Have Potential but there is lacking something...

I quite like watching sensitive topic about Rape, PTSD and Suicide, so if you are not comfort with this issue you can skip this drama.
The plot is about FL best friend aka ML sister killed herself while FL was on marriage guilt with ML. ML torture her mentally while FL shows PTSD. FL abort ML children without ML knowing. ML family was not worse blame her for their daughter death.
ML character was being nonsense claiming he loves FL but never noticing everything was wrong with FL and pretends to love dovey with SFL. I don't know how poor that ML was being described by scriptwriter or author.

Wang Nan actually has chemistry with Chen Luxi and the plot is poor-written despite has deserve ending. For Chen Luxi, we need to agree she lacks of emotional scene especially on crying scene (I quite shocked how Chen Luxi in this drama is same Chen Luxi with Wang Changpeng drama since the drama also have PTSD topic)

Not their best for both of respective actor.

Incredible characters, The story of Chang An

"The Vendetta of An" is a story of Chang An, with the main themes of revenge and grief.

You pretty much see the rise and fall of both the people and the city through the eyes of Xie Huai An. In a way, XHA is not the main character, but instead the narrator to the stories of a multitude of other characters. Each of these other characters are desperately trying to write their own story and escape the narrative, which is what the show is ultimately about. Will you escape the cycle of revenge, or will you ultimately fall to those who are stuck in it?
This is not a "friendly" show. Every episode could be a death flag, every episode could provide an opportunity where the tides are turned. Even though ultimately you do not know the outcome of anyone's fate, the show gets you to care for every single character you meet along the way.

The absolute standout of the show, and what makes it worth watching in my opinion is the casting and characters. I'd argue that many people are type-casted in this show, from the veterans actors to your leads of Cheng Yi, Zhou Qi, and Tong Meng Shi. However, everyone plays their respective achetype so well that you simply cannot be mad that you've seen these people in these roles before.

Personally, this show is a 10 but there points in the story that are... dubious, at best. As mentioned before , plot twists appear left and right, and some things are just barely explained which can be frustrating. Especially when one character dies, while another lives almost unexplainably, suffering the same conditions as those who could not meet a more fortunate fate. There's also a lot of history to some characters, which are implied but logistically still make very little sense if you think about too hard. There are also some relationships that can seem a bit unrealistic, until you realize that the world they live in is much more unforgiving than our own. Although it seems more grounded than you typical Xianxia/Wuxia, you should treat it as a wuxia/xianxia. Suspend your disbelief for a bit, and this is a very entertaining, very enjoyable story.

Adorable!

When this came out back in 2020, I admit the cover and preview did not reel me in. I’m usually not a fan of the trope of getting sucked in your story, or traveling to another dimension, etc. Because sometimes it doesn’t end well and I am left heartbroken. The intro where the FL came flying in the air and the ML saved her? I was like, nope. It seemed like a cheesy romance to me. Plus, I wasn’t a fan of the main leads back then, too. But then I read a lot of great comments about them and this drama was among the top favorites in the dramaland. so I was like, yeah maybe I should give it a try?

I started watching Ding Yuxi’s more recent dramas months ago, and I found myself to be a huge fan now, so I started watching his old dramas. After Romance of a twin flower, I had to give The Romance of Tiger and Rose a chance, and OMG. Why did I wait 5 years to watch this?? *cries* This was such a funny drama! I adored every bit of it. It made me laugh, angry, and ugly cry at the same time. I was so heartbroken for the FL when she woke up from the dream. You’re going to keep guessing if it really happened or not? Anyway, I did not expect to love this drama so much. Never a dull moment. 24 episodes was good because there were no annoying fillers, and it’s not draggy at all.

The story starts out with the FL Chen Qianqian, the third princess of Huayuan city stealing the second princess Chen Chuchu’s groom. This was a script written by a scriptwriter from the modern world, XiaoQian. The actor Mr. Han criticizes and rejects her script saying she should learn what love is before making a story. She works on it and gets sucked in the story. I was wondering how Ding Yuxi would act here. He seems a little different from his recent works. Maybe it’s because of his makeup and wig. But after a few scenes, I was like yep, that’s the Ding Yuxi charm right there. He is a great versatile actor, hands down. Anyway, this show has a lot of lovable side characters like her assistant. He’s always smiling and laughing like he’s up to no good. Xiaoqian’s scenes with him are always so good.

One of my favorite scenes was when she was eating a pastry and she was teasing him and he went on and took a bite from it while it was in her mouth. Oh goodness! There were lots of cute scenes of them together. Han Shuo fell for her right away and she didn’t even notice it. At first, he just wanted to use the second princess Chuchu to steal the mine and maybe take over the whole city, but he ended up with Qianqian. I’m glad he didn’t cause trouble when the explosives were placed by his people. He replaced them with fireworks instead. That made Qianqian’s mother appreciate him. He asked her eunuch where was the location of Xuanhu city. She gave a bow, thanking the city owner for sending a great commander. I did not like the mother at first. But when she was always worried about Qianqian, even tolerating what she does, especially if it’s about Han Shuo, I started warming up to her.

The storytellers are very funny, too. I love how she discusses her “story” to them using fruit names for the characters. One even stated that the fruit circle is messy. It was nice that the people who hated her became her allies. Second princess Chuchu really got under my skin, not gonna lie. She was despicable. No remorse. I don’t know if I pity her but her jealousy was completely out of line.
Han Shuo was right when he told her to end the story and when she comes back to her world, it would seem like he never left. So in the end, when Mr. Han got into an accident, he was sucked in the story the same time Xiaoqian did, except he doesn’t remember who he was in the real world. So when he ended up in the hospital, bits and pieces of what happened in the story comes to his memory. I think that’s why when he saw Xiaoqian come to his room, he was a little defensive. He doesn’t want to believe in his dream. Calling her Ms. Orange was the only thing that can verify that Mr. Han was indeed Han Shuo. It’s so funny when she mentioned that she stole the dragon bone for him and cured his heart disease, and he told her that if she stole something, she needs to turn herself in. He even shot her his banana. I admit, I really wanted more cute scenes of them together after that hospital scene. But hey, at least she could still be with her love, Han Shuo. That’s all it matters. It was a great drama. I loved it so much. The ML and the FL have great chemistry. The whole crew did a wonderful job with this and I highly recommend this. I am officially a Zhao Lusi fan. I love her.

The agenda should have stayed hidden

This show was a hard watch, but I would do it all over again for JoongDunk. Yeah. This took me no joke (see what I did there) 2 years to finish. The main thing is that it is boring. So very boring. I would give it an 8.5 out of 10. I am going to say what I liked, what I didn't, and then an episode overview, so yeah.

I think this show had a great message and good potential. I will give them that. Great fucking potential and could have been greatness, I swear to god. It was fun, and they were free. And that is about it, lmao. Joong and Dunk delivered with their chemistry as normal and had some good kisses and good NC scenes in this. Sadly, it wasn't enough to save the show, I fear. I liked the background characters; they were fun. I actually think the character writing was good in this; it really was (besides the side couple in some parts, that was getting on my nerves). I liked the speech and debate part. I think it's because I did it from 3rd grade all the way to my senior year of high school, but I did enjoy that part. I miss speech and debate so much I can't even lie lmao. I thought the plot with Nita was fun. I don't know why I really liked it. It added to the plot and made it more interesting. Joong and Dunk looked great in this, ESPECIALLY DUNK OH MY LORD HE LOOKS SO GOOD. Might rewatch with one hand just for dunk and his gorgeous ass. I think the premise of this show was great, and so is the dynamic; it was just executed pretty poorly. I can't.

Incredibly forgettable show, I dont even remember it lmao. This is a slow burn done wrong. If you know me and my reviews, you know I hate slow burn and shity romance building, and this was no different. I have the attention span of a little kid, so slow burns aren't really my thing, but if done right, they can still be good. This was not done right. The whole show was very slow, and that made it incredibly boring, oh my lord. This took me dropping and starting like 3 times before I finally finished it, and it was a hard watch every damm time. We did a lot of sitting around holding our fucking balls in this show. Like nothing was happening for full episodes for both our couples (I would be lying if I said I remembered there was a side couple in this, I still didn't like them though, according to my episode reviews). Like that is the point of side coulpes to be there when the main characters are doing anything. But nope. Joke's posseiveness was cock blocking the entire show, I can't even lie to you. Oh my god, it wasn't even cute or fun, it was annoying as fuck. Another thing is, at the end, like the final episode, they were just having fake fucking problems to drag the show out, oh my lord, let's finish this. Okay, that is it.

Okay, overview. "I love Joong and Dunk so much. They are so fucking cute. This can actually be so good, it has a lot of potential, and I’m pretty excited, actually." I was watching this while it was airing, good for me. "Why am I not winning nationals with Joong Archen as my boyfriend? Is that too much to ask for? No, I dont think so. Manifesting this energy for this year's speech and debate." Sadly, I did not win nationals, and Joong Arch is still not my boyfriend; it's a sad day. "This episode proved me very wrong, and they are slow burn but fast at the same time, and I need this." I was then shot 57 times. "Hopefully, they come to terms with their feelings pretty fast. I miss them. I loved Star in my mind so fucking much. Love them forever." Would give my life for Joong Dunk. "The plot was moving, but nothing happened at the same time. It was getting on my nerves, but what can you do? They could have more potential with these, and if you aren't going to build on the main characters, at least build on the random side couples and the other ones. I think that would be fun." "The final episode airs tomorrow, so I am trying to get all of these done today so I can finish the show on time. But knowing me, it's probably not going to happen, but I love them." It didn't happen; it took chloe another 2 years to finish this. " The cuddling was just so fucking cute. I am glad Zo came clean with Nita because that was definitely going to cause some problems. I am glad they are trying to take things slow, and Joke is backing off to give his man some space. Joke's Possiveness is going to come bite them in the ass because he was already pulling that shit in this episode. Hopefully, we get more of the stalker because I love Nita and jokes about friendship. I just think it is interesting and adds to the plot." "I am ending the cycle, and I am gonna try to finish this lol." I lied again; it took me another year. "Someone said that if you dont like this, you dont get the concept, and I always get the concept, so we are back even if I think this is boring." "I am giving this show one last chance. I have tried to finish it three times now, and every single time I failed. This is the final time, let’s hit it to the bitch. I am a teenager. I understand these shitty shows. I get them all, but this show is flat-out boring. It’s so unfathomably boring, and I love joongdunk to the ends of the motherfucking earth. I will ride that ship till it explodes and incinerates into straight ash, but this show is so boring. Predictable ass show I fear. Ngl idk what he did bc it's been so long, but whatever he did it's his fault for sure. Also, Dunk looks beyond good in this. I don’t even know what we’re doing anymore." "Oh, that sucks, oh that fucking sucks. Because you have to be happy for her when you know it's hard. Too real, that's wrap it up. I think that the message behind this show is fantastic, it's just the slow burn aspect with their dynamic as well as the plot, but stick with this shit. Too real, I fear. Way too real. IT'S NOT A PARTY UNTIL SOMEONE GETS SHOT. I knew it. I was trying to finish this in class, but it didnt work out." "Why are we having fake problems rn?"

Yeah, I think it has a good premise and good chemistry, just really poor execution that made this so fuckinf boring. But watch it if you want. Okay bye!

Love the show!!!!

The Vendetta of An is intense, emotional, plot twist, and completely gripping. It hooks me so fast and Huge credit to Cheng Yi and the casts for delivering such a compelling and memorable such a great story!!

Cheng Yi does a great job in The Vendetta of An. His acting is so good and it’s easy to get pulled into the character’s emotions. Even in quieter moments, he says a lot without overdoing it.

Its literally same as their title and got nice ending.

I watched this since i was fond of Peng Yao acting despite everyone criticism for her ponytail hairstyle. Jin Jun Liang is basically on his field being best scumbag SML. The kiss scene between Duan Meiyang and Peng Yao was only few scenes. The chemistry is obviously show on entire drama.

The Plot is about FL accepted SML confession on his victory against other school basketball team while ML was seen everything while he want to give FL love letter. Years later three of them met again, FL and SML was on airplane and ML was being their pilot. There is sick person on airplane, FL was doctor want to save person while ML didn't like FL profession. FL save the person and ML was pilot want to give award to her. They met again when ML was going first for business issue leaving FL alone and waiting for taxi.

I quite like the slow pace about ML pursuing FL and the way drama show FL being trapped and rarely smile when she with SML and FL smiles when she nears ML without being realized she is infatuated by ML.

The FL parents is pain in ass, I hate them for forcing FL to being SML despite SML disrespect attitude.

The ending is quietly nice and wished they show FL and ML marriage scene. SFL and SML got their deserve ending. Quite like SFL character progression realizing when realizing SML never love anyone but himself.

Recommend to watch slow burn romance.

Well, What Do YOU Want From a KDrama?

I've watched enough of these series to have formed an idea of what I want to see and why. With that in mind Dynamite Kiss delivered, even if I had to fast forward through the unnecessary parts. I suspect there are many older male viewers who share my expectations / hopes for a series: Attractive women, reasonable romance, and not too many sublots. Standard romcom fare. Sure, the cliches are bound to be there...but I don't care. Whether I'm watching Lim Yoon A, IU, Jung So-min, Ahn Eun-jin or a dozen other lead actresses, the quality of the story doesn't matter as much as just enjoying their performances. I'm certainly not a qualified judge of their acting ability, the music, the plot (unless it's terrible to even a casual viewer like me) or any of the other critiques that reviewers on this site engage in. Almost all of the series include totally unbelievable plot elements that require suspending reason and common sense. But I'm not there to watch documentaries. Sure, in Dynamite Kiss the whole accident--memory lost--memory returned idea is hardly a new...but that didn't mean that that 45 minute detour was a total waste when we finally get the re-enactment of the original dynamite kiss. The vicariously enjoyment of those moments are worth the twists and turns and for me, at least, outweigh the flaws that seem to bother the experts. And I thought the "victory lap" / cast bows was done if a fun way. I'm not going to find that kind of romance (fictional as it may be) at my age but I certainly want to be hanging out with people who are having that much fun. (I should note that I'm writing this while listening to / watching KARA and MOMOLAND music videos and want to have the kind of fun they seem to having, too.)

Ideals can make people evolve into a better version of themselves

A fantasy-romance that depicts reality versus ideals that work out as a key determinant of one’s life realization and progress. It started with a serious tone of a corporate work set-up, but eventually turned out to be a twist of mystery at the end of the first EP. It’s good that they established the MC’s reality and then later on jumped to the world where he lived as an ideal version of himself.

At first, I felt that something was lacking in the alternate universe concept. And then, the plot twist from EP04 happened, and I was hooked. It turned out that the Ogami from the alternate universe loves the MC because he is beneficial to his work. While the Ogami from the MC's real world seems to have a cold personality, but genuinely cares for him the most.

It was a good storyline that covers how people's ideals can transform them into a better version of themselves. Kano realizes that being gloomy and avoiding people will not help him to be happy, but after experiencing life in an alternate universe, he decides to take the big step of communicating and hanging out with his colleague.

The couple’s size difference is so cute. At the finale, we can clearly see how small Kano is compared to the big bad wolf, Ogami. The bed scenes are so adorable. But Ogami being jealous of the other Ogami is the cutest among all of these. Love to see a nice portrayal of fantasy elements in BL with a clear justification of its purpose.

My only problem is that it wasn’t as impactful as I expected it to be. This is more on the subjective side of the review and does not take away the good rating of the show. At least for me, it was above average. Nice show overall.

An entirely unnecessary season

When season 3 was hinted at at the end of the second season, I remember being hella skeptical. I, like many others online, thought that Netflix would ruin a perfectly good story. And we were right. The plot in this 3rd season made very little sense, and the ruined beloved characters.

👨🏻‍⚕️Arisu - He felt like the same person. Nothing about him was different. He was there to be his good guy, brilliant self, and that is what he did. Not even Kento Yamazaki's amazing acting could save such bland, boring characterization

🧗🏻‍♀️Usagi - They did her so dirty that it fucking hurts. I fail to understand the logic behind her trusting this random professor whom she met 2 weeks ago (as per the plot). I can understand her confessing her dreams to him - sometimes it's easier to talk to strangers about hard things than to do so with close friends or family.
But straight up trusting him enough to go away with him? To constantly protect him in the games and at times, pick his side over her husband's??? Hell nah. This isn't the Usagi we knew. She was loyal and trusting of Arisu. That's why they survived both seasons - because they trusted each other regardless of what was going on around them. This sudden shift, over a stranger no less, makes no sense

👩🏻‍⚕️Ann - Why was she here? To add another familiar face to the cast? She had no involvement in the plot. And it was never explained how she knew what was going on with the new borderland 'kidnappings', nor how she could see the psycho guy in blue.

🙍🏻‍♂️Psycho guy in blue (I forgot his name tbh) - His logic about bringing Arisu back to the bordelands was out with the birds. As someone mentioned, citizens do not participate in the games. Sure, some people stayed at the end of sn 2, but we never saw them in the new games, which suggests that they don't play.
If asked, I would say that perhaps they worked behind the scenes or maybe as plants in the games to further chaos - as we saw at the hotel in season 2(?). His whole thing with Arisu was framed as though he would actively participate in all games like the new borderland visitors (victims really). That doesn't quite work with the previous story and world-building. So, his whole plan to force Arisu to stay so he can be their entertainment was utterly nonsensical.

👨🏻‍🦽‍➡️Ryuji - And the award for the 'most selfish character goes to....🏆' *crowd boos*. His obsession had already led to the death of one woman. And now, he wants to drag another woman, Usagi, down with his madness. Also, can someone explain to me his weird attraction (?), obsession (?) with Usagi. Bro seemed like he was in love with her, and for the life of me, I still cannot figure out how that happened or why. Also, how was the man able to swim and even hold on to a struggling Usagi in such raging waters? My belief refuses to be suspended.
Another thing, when you think about it, his story doesn't quite add up. At 1st, we were told that he was obsessed with the borderlands. Then, towards the end, it changed to him being curious about the land of death, the land beyond the borderlands. This feels like terrible writing. Like they figured that they wanted to up the stakes afterwards and couldn't be bothered to make everything fit.
Also, if he was that curious about death, why not simply off himself? A smart person would know that once you truly die, there's no coming back. No coming to prove his research, receive awards for his studies... nothing. So what was all that for? Nway....The man who plays Ryuji is fine AF👀

The other new characters - I didn't quite connect with any enough to remember their names, but I will say that they weren't well-developed. Which is unfortunate, coz some did have great backstories. Namely, the drug addicted guy, the poor, bullied student, and the SAHM with the abusive husband.
The anime girl felt like she was there for the shock factor. Her backstory was confusing. The Mafia guy felt like he was written to mimic the guy who ran the hat shop with the friend, and the siblings were so badly done. The brother died for nothing

Final Thoughts
🃏What was supposed to be the message of this season? It felt like they were going for this profound message, but I for sure did not leave this season with an understanding of what that was😭
🃏They did hint at a possible fourth season in the finale, and I pray to God that that never happens. If you think I'm watching an American version of this, you're solely mistaken. I'm all for actors and people behind the scenes having jobs, but please not with this story. The people in those boardrooms and writers' rooms will continue to desecrate this story further and... No. Please, No.
🃏The games in this installment were also rather boring

Ps. I will say that it was nice to see the season 1&2 characters at the end of this season. If only they all remembered each other. I think that's the one thing I'm sad about. They all formed beautiful friendships during the course of those games, only to forget them😔

I Love Both GL and Horror, And I Love This Show

I'm really happy to see GL expanding into new territory, and new genres. This first(?) attempt into horror was surprisingly great. Even the special effects were pretty good for a TV show that was (apparently) made with a low budget.

One of my favourite things about Runaway was its bleak and oppressive atmosphere. You could really feel the desperation of Win and Boon, like they were trying to run away from a fate that they just couldn't avoid.

I also love how the story unravels over the 8 episodes. The more you watch, the more you begin to realize that things aren't as black and white as they seem. At times, you might even find yourself rooting for the main villain over the 2 protagonists.

The 3 female leads all did a great job. Plaifah was a believable medium, and Piano created one of GL's most memorable villains, but it was Miusic who completely stole the show. Miusic was excellent at portraying a young woman who was being haunted by evil spirits.

With a lot more focus on horror than romance/sex, I fear that this show might never get the attention it deserves from Thai GL fans, but I'm still not ruling out that it might gradually develop a cult following among horror fans.

Nice ending with crap plot.

I watched it on my first time of watching short drama. I love Bai Yan and she suited damsel of distress FL. Lu Dandong has scumbag image in my eye so his acting as ML is quite good.

The plot is about FL sister who was entrusted her husband and their children to FL since she know FL was in love with FL and they have an affair. FL sister didn't have any time since she got terminal cancer and died. And the roller coaster between FL and ML was begin.

For my view, FL, ML and FL sister was not good person. The ending is well deserve for everyone even i thought FL should redeem herself too.

good romance killed by dragging

If you like contract marriage, forced living together, office romance, morally good female leads, and intense slow-burn tension that starts off addictive, then you will absolutely be hooked at first by this drama. I was OBSESSED in the beginning. Like, glued-to-my-screen obsessed. This had everything I love on paper… and that’s why it hurt so much when it lost its way.

LIKES
-Strong couple focus early on with very little unnecessary side cast
-A kind, morally grounded FL who knows right from wrong and isn’t greedy or dishonest
-ML who isn’t physically violent, but clearly broken and psychologically complex
-Excellent early pacing that keeps you coming back without feeling annoying
-She regains her agency early (around ep 4), which made me root for her even more
-One of the best push-and-pull dynamics I’ve seen when it worked
-Perfect mix of office romance, contract marriage, and forced cohabitation
-Refreshing take where the FL isn’t lying her way through the marriage
-I loved that the ML chooses not to see certain truths rather than being outright deceived
-This drama had me saying “I don’t want this to end” around episodes 7–12

DISLIKES
-FL was way too naïve with her kidnapper and believed things too easily
-ML was painfully gullible for someone portrayed as powerful and intelligent
-By episode 9, they still weren’t seriously together, which is where fatigue hit
-Episodes 14–16 dragged badly with unnecessary plot detours
-Romance payoff came way too late, after the emotional momentum was already gone
-Almost no genuine intimacy until the very end (in a 20-episode drama!)
-Certain plot devices (👀 cameras 👀) were introduced, then quietly abandoned
-The drama knew how to build tension, but didn’t know how to release it properly

FINAL THOUGHTS
This drama started as a 10/10 for me. I was obsessed. Truly. It felt like everything I love wrapped into one beautifully paced, addictive story. But somewhere in the middle, it forgot why I was watching: the romance.
By the time the couple finally came together for real, I was already emotionally checked out. The happy ending helped, and I did appreciate that justice was served and evil characters were punished, but it couldn’t fully undo the frustration.
Objectively, this is a well-written, well-acted melodrama with a fantastic setup. Subjectively, it didn’t give me enough together-time to satisfy what it promised.
Final Rating: 8/10
I don’t regret watching it — but I do mourn the version of this drama that could have been incredible all the way through.

Generic plot with forced ending.

I was on Song Yujia festival and decide to watch without seeing her Male Lead name. Huang Haowen usually plays sweet and noble Male Lead and tried to challenge himself by playing scumbag Male Lead.

The plot is usual about FL who was tired for ML indifference to her when they are married and want to divorce him. ML was her sponsor on TV News and want to stand by herself and there is SML who helps her to get another sponsor since ML was sponsored his mistress instead.

Unfortunately, Huang Haowen and Song Yujia did't have chemistry. But i feel bad for SML, his backstory was being wasted by inconsistent FL. The ending was expected but it feels too forced since ML didn't redeem himself. I don't like the ending absolutely.

BIG SPOILERS!! EPISODE BY EPISODE THOUGHTS!

Dare I say one of the best modern dramas of all time? The tension, mutual understanding, and protective behavior between Jin Zhao and Jiang Mu are unmatched. Jin Zhao’s caring and playful side only emerges around Jiang Mu—his smiles, crinkling eyes, and quiet devotion rarely show for anyone else. They are opposites who fit perfectly. He knows what she needs before she even says a word.

He Yu and Yu Shuxin embodied these roles flawlessly. Their chemistry is undeniable, on-screen and off. Interviews and variety shows show their banter and shared energy. When I imagine Jin Zhao, I see He Yu; when I imagine Jiang Mu, I see Yu Shuxin. PLEASE 2ND COLLABORATION!

Jiang Mu is strong, independent, loyal, and loving. She never gives up, ultimately ensuring their happily ever after. A TikTok perfectly sums up Jin Zhao: “Having a boyfriend like Jin Zhao is not for the weak. He’s literally the standard. Husband material. He knows how to cook, has emotional intelligence, can protect you, spoil you, drive, manage time, box, race, fix things, is loyal, brave, strong, handsome, smart, and only yearns for you.” Perfectly said.
