a soul and that soul is Jin Zhao. If you are thinking about watching this drama and like the bad boy with a heart of gold trope, do it!! Do it for He Yu/Jin Zhao and you will thank me. I rated acting as 9/10 because of the FL's lacking performance. But for the ML and He Yu's acting it would be 11/10! He really carried the show and emotional and intimate tension!!One of the things I appreciated most is how the drama handled Jin Zhao and Jiang Mu’s early dynamic. I genuinely don’t find the “big brother” phase strange or uncomfortable at all. In fact, it makes emotional sense. Jin Zhao clearly grew up without ever feeling like he truly belonged. He knew he was adopted, he lacked consistent parental warmth, and later it becomes evident that the mother harbored resentment toward him while the father was distant and emotionally absent, especially after the move to Thailand. Jiang Mu was one of the first people who chose him purely and warmly, without conditions. His protectiveness wasn’t romantic at first, it was rooted in care, responsibility, and a quiet sense of guardianship that came from his own emotional deprivation.
What really stood out to me was how respectful Jin Zhao was when Jiang Mu was only twenty and beginning to develop feelings for him. He never crossed boundaries. He restrained himself constantly. He waited for her consent, not just verbally, but emotionally and through her making the first steps. At the same time, he never made her feel unsafe or unsure. He made it clear that he liked her, that her feelings were welcome, so when she finally did step forward, she didn’t have to fear rejection or humiliation. Their transition from estrangement to tentative closeness, and then into first love, was beautifully done. It felt exactly like a careful, young, emotionally formative first love: hesitant, intense, sincere, and deeply memorable.
I didn’t love the forced separation or the sacrificial breakup trope, and I do think that portion of the story was rushed and not fully articulated. That said, I could still empathize with Jin Zhao’s choice. The show gives enough signs that he was deeply depressed after the accident, stripped of his physical prowess, pride, and identity. His decision came from fear, guilt, and a belief that love meant letting her go rather than allowing her to suffer with him. While I didn’t love the execution, I understood the emotional logic behind it. What ultimately made me forgive him was his growth afterward. He reflects on his mistakes. He no longer hides behind silence or martyrdom. He learns to accept love instead of only giving it. Watching him transform from a reckless bad boy with a golden heart into a steady, emotionally open life partner was incredibly rewarding. Every smile he allows himself in the later episodes feels earned, and I found myself rooting for him constantly.
He Yu’s performance is honestly the backbone of this drama. His acting is nuanced, restrained, and intensely emotional. His eyes do so much of the storytelling: longing, fear, guilt, tenderness, hope. Even when the script falters, his portrayal of Jin Zhao never does. He made Jin Zhao feel real, layered, and unforgettable. I’ll absolutely be following his future projects, because this performance alone convinced me of his range and depth.
That said, the drama does have flaws. The plot is uneven and at times unclear, likely due to editing cuts. The motivations behind Jiang Mu going to Thailand at nineteen, and later the exact circumstances of their separation, deserved more emotional grounding and narrative clarity. These moments should have hit harder than they did.
Another major weakness, for me, was Esther Yu’s performance. I don’t mind an innocent or naive female lead, but her acting simply wasn’t on the same level as He Yu’s. In scenes that required deep emotional reciprocity, especially during moments of intimacy, tension, separation, longing, or reunion, she often fell short in facial expressions, micro-expressions, and physical stillness. I mean a girl can be cute but also have genuine emotional range!! But I felt all she did was focus on the naive cute big eyes look. Jin Zhao’s love feels enormous, consuming, and visceral; too often, it felt like he was carrying the emotional weight of the relationship alone. While I still cared about Jiang Mu as a character, I couldn’t help but feel that a stronger performance would have elevated the drama significantly.
Despite these issues, Speed and Love stayed with me. Jin Zhao stayed with me. The drama succeeds where it matters most: in creating a male lead who feels deeply human, loving, flawed, and worthy of devotion. If you enjoy emotionally restrained yet passionate male leads, slow-burn romance, and stories about choosing love after pain, this drama is absolutely worth watching, especially for Jin Zhao and He Yu’s remarkable performance!! Now I am off to find his other works and patiently await his future works.

If you love soft spoken people, this one’s for you!
Yesterday, I finish watching this drama. Let me tell you, it’s a masterpiece! I’m not really a fan of a modern drama because I usually watched historical Wuxia/ Xianxia/ Xianhua. For me, it’s very rare to binge watch a modern drama (I finished it within 2 days) and this one is epic! I would like to start with their voice.Their voice is so soothing in the ear! I might fall asleep when they’re talking to each other or singing. I love how soft he talks to her, they’re very passionate when it comes to their careers too. This drama is such a vibe!
Yes, a domineering boss is such a vibe, but this one? He’s such a lowkey person. But when it comes to her (fl) he is loving her loudly, even though he doesn’t want fans to know them (their relationship) because it may affect the girl as he is a renowned dubber.
A man who cooks will always have a special place for my heart. Also, I want to mention the second leads, Duo Bing jie and Fengyangsong (not sure if the names are correct) I love the so much! Thank you for ruining your friendship 😭🙏🏻 When I say I love them, I meant it. When they first appeared on the screen together, I knew something was going on!
Before I stop yapping about this drama, I just want to appreciate how this drama talks about historical instruments! Also, there’s no miscommunication in this couple! I LOVE THEM! no conflict between them and no antagonist, just friendship and good vibes. I love how their circle of friends doesn’t get jealous of someone else’s fame!

Wow! My first journey into the Omegaverse!
PLOT: A handsome Alpha-S (ML, CEO, of course) is being courted by a gorgeous, fragile "Omega" with an orchid scent (MC). The MC is secretly being helped by ML2 (Alpha - CEO of another biopharmaceutical company, which owns a drug that could save ML's father). ML2 has a very close secretary (ML3), an Omega who pretends to be a Beta, in love with ML2 (who hates Omegas). However, the fragile, orchid-scented Omega, obsessed with ML, is hiding secrets :)This completely unfamiliar world initially seems outlandish, incongruous, absurd... But the actors are brilliant and manage to draw us into this fantasy. Kudos!!
+++ Amazing actors
+++ High-quality production (costumes, sets, lighting, framing, props), everything is meticulously thought out.
+++ It's actually quite fun to see all the twists and clichés of classic dramas transposed into this world where gender roles are assigned differently.
+++ Excellent OSTs
### The ending is too rushed, especially for CL2. Their reunion is hinted at, but the viewer would have liked to see more!
=> A surprising but delightful discovery :)

Wahouuu !
Kudos !!
+++ Acteurs géniaux
+++ Production high-quality (costumes, décors, lumières, cadrages, accessoires), tout est pensé dans les détails.
+++ C'est finalement très amusant de voir transposer tous les twists / clichés des dramas classiques dans cet univers où les genres sont attribués différemment.
+++ Excellents OSTs
### Le final est trop rushed, en particulier pour le CL2. Leurs retrouvailles sont suggérées, mais le spectateur aurait aimé en voir davantage !
=> Une découverte étonnante mais savoureuse :)

I thought it was cute!
Annoying to watch on a platform that showed it in micro-episodes, but I thought it was cute--and the scene with Jaehon in the school hallway (you'll know the one) had me YELLING. For a simple university BL story it was endearing and entertaining--it's not high art, but the actors give it their all and I was definitely entertained. I even sat around and gathered the virtual coins so I could watch it uninterrupted. If you can watch it easily, it's a fun short to see.Was this review helpful to you?

ML is hot in the garage! Great performance!
This show mistakes obsession for romance. Jiang Mu exists only to orbit Jin Zhao, erasing herself while he “lives” by accomplishing her dreams — yet he isn’t truly living either, since he’s chasing a life not his own. Six years pass, bad things happen, but neither grows; the show glorifies silence, waiting, and avoidance as love. Jin Zhao ghosts, hides injuries, and faces no consequences, while Jiang Mu’s devotion is romanticised despite her stagnation.Esther’s baby-voice and expressionless performance turns what should be vulnerability into a caricature, making emotional immaturity unbearable. She hasn’t fully developed the nuances that distinguish a good actor from a great one, understandable given her experience.
The screenwriter leans on tired c-drama tropes — noble sacrifice, prolonged separation, silent suffering — and calls it depth. By the end, the “romance” is just two people stuck in each other’s dreams, never truly living, never truly growing. It’s arrested development with a soundtrack.

Deconstructing the myth of the invincible killer with the raw reality of an aging body
When action heroes grow old – what remains?In the case of Pa-gwa: This is NOT a late-career revenge drama. It is an anti-myth. The KMovie Pa-gwa fundamentally challenges the conventions of the action genre.
The title Pa-gwa (파과) is a clever play on words. In Korean, it refers on one hand to "bruised fruit" that is no longer fit for sale. On the other hand, it historically signifies an age (16 for women, 64 for men) marking the end of one's "prime."
At the heart of the film is Lee Hye-young, delivering a masterful performance as Hornclaw through sheer presence and minimalism. While many praise her as a "strong woman," her true power lies in being overlooked. Hornclaw is not stylized as a superhero; she is a woman who exists at the edges of the frame, rarely heroized in frontal shots. She is a character becoming increasingly invisible—socially, physically, and cinematically.
The film treats this invisibility not as a deficit, but as a societal reality. An old woman who is overlooked, ignored, and underestimated—that is precisely what makes her dangerous. The message: A society that ignores older women creates its own formidable adversaries.
The movie consistently breaks with action clichés: there are no "cool" weapons or heroic fight choreography. The battles are grueling, often messy, making mistakes. Here, violence is not a spectacle; instead, it serves as a memory of past times and pains. It feels more lifelike and less polished.
The narrative style is equally unusual: the story remains open and incomplete, refusing simple explanations or neat moral judgments. The film does not attempt to organize violence, aging, or guilt—it simply endures them. This feels more honest, reflecting a real life that isn't always logical or conclusive.
But what makes the KMovie Pa-gwa so special in my eyes is its tenderness. The film takes time for quiet moments, observing the mundane with a mindful, unsentimental gaze—completely without trying to be "cool." Eventually, this is what makes it particularly powerful and human.
Pa-gwa tells the story of what happens when action figures grow old and can no longer win their battles with ease. And indeed: Lee Hye-young is the reason this film resonates so deeply and stays with you long after the credits roll.
PS:
The KMovie Pa-gwa (directed by Min Kyu-dong) is based on the acclaimed novel by Gu Byeong-mo.

As far as minis go, it's pretty mid.
The two kids are adorable, so I'll give 'em points for that. -their acting was probably better than most of the adults-The female empowerment narrative was about as subtle as a neon sign. Overdone and unrealistic ie: eyeroll inducing.
The "plot twist" can be seen coming from miles away, perhaps that was intentional though.
The "village" leader is more like the "village idiot" leader. He'd do real well as a modern day politician.
-the villians are cartoon level evil, as are their "freak of the week" schemes.
FL's mother is doing too much. Tone it down would ya? Lol
Overall, some cute and funny moments, but could have been cut down probably an hour of run time even as a mini. Something to throw on when you're bored, but don't want to invest any time & brain power in a more complex plot.

at the start i didn't like how pushy Jae Hyeon was, yeah he "fell" the sec he saw Seung Jun & was already pursuing him. but anyone with eyes could see that Seung Jun was skittish & weary of his own shadow. Jae Hyeon needed to rein himself in, a bit & follow Seung Jun's lead. even though given Seung Jun mindset, i wonder if a little pushing wasn't what he needed to come out of his shell. even though Jae Hyeon's approach was a bit much, he broke through Seung Jun walls & made Seung Jun want to live instead of just exist. what i found infuriating is that Seung Jun regarded & spoke of Kim Ju Won as his ex & not a groomer or a predator - as he was both. in his position, he had his pick among all the young talent that were desperate to make it & he abused that power. so Seung Jun even yrs later not coming to this realization bothered & saddened me. i understood why he took it so hard - he was an orphan that thought he finally found a safe haven, an person that was family & that person used, betrayed & then humiliated him. hard to just get over that kind of heartache - which was more a destruction of the soul. so i get why he was so traumatized even yrs later.
idk why Kim Ju Won decided he wanted Seung Jun back - given his position he would always have "fresh meat" but i guess we needed the drama for a reason; to push / force Seung Jun to face his fears & confront them. i would rather he talk to Jae Hyeon & not ghost him, cause Kim Ju Won popped into his life. but i guess we also needed the big blow-up for them to part ways, while Seung Jun fixed his life & got justice. cause as much as Jae Hyeon wanted to fix things for him, Seung Jun needed to do that for himself & when he was ready to face Jae Hyeon, he wrote him a song & the rest is history.
with everything going on, with all the character's & their baggage. i think the one my heart went out too was Lim Ho Yeon, he loved Seung Jun & was always there to pick up the pieces. but when Seung Jun was read to love, he never even looked his way. which was sad, but also logical as in Seung Jun's eyes Lim Ho Yeon was a brother, family so he could never think of him in anyway but platonic & that's a realization even Lim Ho Yeon reached, that's why he never confessed. cause of that selfless act of sacrifice, my heart broke for him.
even though this was a very short BL, a lot was covered & the logic of how everything of how everything unfolded was sound. even the ending was fitting. it didn't feel rush or unfinished. is it perfect, no but for a short BL this was very good. well acted & much better then a lot of other BL's i've seen come out recently. for sure a rewatch & will happily recommend this.

Loved Everything About The Dauntless Youths Especially the Ending Scene
If Mei ChangSu and Prince Jing ReincarnatedWhat’s a Chinese *Bromance* story if the first male leads aren’t rescuing one another from certain death by slavery as an introductory overture, and the second CP doesn’t want to kill each other in public on sight?
Add to that an identity-redemption sub-plot in which a seemingly incurably ill Prince authorises his doppelgänger to represent him at a foreign Royal Court - a hotbed of scheming, swift repercussions for missteps, and daily death-defying bouts with the local supernatural elements, and it’s a struggle to not keep pressing next episode.
The main leads, Kun Wu and Jiang Wen Huan saved each other, defended each other, they sacrificed themselves for each other and they loved each other beyond a shadow of a doubt.
If you’re thinking this is what it would sound like if Mei ChangSu and Prince Jing reincarnated this is exactly what crossed my mind too.
The way this drama starts out - so light and sweet and romantic and comedic, I never thought we would find ourselves at the mercy of the unpredictable, nail biting finish it becomes. I watched with rapt attention and enjoyed deeply every single minute of every single episode and I’m sorry to see The Dauntless Youths come to an end.
- Major Themes - Major Messages -
Of course there’s brotherhood, family, friendship, sacrifice, but overlaying these are bigger messages such as what defines the search for a good life; anti-imperialism; collective liberation; the self determination of women as agents of their own lives; and the sovereignty of nations on equal terms.
- The Ending -
After everything we went through the ending scene was such a beautiful balm for the spirit and I’m overjoyed they chose to end it this way. That its this kind of ending it gives us not a closed door narratively, but rather an oasis of renewal no one could’ve expected, is what makes it an even more precious gift that it ended this way.
I thought the final episode would surely decimate me but the creators understand our emotional needs at the end of this journey of characters we have grown attached to, allowing us several opportunities to see our leading couple together, happily reminiscing on the milestones that led up to them having the relationship they do, and still overflowing with love and devotion for each other.
Even the goodbyes as the surviving friends return to their homes and their own destinies are done elegantly and faithful to the nature of their relationships throughout, without leaving us feeling bereft.
- Could’ve Done Without -
My criticisms are that there are a bit too many long soliloquies of narrative exposition in the last episode and there was some wildly inappropriate music here and there at the end, but aside from that I’m giving The Dauntless Youths a perfect 8.8.
It’s also going on my re-watch list.
Big round of applause for everyone who took part in making The Dauntless Youths such a wonderful and memorable experience for us to indulge ourselves so deeply into.
Well done to both cast and crew and I’m looking forward to seeing what else the Directors and Writers of this exceptional foray into ancient homoeroticism in an ocean of more highly publicised also-rans, have for us.

Overall, super fun.
So let’s start this off, I will list down the things I liked and the things I didn’t like in this.- Plot overall, I enjoyed it. I’m quite a fan of mystery and triller novels so I found this fun to pursue, I started suspecting both of the Drs around mid drama but I felt like there wasn’t enough conclusive evidence. I never truly suspected that Yang Jungho was the killer but I was sure he was either an accomplice or knew the killer. And that led me to « oh so he must be protecting an orphan from the orphanage he lived in » but the question was who? Considering that we didn’t know enough about the Drs and everybody else, it was a bit tough to navigate but that made it all the more fun.
- I think a vital part of mystery and triller series or novels, is actually explaining how the murders were done, so I’m relatively sad that didn’t happen here, I’m glad we got a small clue as to why lee miyoung’s death was prolonged compared to the others (the music) but it didn’t feel satisfactory in a way not showing the murders, even though Ena in her analysis did predict pretty accurately how they did happen.
- I think that showcasing Ena as a bit emotionaless is supposed to be « oh she has a higher IQ and less EQ than the average person » so it’s more than her being quirky or weird, it’s that she genuinely has less EQ which crumbles a bit at the end when we see her talk with Lee Seujong and trying to convince her to not kill herself. There were definitely other scenes where you see her emotions seep up a bit, but that one was the only one in which we see her vulnerable in a way.
I think that’s overall it, I don’t have a lot of complaints because I genuinely felt excited watching this, it gave me that thrill of « oh let’s actually try to find the killer before Ena does » which was fun.

Wish they could pull this double Male lead combo again but please change the actress!
I was excited to see Yang Han/Alf Yang and Zhang Xuan as Double Male lead. And Both of them nail their character perfectly.The Plot was quite okay for Republican and unfortunately Zhang Zilin and Yang Han don't have chemistry. Zhang Xuan got better chemistry with Zhang Zilin but somehow she couldn't catch both of actor skills. Compare to all of main leads the FL was the key of the drama letdown.
Zhang Zilin acting show lack of emotion and didn't convince me as smart FL or someone who wants to take revenge. Her expression is almost same in every scene. It feels like annoying damsel in distress that usual Chinese short drama have. The worse of all the FL characterization is very inconsistent.
I've done it just for sake of the actors. Wish Both of male actor could collab with bromance or something with different FL. I couldn't enjoy Zhang Zilin acting.
